1 Zabbuli ya Dawudi. Atenderezebwe Mukama, olwazi lwange, atendeka emikono gyange okulwana, era ateekerateekera engalo zange olutalo.
[A Psalm] of David concerning Goliad. Blessed [be] the Lord my God, who instructs my hands for battle, [and] my fingers for war.
2 Mukama anjagala ye Katonda wange era kye kiddukiro kyange, ge maanyi gange amangi era ye mulokozi wange. Ye ngabo yange mwe neekweka. Awangula amawanga n’agassa wansi w’ebigere byange.
My mercy, and my refuge; my helper, and my deliverer; my protector, in whom I have trusted; who subdues my people under me.
3 Ayi Mukama, omuntu kye ki ggwe okumufaako, oba omwana w’omuntu, ggwe okumulowoozaako?
Lord, what is man, that you are made known to him? or the son of man, that you take account of him?
4 Omuntu ali nga mukka. Ennaku ze ziri ng’ekisiikirize ekiyita obuyisi.
Man is like to vanity: his days pass as a shadow.
5 Yawula mu ggulu lyo, Ayi Mukama, okke! Kwata ku nsozi zinyooke omukka!
O Lord, bow your heavens, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.
6 Myansa abalabe basaasaane, era lasa obusaale bwo obazikirize.
Send lightning, and you shall scatter them: send forth your arrows, and you shall discomfit them.
7 Ogolole omukono gwo ng’osinziira waggulu ennyo, omponye, onzigye mu mazzi amangi, era onzigye mu mikono gya bannamawanga;
Send forth your hand from on high; rescue me, and deliver me out of great waters, out of the hand of strange children;
8 ab’emimwa egyogera eby’obulimba, abalayira nti kya mazima, so nga bulimba bwereere.
whose mouth has spoken vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of iniquity.
9 Ayi Mukama, nnaakuyimbiranga oluyimba oluggya; nnaakukubiranga ennanga ey’enkoba ekkumi,
O God, I will sing a new song to you: I will play to you on a lute of ten strings.
10 ggwe awa bakabaka obuwanguzi; amponya, nze omuddu wo Dawudi, ekitala ekyogi.
[Even] to him who gives salvation to kings: who redeems his servant David from the hurtful sword.
11 Ndokola, omponye onzigye mu mukono gwa bannamawanga bano ab’emimwa egyogera eby’obulimba, era omukono gwabwe ogwa ddyo gwa bulimba.
Deliver me, and rescue me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth has spoken vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of iniquity;
12 Batabani baffe mu buvubuka bwabwe, Ayi Mukama, babeere ng’ebisimbe ebikulidde ddala obulungi, ne bawala baffe babe ng’empagi ennungi ez’oku nsonda okuzimbirwa ennyumba ya kabaka mu lubiri.
whose children are as plants, strengthened in their youth: their daughters are beautiful, sumptuously adorned after the similitude of a temple.
13 Amawanika gaffe gajjule ebibala ebya buli ngeri. Endiga zaffe zizaale enkumi n’obukumi zijjule amalundiro gaffe.
Their garners are full, and bursting with one kind of store after another; their sheep are prolific, multiplying in their streets.
14 Ente zaffe ziwalule ebizito. Ebisenge by’ekibuga bireme kumenyebwa. Waleme kubaawo kukaaba n’okwaziirana kwonna mu nguudo ez’omu bibuga byaffe.
Their oxen are fat: there is no falling down of a hedge, nor going out, nor cry in their folds.
15 Abantu abaweereddwa emikisa egyo beesiimye! Balina omukisa abantu abo abalina Katonda waabwe nga ye Mukama.
Men bless the people to whom this lot belongs, [but] blessed is the people whose God is the Lord.
