< Zabbuli 62 >
1 Ya Mukulu wa Bayimbi. Ya Yedusuni. Zabbuli ya Dawudi. Emmeeme yange ewummulira mu Katonda yekka; oyo obulokozi bwange mwe buva.
God is the only one who can give me peace in my inner being, and he is the one who saves me [from my enemies].
2 Ye yekka, lwe lwazi lwange era bwe bulokozi bwange; ye kye kigo kyange siinyeenyezebwenga n’akatono.
Only he is like an [overhanging] rock [under which I can be safe] [MET]; he will be [like] a shelter, [with the result that] I will never be defeated [MET].
3 Mulituusa ddi nga mulumba omuntu, mmwe mwenna okwagala okumusuula wansi ng’ekisenge ekyewunzise era ng’olukomera oluyuuguuma?
When will you, [my enemies], stop attacking me [RHQ]? I feel that I am [as useless against you as] a wall that is about to fall over or a broken-down fence [MET].
4 Bateesa okumuggya mu kifo kye ekinywevu, basanyukira eby’obulimba. Basaba omukisa n’emimwa gyabwe so nga munda bakolima.
My enemies plan to remove me from my important position so that people no longer honor me. They delight in telling lies. They bless people by what they say [MTY], but in their inner beings they curse [those people].
5 Emmeeme yange ewummulire mu Katonda yekka; kubanga mu ye mwe muli essuubi lyange.
God is the only one who gives me peace in my inner being; he is the one whom I confidently expect [to help me].
6 Ye yekka lwe lwazi lwange era bwe bulokozi bwange, ye kye kigo kyange, siinyeenyezebwenga.
Only he is [like an overhanging] rock [under which I can be safe] [MET]; he is [like] a shelter, and [as a result] I will never be defeated.
7 Okulokolebwa kwange n’ekitiibwa kyange biri mu Katonda yekka; ye lwe lwazi lwange olw’amaanyi era kye kiddukiro kyange.
God is the one who saves me and honors me. He is [like an overhanging] strong rock under which I [can] find shelter [MET].
8 Mumwesigenga bulijjo mmwe abantu, mumutegeezenga byonna ebiri mu mitima gyammwe, kubanga Katonda kye kiddukiro kyaffe.
[You my] people, always trust in him. Tell him all your troubles, because he is (our refuge/the one who protects us) [MET].
9 Abaana b’abantu mukka bukka, abazaalibwa mu bugagga bulimba bwereere; ne bwe bageraageranyizibwa ku minzaani, n’omukka gubasinga okuzitowa.
People who are considered to be unimportant are [as worthless/unreliable as] a breath of air; people who are considered to be important [also] really (amount to nothing/cannot be trusted [to help us)]. If you put them all on a scale, [it would be as if] they weighed less than a puff of air.
10 Temwesigamanga ku bujoozi wadde ku bintu ebibbe. Temuyitirira okwewaanirawaanira mu bugagga bwammwe ne bwe bweyongeranga, era temubumalirangako mwoyo gwammwe.
Do not trust in money gained by extorting it from others; do not try to gain anything by robbing others. If you become very wealthy, do not trust in [IDM] your money.
11 Katonda ayogedde ekintu kimu, kyokka nze nziggyemu ebintu bibiri nti: Katonda, oli w’amaanyi,
I have heard God say more than once that he is the one who [really] has power,
12 era ggwe, Ayi Mukama, ojjudde okwagala. Ddala olisasula buli muntu ng’ebikolwa bye bwe biri.
and that he is the one who faithfully loves [us]. He rewards every one [of us] according to the deeds that we do.
