1 Gwe anenya omuntu omulala, okola ebibi bye bimu ne by’onenyeza omuntu oyo. Kyonoova olema okubeera n’eky’okuwoza, kubanga bw’okola bw’otyo, weesalira wekka omusango.
Now then, you there, whoever you are who judges someone else for things you practice yourself—you condemn yourself and are inexcusable.
2 Naye kaakano, tumanyi nga Katonda mutuufu okunenya abo abakola ebiri ng’ebyo.
Further, we know that God's judgment against those who practice such things is according to truth.
3 Naye ggwe omuntu obuntu, akola ebiri ng’ebyo, kyokka n’onenya abantu abalala, olowooza nga Katonda alikuleka?
So then, you there, you who judge those who practice such things while doing the same, do you really imagine that you will escape God's judgment?
4 Oba onyooma ekisa kya Katonda ekingi, n’okugumiikiriza kwe n’obukwatampola bwe? Tomanyi ng’ekisa kya Katonda kikuleeta mu kwenenya?
Or do you scorn the riches of His kindness, tolerance and longsuffering, not recognizing that the goodness of God is leading you toward repentance?
5 Naye olw’obukakanyavu bwo n’omutima oguteenenya, weeterekera ekiruyi ku lunaku lw’ekiruyi n’okubikkulirwa, Katonda lw’alisalirako omusango ogw’obutuukirivu.
Rather, due to your hardness and unrepentant heart, you are treasuring up wrath for yourself in the day of God's wrath and revelation and righteous judgment,
6 Katonda aliwa buli omu empeera esaanira ebikolwa bye.
who will repay each one according to his works:
7 Aliwa obulamu obutaggwaawo abo abaakola obulungi, nga balina essuubi ery’okuweebwa ekitiibwa, ettendo n’obulamu obw’emirembe n’emirembe. (aiōnios g166)
to those who seek for glory, honor and incorruption, by persevering in doing good—eternal life; (aiōnios g166)
8 Naye abo abeenoonyeza ebyabwe, abajeemera amazima nga bagondera obutali butuukirivu, kiriba kiruyi na busungu.
but to those who, due to self-seeking, are actually disobeying the truth (while obeying the unrighteousness)—fury and wrath,
9 Walibaawo ennaku n’okubonaabona ku buli mmeeme y’omuntu akola ebibi, okusookera ku Muyudaaya n’oluvannyuma ku Munnaggwanga.
tribulation and anguish, upon every human soul who works at the evil, whether Jew (first) or Greek;
10 Naye ekitiibwa n’ettendo n’emirembe biriba ku buli akola ebituufu, okusookera ku Muyudaaya n’oluvannyuma ku Munnaggwanga.
but glory, honor and peace to everyone who works the good, whether Jew (first) or Greek.
11 Kubanga Katonda tasosola mu bantu.
Now there is no favoritism with God.
12 Abo bonna abaayonoona olw’obutamanya mateeka, balizikirira; era n’abo bonna abaamanya amateeka ne boonoona, bwe batyo bwe balisalirwa omusango, okusinziira mu Mateeka.
For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law; while as many as have sinned with law will be judged by law.
13 Kuba abawulira obuwulizi amateeka, si be bejjeerera eri Katonda, wabula abo abakola bye galagira, be baliweebwa obutuukirivu.
For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law will be justified
14 Abaamawanga abatalina mateeka bwe bakolera mu buzaaliranwa ebintu eby’Amateeka, ebintu ebyo byennyini bifuuka amateeka gye bali, newaakubadde ng’Amateeka tegaabaweebwa.
(indeed, whenever the ethnic nations that do not have law do by nature the things of the law, these, although not having law, are a law to themselves;
15 Ekyo kiraga ng’Amateeka gawandiikibbwa mu mitima gyabwe, era kikakasa munda mu birowoozo byabwe, ng’emitima gyabwe giribasaliriza omusango oba okubejjeereza okusinziira ku ekyo kye bamanyi.
who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their reasonings among themselves accusing or even excusing)
16 Kino kiribaawo ku lunaku Katonda kw’aliramulira abantu olw’ebyo bye baakisa, ng’enjiri yange bw’eri ku bwa Yesu Kristo.
in the day when God, according to my Gospel, will judge people's secrets by Jesus Christ.
17 Abamu ku mmwe mweyita Bayudaaya. Mwesiga amateeka ne mwewaana nga bwe mumanyi Katonda.
Look, you declare yourself a Jew, and rest on the Law, and boast in God,
18 Bwe musoma ebyawandiikibwa muyiga engeri Katonda gy’ayagala mweyise ne muzuula ekituufu.
and know the Will, and approve the superior things, being instructed out of the Law.
19 Mukakasa nga bwe muli abakulembeze b’abazibe b’amaaso, era ettabaaza eri abo bonna abali mu kizikiza.
Further, you are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those in darkness,
20 Naye olwokubanga, amateeka ga Katonda gatuwa amagezi n’amazima, mulowooza muyinza okuyigiriza abatali bagezi n’abaana abato.
an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of the immature, having in the Law the embodiment of knowledge and truth.
21 Kale ggwe ayigiriza abalala, lwaki toyinza kweyigiriza wekka? Ategeeza abalala obutabba, tobba?
You then, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach not to steal, do you steal?
22 Ategeeza obutayenda, toyenda? Akyawa ebifaananyi, si ggwe onyaga eby’omu masabo?
You who say not to commit adultery, do you adulterate? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?
23 Mwenyumiririza mu mateeka, naye ne muswaza Katonda olw’obutagatuukiriza.
You who boast in the Law, do you dishonor God through the transgression of the Law?
24 Ekyawandiikibwa kigamba nti, “Olw’ebikolwa byammwe ebyo, erinnya lya Katonda kyelivudde livvoolebwa mu mawanga.”
For, just as it is written: “The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”
25 Okukomolebwa kugasiza ddala bw’okwata amateeka, naye bw’otagatuukiriza tewaba njawulo wakati wo n’atali mukomole.
Now circumcision does have value if you keep the Law, but if you are a transgressor of the Law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision.
26 Kale obanga atali mukomole akwata amateeka, talibalibwa ng’eyakomolebwa?
So if the uncircumcised keeps the righteous requirements of the Law, will not his uncircumcision be counted as circumcision?
27 Noolwekyo ataakomolebwa mu buzaaliranwa naye ng’akuuma amateeka, alikusaliza omusango gwe alina amateeka amawandiike n’otagatuukiriza ate nga wakomolebwa.
And will not the physically uncircumcised who fulfills the law judge you, complete with written code and circumcision, who are a transgressor of the Law?
28 Okweyisa ng’Omuyudaaya ate nga wakomolebwa, tekikufuula Muyudaaya yennyini.
Because a person is not a [true] Jew who is only one outwardly, nor is [true] circumcision something outward in the flesh;
29 Okuba Omuyudaaya yennyini oteekwa okugondera amateeka. Okukomolebwa okutuufu kwe kukomolebwa okubaawo mu mutima, so si okw’omubiri. Omuntu ng’oyo atenderezebwa Katonda, so si abantu.
but he is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is of the heart—in spirit, not letter—whose praise is not from men but from God.
