< Zabbuli 79 >
1 Zabbuli ya Asafu. Ayi Katonda omugabo gwo gulumbiddwa amawanga; boonoonye yeekaalu yo entukuvu ne Yerusaalemi kizikiriziddwa, ne kifuuka entuumo.
A psalm of Asaph. Heathen, O God, have come into your land, defiling your holy temple, and laying Jerusalem in ruins.
2 Emirambo gy’abaweereza bo bagifudde mmere ya nnyonyi ez’omu bbanga, n’emibiri gy’abatukuvu bo giweereddwa ensolo ez’omu nsiko.
They have given the bodies of your dead servants to the birds of the air to devour, and the flesh of your faithful to the beasts of the field.
3 Omusaayi gwabwe ne guyiibwa ng’amazzi okwetooloola Yerusaalemi, so nga abafudde tewali muntu abaziika.
Round about Jerusalem they have poured out their blood like water; and there was no one to bury them.
4 Baliraanwa baffe batuyisaamu amaaso, era tufuuse ekisekererwa eri abo abatwetoolodde.
On every side our neighbours revile us and mock us and jeer at us.
5 Ayi Mukama olitusunguwalira kutuusa ddi, nnaku zonna? Obuggya bwo bunaabuubuukanga ng’omuliro?
How long will you be angry, O Lord? Will your jealousy burn like fire forever?
6 Obusungu bwo bubuubuukire ku mawanga agatakumanyi, ne ku bwakabaka obutakoowoola linnya lyo.
Pour out your wrath on the nations that don’t know you, on the kingdoms that do not call on your name.
7 Kubanga bazikirizza Yakobo, ne basaanyaawo ensi ye.
For Jacob they devoured, they have desolated his home.
8 Totubalira kibi kya bajjajjaffe; tukusaba oyanguwe okutusaasira kubanga tuli mu bwetaavu bungi nnyo.
Do not remember against us our ancestors’ sins; O meet us soon with your pity, for utterly weak are we.
9 Tuyambe olw’ekitiibwa ky’erinnya lyo, Ayi Katonda ow’obulokozi bwaffe; otuwonye era otutangiririre olw’ebibi byaffe olw’erinnya lyo.
Help us, O God our saviour, for the renown of your name: for your reputation deliver us and cover over our sins.
10 Lwaki abamawanga babuuza nti, “Katonda waabwe ali ludda wa?” Kkiriza okuwalana eggwanga olw’omusaayi gw’abaweereza bo ogwayiyibwa, kumanyibwe mu mawanga gonna nga naffe tulaba.
Why should the nations say, ‘Where is their God?’ Let revenge for the outpoured blood of your servants be shown on the heathen before our eyes.
11 Wuliriza okusinda kw’omusibe; okozese omukono gwo ogw’amaanyi owonye abo abasaliddwa ogw’okufa.
May the groans of the prisoner come before you; free the children of death by your mighty arm.
12 Ayi Mukama, baliraanwa baffe abakuduulira, bawalane emirundi musanvu.
Pay our neighbours back sevenfold for the scorn they have heaped upon you, O Lord.
13 Kale nno, ffe abantu bo era endiga ez’omu ddundiro lyo, tulyoke tukutenderezenga emirembe gyonna; buli mulembe gulyoke gukutenderezenga emirembe gyonna.
Then we, your people, the flock of your pasture, will give thanks to you for evermore, and tell your praise to all generations.
