< Zabbuli 36 >

1 Ya Mukulu wa Bayimbi. Zabbuli ya Dawudi. Nnina obubaka mu mutima gwange obukwata ku bwonoonyi bw’omukozi w’ebibi. N’okutya tatya Katonda.
“To the chief musician, by the servant of the Lord, by David.” Saith vice itself to the wicked—so I feel it within my heart— that he should have no dread of God before his eyes.
2 Ye nga bw’alaba yeewaanawaana n’atasobola kutegeera oba okukyawa ekibi kye.
For he flattereth himself in his own eyes [too much] to find out his iniquity to hate it.
3 Ebigambo ebiva mu kamwa ke biba bibi era nga bya bulimba; takyalina magezi era takyakola birungi.
The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, to do good.
4 Ne ku kitanda kye afumiitiriza ebibi by’anaakola; amalirira okutambuliranga mu kkubo ekyamu, era ebitali bituufu tabyewala.
He deviseth wickedness upon his couch; he placeth himself on a way that is not good; evil he despiseth not.
5 Okwagala kwo, Ayi Mukama, kutuuka ne ku ggulu; obwesigwa bwo butuuka ku bire.
O Lord, into the heavens reacheth thy kindness, thy faithfulness even into the skies.
6 Obutuukirivu bwo bugulumivu ng’agasozi aganene, n’obwenkanya bwo buwanvu nnyo ng’ennyanja ennene ennyo. Ayi Mukama, olabirira abantu n’ebisolo.
Thy righteousness is like the mountains of God; thy acts of justice like the great deep: man and beast dost thou ever help, O Lord.
7 Okwagala kwo okutaggwaawo nga tekugeraageranyizika. Ab’ebitiibwa n’abatali ba bitiibwa baddukira mu biwaawaatiro byo.
How precious is thy kindness, O God! And the children of men that seek shelter under the shadow of thy wings, —
8 Balya ku bingi eby’omu nnyumba yo ne bakkuta; obawa ebyokunywa by’omugga gwo ogwesiimisa.
These will be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and of the stream of thy delights wilt thou give them to drink.
9 Kubanga gw’olina ensulo ey’obulamu, era gw’otwakiza omusana.
For with thee is the source of life: in thy light shall we see light.
10 Yongeranga okwagala abo abakutegeera, era n’obutuukirivu bwo eri abo abalina emitima emirongoofu.
Draw down continuously thy kindness unto those that acknowledge thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
11 Ab’amalala baleme okunninnyirira, wadde ababi okunsindiikiriza.
Let not come against me the foot of pride, and let not the hand of the wicked chase me off.
12 Laba, ababi nga bwe bagudde! Basuuliddwa wansi era tebasobola na ku golokokawo.
There are fallen the workers of wickedness: they are thrust down, and shall not be able to rise.
