1 Mutendereze Mukama! Mumutendereze nga musinziira mu ggulu, mumutenderereze mu bifo ebiri waggulu.
Praise Yahweh! Praise him, from up in heaven; praise him from way up in the sky!
2 Mumutendereze mmwe mwenna bamalayika be, mumutendereze mmwe mwenna eggye lye ery’omu ggulu.
All you angels who belong to him, praise him! All you who are in the armies of heaven, praise him!
3 Mmwe enjuba n’omwezi mutendereze Mukama, nammwe mwenna emmunyeenye ezaaka mumutendereze.
Sun and moon, [you also] praise him! You shining stars, you praise him!
4 Tendereza Mukama ggwe eggulu eriri waggulu ennyo, naawe amazzi agali waggulu w’eggulu.
You highest heavens, praise him! And you waters that are high above the sky, praise him!
5 Leka byonna bitendereze erinnya lya Mukama! Kubanga ye yalagira, ne bitondebwa.
I want [all of] these to praise Yahweh [MTY] because by commanding [them to exist], he created them.
6 Yabinywereza ddala mu bifo byabyo ennaku zonna, n’ateekawo etteeka eritaliggwaawo.
He determined the places where they should be [in the sky], and he commanded that they should be there forever. They cannot disobey that command!
7 Mumutendereze nga musinziira ku nsi, mmwe balukwata n’ebifo byonna eby’omu buziba bw’ennyanja,
And everything on the earth, praise Yahweh! You [huge] sea monsters and [everything else that is] deep [in the ocean],
8 mmwe okumyansa, n’omuzira ogw’amakerenda, n’omuzira ogukutte era n’olufu, naawe kikuŋŋunta, mugondere ekiragiro kye,
and fire and hail, and snow and frost, and strong winds that obey what he commands, [I tell] all of you to praise Yahweh!
9 mmwe agasozi n’obusozi, emiti egy’ebibala n’emivule;
Hills and mountains, fruit trees and cedar [trees],
10 ensolo ez’omu nsiko era n’ente zonna, ebyewalula n’ebinyonyi ebibuuka,
all the wild animals and all [you] cattle, and the (reptiles/creatures that scurry across the ground), and [all] the birds, [I tell all of them to praise Yahweh]!
11 bakabaka b’ensi n’amawanga gonna, abalangira n’abafuzi bonna ab’ensi,
You kings on this earth and all the people [that you rule], you princes and all [other] rulers,
12 abavubuka abalenzi n’abawala; abantu abakulu n’abaana abato.
you young men and young women, you old people and children, [everyone, praise Yahweh!]
13 Bitendereze erinnya lya Mukama, kubanga erinnya lye lyokka lye ligulumizibwa; ekitiibwa kye kisinga byonna eby’omu nsi n’eby’omu ggulu.
I want them [all] to praise Yahweh [MTY] because he is greater than anyone else. His glory is greater than [anything on] the earth or [in] heaven.
14 Abantu be abawadde amaanyi, era agulumizizza abatukuvu be, be bantu be Isirayiri abakolagana naye. Mutendereze Mukama.
He caused us, his people, to be strong in order that we, his people, we Israeli people (who are very precious to him/whom he loves very much), would praise him. So praise Yahweh!
