< Zabbuli 49 >
1 Ya Mukulu wa Bayimbi. Zabbuli ya Batabani ba Koola. Muwulire mmwe amawanga gonna, mutege amatu mmwe mwenna abali mu nsi.
For the choirmaster. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. Hear this, all you peoples; listen, all inhabitants of the world,
2 Ab’ekitiibwa n’abakopi, abagagga n’abaavu, mwenna; muwulirize ebigambo byange.
both low and high, rich and poor alike.
3 Kubanga ebigambo by’omu kamwa kange bya magezi, ebiva mu mutima gwange bijjudde okutegeera.
My mouth will impart wisdom, and the meditation of my heart will bring understanding.
4 Nnaakozesanga ebikwata ku ngero, nga nnyinnyonnyola amakulu gaazo n’oluyimba ku nnanga.
I will incline my ear to a proverb; I will express my riddle with the harp:
5 Siityenga ne bwe nnaabanga mu buzibu; newaakubadde ng’abalabe bange banneetoolodde,
Why should I fear in times of trouble, when wicked usurpers surround me?
6 abantu abeesiga obugagga bwabwe beenyumiririza mu bintu ebingi bye balina.
They trust in their wealth and boast in their great riches.
7 Ddala ddala, tewali muntu ayinza kununula bulamu bwa munne, wadde okwegula okuva eri Katonda.
No man can possibly redeem his brother or pay his ransom to God.
8 Kubanga omuwendo ogununula obulamu munene nnyo, tewali n’omu agusobola;
For the redemption of his soul is costly, and never can payment suffice,
9 alyoke awangaale ennaku zonna nga tatuuse magombe.
that he should live on forever and not see decay.
10 Kubanga n’abantu abagezi bafa; abasirusiru n’abatalina magezi bonna baaggwaawo, obugagga bwabwe ne babulekera abalala.
For it is clear that wise men die, and the foolish and the senseless both perish and leave their wealth to others.
11 Entaana zaabwe ge ganaabanga amaka gaabwe ennaku zonna; nga bye bisulo ebya buli mulembe oguliddawo; baafuna ettaka mu mannya gaabwe.
Their graves are their eternal homes— their dwellings for endless generations— even though their lands were their namesakes.
12 Omuntu tabeerera mirembe gyonna, ne bw’aba mugagga atya, alifa ng’ensolo bwe zifa.
But a man, despite his wealth, cannot endure; he is like the beasts that perish.
13 Ako ke kabi akatuuka ku beesiga ebitaliimu, era ye nkomerero y’abo abeesiga obugagga bwabwe.
This is the fate of the self-confident and their followers who endorse their sayings.
14 Okufaanana ng’endiga, bateekwa kufa; olumbe ne lubalya. Bakka butereevu emagombe, obulungi bwabwe ne bubula, amagombe ne gafuuka amaka gaabwe. (Sheol )
Like sheep they are destined for Sheol. Death will be their shepherd. The upright will rule them in the morning, and their form will decay in Sheol, far from their lofty abode. (Sheol )
15 Naye Katonda alinunula emmeeme yange mu magombe, ddala ddala alintwala gy’ali. (Sheol )
But God will redeem my life from Sheol, for He will surely take me to Himself. (Sheol )
16 Omuntu bw’agaggawalanga n’ekitiibwa ky’ennyumba ye nga kyeyongedde, tomutyanga,
Do not be amazed when a man grows rich, when the splendor of his house increases.
17 kubanga bw’alifa taliiko ky’alitwala, wadde n’ekitiibwa kye tekirigenda naye.
For when he dies, he will carry nothing away; his abundance will not follow him down.
18 Newaakubadde nga mu bulamu yeerowoozaako ng’aweereddwa omukisa kubanga omugagga abantu bamugulumiza,
Though in his lifetime he blesses his soul— and men praise you when you prosper—
19 kyokka alikka emagombe eri bajjajjaabe, n’ayingira mu kizikiza ekikutte.
he will join the generation of his fathers, who will never see the light of day.
20 Omuntu omugagga naye nga simutegeevu tabeerera mirembe gyonna, alizikirira ng’ensolo ez’omu nsiko.
A man who has riches without understanding is like the beasts that perish.
