1 Zabbuli ya Dawudi. Muyimbire Mukama n’essanyu mmwe abatuukirivu; kisaanira abalongoofu okumutenderezanga.
Let those who do good shout for joy—those who live right should praise him!
2 Mutendereze Mukama n’ennanga, mumukubire ennyimba ku ntongooli ey’enkoba ekkumi.
Praise the Lord with the lyre, play music to him on the ten-stringed harp.
3 Mumuyimbire oluyimba oluggya; musune enkoba ze ntongooli n’amagezi nga bwe muyimba mu ddoboozi ery’omwanguka olw’essanyu.
Sing a new song to him; play your instruments well and shout for joy.
4 Kubanga ekigambo kya Mukama kituufu era kya mazima; mwesigwa mu buli ky’akola.
For the word of the Lord is true, and he is trustworthy in everything he does.
5 Mukama ayagala obutuukirivu n’obwenkanya. Ensi ejjudde okwagala kwa Mukama okutaggwaawo.
He loves all that is good and right; the earth is full of the Lord's trustworthy love.
6 Mukama yayogera kigambo, eggulu ne likolebwa; n’assiza omukka mu kamwa ke eggye lyonna ery’omu ggulu ne litondebwa.
The Lord spoke the word and the heavens were made; his mouth breathed all the stars into existence.
7 Yakuŋŋaanya amazzi g’ennyanja mu ntuumu, agayanja n’agasibira mu masitoowa gaago.
He gathers the waters of the sea together, he keeps the ocean depths in store.
8 Ensi yonna esaana etyenga Mukama, n’abantu ab’omu mawanga gonna bamussengamu ekitiibwa;
Let all the earth show reverence to the Lord; let all the world's inhabitants be in awe of him.
9 kubanga yayogera bwogezi n’etondebwa, n’alagira n’eyimirira nga nywevu.
For he spoke and the world came into existence; he gave the command and it was created.
10 Mukama asansulula enteekateeka y’amawanga; alemesa abantu okutuukiriza bye bagenderera.
The Lord foils the decisions of the nations, he frustrates the plans of the peoples,
11 Naye enteekateeka za Mukama zibeerawo nga nywevu emirembe gyonna; n’ebigendererwa by’omutima gwe bya lubeerera.
But the Lord's plan stands forever—what he decides lasts for all generations.
12 Lirina omukisa eggwanga eririna Katonda nga ye Mukama waalyo, ng’abantu baalyo yabalonda babeere bantu be.
Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he has chosen as specially belonging to him.
13 Mukama asinziira mu ggulu n’alaba abaana b’abantu bonna;
The Lord looks from heaven and sees the whole of humanity,
14 asinziira mu kifo kye mw’abeera n’alaba abantu bonna abali ku nsi.
from his throne he watches all those who live on earth.
15 Ye y’ategeka ebirowoozo byabwe bonna ne yeetegereza byonna bye bakola.
He created their minds, so he knows everything they do.
16 Tewali kabaka asobola kuwona olw’obunene bw’eggye lye; era tewali mulwanyi ayinza kuwona olw’amaanyi ge amangi.
Even the greatest army cannot save a king; the greatest strength cannot save a warrior.
17 Okusuubira embalaasi yokka okukuwanguza olutalo kuteganira bwerere; newaakubadde erina amaanyi mangi naye tesobola kulokola.
Don't deceive yourself: a warhorse can't give you victory—even its incredible strength won't save you.
18 Naye amaaso ga Mukama galabirira abo abamutya; abalina essuubi mu kwagala kwe okutaggwaawo,
The Lord watches over those who reverently follow him, those who place their hope in his trustworthy love
19 abawonya okufa, era abawonya enjala.
to save them from death and to keep them alive when famine strikes.
20 Tulindirira Mukama nga tulina essuubi, kubanga ye mubeezi waffe era ye ngabo yaffe.
We place our confidence in the Lord; he is our help and our defender.
21 Mu ye emitima gyaffe mwe gijaguliza, kubanga twesiga erinnya lye ettukuvu.
We are so happy about him, for we trust in his holy character.
22 Okwagala kwo okutaggwaawo kubeerenga mu ffe, Ayi Mukama, ng’essuubi lyaffe bwe liri mu ggwe.
Lord, let your trustworthy love rest upon us as we hope in you.
