1 Mutendereze Mukama! Alina omukisa omuntu atya Katonda, era asanyukira ennyo mu mateeka ge.
Praise Yahweh! (Happy are/He is pleased with) those who revere him, those who happily obey his commands.
2 Abaana be baliba ba kitiibwa mu nsi; omulembe gw’abalongoofu guliweebwa omukisa.
Their children will prosper in their land; and their descendants will be blessed [by God].
3 Ennyumba ye enejjulanga ebintu n’obugagga obungi; era anaabanga mutuukirivu ennaku zonna.
Their families [MTY] will be very wealthy [DOU], and [the results of] their righteous deeds will endure forever.
4 Ne mu kizikiza, ekitangaala kyakira omulongoofu, alina ekisa, n’oyo alina okusaasira, era omutuukirivu.
Godly/Righteous people are [like] lights [SIM] that shine in the darkness on those who are kind, merciful and righteous.
5 Omuntu oyo agabira abeetaaga, era tawolera magoba, era akola emirimu gye gyonna n’obwenkanya, alifuna ebirungi.
Things [will] go well for those who generously lend money to others and who conduct their businesses honestly.
6 Omutuukirivu talinyeenyezebwa, era anajjukirwanga ennaku zonna.
Righteous people will not be overwhelmed/worried/distressed [because of their troubles], and they will never be forgotten [by other people].
7 Amawulire amabi tegaamutiisenga, kubanga omutima gwe munywevu gwesiga Mukama.
They are not afraid of [receiving] bad news; they confidently/completely trust in Yahweh.
8 Omutima gwe guteredde, tewali ky’anaatyanga, era oluvannyuma alitunuulira abalabe be n’amaaso ag’obuwanguzi.
They are confident and not afraid, because they know that they will see [God defeat] their enemies.
9 Agabidde abaavu bye beetaaga; mutuukirivu ebbanga lyonna; era bonna banaamussangamu ekitiibwa.
They give things generously to poor/needy [people]; [the results of] their kind deeds will endure forever, and they [will] be exalted and honored.
10 Omubi anaabirabanga ebyo, n’asunguwala, n’aluma abugigi, naye nga talina kya kukola. Okwegomba kw’ababi tekuubengako kye kubagasa.
Wicked people see those things and are angry; they gnash their teeth [angrily], but they [will] disappear [and die]. The [wicked] things that they want to do [will] never happen.
