< Zabbuli 141 >

1 Zabbuli Ya Dawudi. Ayi Mukama nkukaabira; oyanguwe okujja gye ndi! Owulire eddoboozi lyange, nga nkukoowoola.
“A psalm of David.” O Lord, I call thee, hasten unto me: give ear unto my voice, when I call unto thee.
2 Okusaba kwange kubeere ng’ebyakaloosa mu maaso go, n’okugolola emikono gyange gy’oli kubeere nga ssaddaaka ey’akawungeezi.
May my prayer be valued as incense before thee, the lifting up of my hands, as the evening offering.
3 Onkuume, Ayi Mukama, nneme okwasamya akamwa kange, era bwe njogera onkomeko.
Set, O Lord, a watch unto my mouth: keep a guard at the door of my lips.
4 Okyuse omutima gwange guleme kugoberera kibi, n’okwemalira mu bikolwa ebibi; nneme okwetaba n’abantu abakola ebitali bya butuukirivu, wadde okulya ku mmere yaabwe.
Permit not my heart to incline after any evil thing, to practise deeds in wickedness with men that are doers of wrong: and let me not eat of their dainties.
5 Leka omuntu omutuukirivu ankube, kubanga anaaba ankwatiddwa ekisa; muleke annenye, ekyo kinaaba ng’amafuta amalungi agafukiddwa ku mutwe gwange; sijja kugagaana. Naye nnaasabanga bulijjo nga sikkiriziganya na babi wadde n’ebikolwa byabwe.
If the righteous strike me, it is a kindness; and if he reprove me, it is [as] oil poured on the head, my head shall not refuse it; for yet my prayer also [is offered] in their sufferings.
6 Abakola ebibi bwe baliweebwayo eri ab’okubasalira omusango, olwo ne balyoka bayiga nti ebigambo byange bya mazima.
Are their judges fallen down through means of a rock: then will they listen to my words; for they are pleasant.
7 Balyogera nti, “Ng’omuntu bw’akabala n’akuba amavuunike, n’amagumba gaffe bwe galisaasaanyizibwa bwe gatyo mu kamwa k’emagombe.” (Sheol h7585)
As when one cutteth in and splitteth open the earth: so are our bones scattered for the mouth of the grave. (Sheol h7585)
8 Naye nze amaaso ngatadde ku ggwe, Ayi Mukama Katonda; mu ggwe mwe neekwese, tondeka nga sirina anambeera!
For unto thee, O Eternal Lord, are my eyes directed; in thee do I trust: pour not out my life.
9 Nkuuma omponye omutego gwe banteze, n’ebitimba by’abo abakola ebitali bya butuukirivu.
Guard me from the power of the snare which they have laid for me, and the traps of the wrong-doers.
10 Ebitimba bye banteze abakola ebibi abo bonna, baleke babigwemu, kyokka nze mpone.
Let the wicked fall into their own nets, altogether—while I pass safely by.
