1 Tendereza Mukama! Tendereza Mukama ggwe emmeeme yange!
Halleluyah ·praise Yah·! Praise Adonai, my soul.
2 Nnaatenderezanga Mukama ennaku zonna ez’obulamu bwange; nnaayimbanga okutendereza Katonda wange nga nkyali mulamu.
While I live, I will praise Adonai. I will sing zahmar ·musical praise· to my God as long as I exist.
3 Teweesiganga bafuzi, wadde abantu obuntu omutali buyambi.
Don’t put your trust in princes, each a son of man in whom there is no help.
4 Kubanga bafa ne bakka emagombe; ne ku lunaku olwo lwennyini, byonna bye baba bateeseteese ne bifa.
His spirit departs, and he teshuvah ·completely returns· to the earth. In that very day, his thoughts perish.
5 Yeesiimye oyo ayambibwa Katonda wa Yakobo; ng’essuubi lye liri mu Mukama Katonda we,
Happy is he who has the God of Jacob [Supplanter] for his help, whose hope is in Adonai, his God:
6 eyakola eggulu n’ensi n’ennyanja ne byonna ebirimu, era omwesigwa emirembe gyonna.
who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; who keeps truth forever;
7 Atereeza ensonga z’abajoogebwa mu bwenkanya, n’abalumwa enjala abawa ebyokulya. Mukama asumulula abasibe.
who executes mishpat ·justice· for the oppressed; who gives food to the hungry. Adonai frees the prisoners.
8 Mukama azibula amaaso ga bamuzibe, era awanirira abazitoowereddwa. Mukama ayagala abatuukirivu.
Adonai opens the eyes of the blind. Adonai raises up those who are bowed down. Adonai 'ahav ·affectionately loves· the upright.
9 Mukama alabirira bannamawanga, era ayamba bamulekwa ne bannamwandu; naye ekkubo ly’abakola ebibi alifaafaaganya.
Adonai preserves the foreigners. He upholds the fatherless and widow, but the way of the wicked he turns upside down.
10 Mukama anaafuganga emirembe gyonna, Katonda wo, Ayi Sayuuni, anaabanga Katonda wa buli mulembe. Mutendereze Mukama!
Adonai will reign forever; your God, O Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking], to all generations. Halleluyah ·praise Yah·!
