< Zabbuli 106 >

1 Mumutendereze Mukama! Mwebaze Mukama kubanga mulungi, kubanga okwagala kwe tekuggwaawo emirembe gyonna.
Praise Yahweh. Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his covenant faithfulness endures forever.
2 Ani ayinza okwogera ku bikulu Mukama by’akola n’abimalayo, oba okumutendereza obulungi nga bw’asaanira?
Who can recount the mighty acts of Yahweh or proclaim in full all his praiseworthy deeds?
3 Balina omukisa abalina obwenkanya, era abakola ebituufu bulijjo.
Blessed are those who do what is right, and whose deeds are always just.
4 Onzijukiranga, Ayi Mukama, bw’obanga okolera abantu bo ebirungi; nange onnyambe bw’olibalokola,
Call me to mind, Yahweh, when you show favor to your people; help me when you save them.
5 ndyoke neeyagalire wamu n’abalonde bo nga bafunye ebirungi, nsanyukire wamu n’eggwanga lyo, era ntendererezenga mu bantu bo.
Then I will see the prosperity of your chosen, rejoice in the gladness of your nation, and glory with your inheritance.
6 Twonoonye, nga bajjajjaffe bwe baakola; tukoze ebibi ne tusobya nnyo.
We have sinned like our ancestors; we have done wrong, and we have done evil.
7 Bakadde baffe tebaafaayo kujjukira ebyamagero bye wakola nga bali mu Misiri; n’ebyekisa ebingi bye wabakolera tebaabijjukira, bwe baatuuka ku Nnyanja Emyufu ne bakujeemera.
Our fathers did not appreciate your marvelous deeds in Egypt; they ignored your many acts of covenant faithfulness; they were rebellious at the sea, the Sea of Reeds.
8 Naye Mukama n’abalokola, olw’erinnya lye, alyoke amanyise amaanyi g’obuyinza bwe obungi.
Nevertheless, he saved them for his name's sake so that he might reveal his power.
9 Yaboggolera Ennyanja Emyufu, n’ekalira; n’abakulembera okubayisa mu buziba ng’abayita ku lukalu mu ddungu.
He rebuked the Sea of Reeds, and it dried up. Then he led them through the depths, as through a wilderness.
10 Yabawonya abalabe baabwe; n’abanunula mu mikono gy’abo ababakyawa.
He saved them from the hand of those who hated them, and he rescued them from the hand of the enemy.
11 Amazzi ne gabuutikira abalabe baabwe; ne wataba n’omu awona.
But the waters covered their adversaries; not one of them survived.
12 Olwo ne bakkiriza ebigambo bye, bye yabasuubiza; ne bayimba nga bamutendereza.
Then they believed his words, and they sang his praise.
13 Waayita akabanga katono ne beerabira ebyo byonna bye yakola; ne batawulirizanga kubuulirira kwe.
But they quickly forgot what he had done; they did not wait for his instructions.
14 Bwe baatuuka mu ddungu, okwegomba ne kubasukkirira; ne bagezesa Katonda nga bali mu lukoola olwo.
They had insatiable cravings in the wilderness, and they challenged God in the desert.
15 Bw’atyo n’abawa kye baasaba, kyokka n’abaleetera n’olumbe olw’amaanyi.
So he gave them what they requested, but he sent a horrible disease upon them.
16 Nga bali mu lusiisira baakwatirwa obuggya eri Musa ne Alooni abalonde ba Mukama.
In the camp they became jealous of Moses and Aaron, the holy priest of Yahweh.
17 Ettaka ne lyasama ne limira Dasani; Abiraamu ne banne ne libasaanyaawo.
The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan and covered the followers of Abiram.
18 Omuliro ne gukoleera ne gukwata abagoberezi baabwe; ennimi z’omuliro ne zookya aboonoonyi.
Fire broke out among them; the fire consumed the wicked.
19 Bwe baali e Kolebu ne beekolera ennyana; ne basinza ekifaananyi ekyo kye baakola mu byuma bye baasaanuusa.
They made a calf at Horeb and worshiped a cast metal figure.
20 Ekitiibwa kya Katonda ne bakiwaanyisaamu ekibumbe ekifaanana ente erya omuddo.
They traded the glory of God for the image of a bull that eats grass.
21 Ne beerabira Katonda eyabanunula, eyabakolera ebintu ebikulu bwe bityo mu Misiri,
They forgot God their Savior, who had done great deeds in Egypt.
22 ebyamagero bye yabakolera mu nsi ya Kaamu, n’ebikolwa eby’entiisa ku Nnyanja Emyufu.
He had done wonderful things in the land of Ham and mighty acts at the Sea of Reeds.
23 N’agamba nti, Ajja kubazikiriza. Naye Musa, omulonde we, n’ayimirira mu maaso ge n’amwegayirira, obusungu bwe ne bumuggwaako n’atabazikiriza.
So he said he would destroy them— had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him, to turn away his anger from destroying them.
24 Baanyooma eby’ensi ennungi, kubanga ekisuubizo kye tebaakirinaamu bwesige.
Then they despised the fruitful land; they did not believe his promise,
25 Beemulugunyiriza mu weema zaabwe, ne batagondera ddoboozi lya Mukama.
but grumbled in their tents, and did not obey Yahweh.
26 Kyeyava yeerayirira nti alibazikiririza mu ddungu,
Therefore he raised his hand and swore to them that he would let them die in the desert,
27 era nga n’abaana baabwe balisaasaanira mu mawanga ne bafiira eyo.
scatter their descendants among the nations, and scatter them in foreign lands.
28 Baatandika okusinza Baali e Peoli; ne balya ebyaweebwangayo eri bakatonda abataliimu bulamu.
They worshiped the Baal of Peor and ate the sacrifices offered to the dead.
29 Ne banyiiza Katonda olw’ebikolwa byabwe ebibi; kawumpuli kyeyava abagwamu.
They provoked him to anger with their actions, and a plague broke out among them.
30 Naye Finekaasi n’ayimirira wakati waabwe ne Katonda, kawumpuli n’agenda.
Then Phinehas rose to intervene, and the plague subsided.
31 Ekyo ne kimubalirwa nga kya butuukirivu emirembe gyonna.
It was counted to him as a righteous deed to all generations forever.
32 Bwe baatuuka okumpi n’amazzi ag’e Meriba ne banyiiza Mukama, ne baleetera Musa emitawaana;
They also angered Yahweh at the waters of Meribah, and Moses suffered because of them.
33 kubanga baajeemera ebiragiro bye, ne kimwogeza n’ebigambo ebitaali bya magezi.
They made Moses bitter, and he spoke rashly.
34 Abantu be baalwanyisa tebaabazikiriza nga Mukama bwe yali abalagidde,
They did not destroy the nations as Yahweh had commanded them,
35 naye beetabika n’abannaggwanga ago ne bayiga empisa zaabwe.
but they mingled with the nations and learned their ways
36 Baasinza ebifaananyi ebikole n’emikono eby’amawanga ago ne bibafuukira omutego.
and worshiped their idols, which became a snare to them.
37 Baawaayo batabani baabwe ne bawala baabwe eri bakatonda abo.
They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons.
38 Ne bayiwa omusaayi gwa batabani baabwe ne bawala baabwe abataliiko musango, be baawangayo eri ebifaananyi ebikole n’emikono Abakanani bye baakola, ensi n’eyonoonebwa n’omusaayi gwabwe.
They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, desecrating the land with blood.
39 Beeyonoona olw’ebyo bye baakola, ebikolwa byabwe ne bibafuula abataliimu nsa nga bavudde ku Katonda waabwe.
They were defiled by their deeds; in their actions they were like prostitutes.
40 Mukama kyeyava asunguwalira abantu be, n’akyawa ezzadde lye.
So Yahweh was angry with his people, and he despised his own people.
41 N’abawaayo eri amawanga amalala, abalabe ne babafuga.
He gave them into the hand of the nations, and those who hated them ruled over them.
42 Abalabe baabwe ne babanyigiriza, ne babatuntuza nnyo ddala.
Their enemies oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection to their authority.
43 Yabawonyanga abalabe baabwe emirundi mingi, naye obujeemu ne bubalemeramu, ebibi byabwe ne bigenda nga bibasaanyaawo.
Many times he came to help them, but they kept rebelling and were brought low by their own sin.
44 Naye bwe yawulira okukaaba kwabwe, n’abakwatirwa ekisa;
Nevertheless, he paid attention to their distress when he heard their cry for help.
45 ku lwabwe, n’ajjukira endagaano ye; okwagala kwe okungi ne kumuleetera okukyusa ekirowoozo kye.
He called to mind his covenant with them and relented because of his steadfast love.
46 N’abaleetera okusaasirwa abo abaabawambanga.
He caused all their conquerers to have pity on them.
47 Ayi Mukama Katonda, otulokole, otukuŋŋaanye, otuggye mu mawanga, tulyoke twebazenga erinnya lyo ettukuvu, era tusanyukenga nga tukutendereza.
Save us, Yahweh, our God. Gather us from among the nations so that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praises.
48 Mukama atenderezebwenga, Katonda wa Isirayiri, emirembe n’emirembe. Abantu bonna ka boogere nti, “Amiina!” Mumutendereze Mukama.
May Yahweh, the God of Israel, be praised from everlasting to everlasting. All the people said, “Amen.” Praise Yahweh.
