1 Minzaani eteri ya mazima ya muzizo eri Mukama, naye ebipimo ebituufu bye bimusanyusa.
A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.
2 Amalala bwe gajja, ng’obuswavu butuuse, naye obwetoowaze buleeta amagezi.
When pride comes, then comes shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.
3 Obwesimbu bw’abatuukirivu bubaluŋŋamya, naye enkwe z’abatali beesigwa zibazikirizisa.
The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
4 Obugagga tebugasa ku lunaku olw’okusalirwako omusango, naye obutuukirivu buwonya okufa.
Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivers from death.
5 Obutuukirivu bw’abalongoofu bubatambuliza mu kkubo eggolokofu naye abakozi b’ebibi bagwa olw’ebikolwa byabwe ebibi.
The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
6 Obutuukirivu bw’abagolokofu bubawonya, naye abatali beesigwa bagwa mu mutego olw’okwegomba ebibi.
The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.
7 Omukozi w’ebibi bw’afa, essuubi lye libula, ne byonna bye yasuubira mu maanyi bikoma.
When a wicked man dies, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perishes.
8 Omutuukirivu aggyibwa mu mitawaana, naye jjijjira omukozi w’ebibi.
The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked comes in his stead.
9 Akamwa k’oyo atatya Katonda, kazikiriza muliraanwa, naye olw’okumanya, abatuukirivu bawona.
An hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
10 Abatuukirivu bwe bakulaakulana ekibuga kijaguza; abakozi b’ebibi bwe bazikirira wawulirwawo amaloboozi ag’essanyu.
When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.
11 Omukisa gw’abatuukirivu gukulaakulanya ekibuga: naye olw’akamwa k’abakozi b’ebibi, ekibuga kizikirizibwa.
By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
12 Omuntu atalina magezi anyooma muliraanwa we, naye omuntu ategeera akuuma olulimi lwe.
He that is void of wisdom despises his neighbor: but a man of understanding holds his peace.
13 Aseetula olugambo atta obwesigwa, naye omuntu omwesigwa akuuma ekyama.
A talebearer reveals secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit conceals the matter.
14 Awatali kuluŋŋamizibwa eggwanga lidobonkana, naye abawi b’amagezi abangi baleeta obuwanguzi.
Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.
15 Eyeeyimirira omuntu gw’atamanyiko alibonaabona, naye oyo akyawa okweyimirira aliba bulungi.
He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hates indebtedness is sure.
16 Omukazi ow’ekisa aweebwa ekitiibwa, naye abasajja ab’amawaggali bakoma ku bugagga bwokka.
A gracious woman retains honor: and strong men retain riches.
17 Omusajja alina ekisa aganyulwa, naye alina ettima yeereetako akabi.
The merciful man does good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubles his own flesh.
18 Omukozi w’ebibi afuna empeera ey’obukuusa, naye oyo asiga eby’obutuukirivu akungula empeera eya nnama ddala.
The wicked works a deceitful work: but to him that sows righteousness shall be a sure reward.
19 Omuntu omutuukirivu ddala alifuna obulamu, naye oyo akola ebitali bya butuukirivu alifa.
As righteousness tends to life: so he that pursues evil pursues it to his own death.
20 Mukama akyawa abantu abalina emitima emikyamu, naye ab’amakubo amagolokofu be bamusanyusa.
They that are of a fraudulent heart are abomination to the LORD: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.
21 Mutegeerere ddala ng’abakozi b’ebibi tebalirema kubonerezebwa, naye bazzukulu b’abatuukirivu tebalibaako musango.
Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
22 Ng’empeta ya zaabu mu nnyindo y’embizzi, bw’atyo bw’abeera omukazi omulungi atalaba njawulo wakati w’ekirungi n’ekibi.
As a jewel of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.
23 Abatuukirivu bye beegomba bivaamu birungi byereere, naye abakozi b’ebibi bye bakola bisunguwaza.
The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.
24 Omuntu agaba obuteerekereza, yeeyongera bweyongezi kugaggawala; naye akwatirira kye yandigabye, yeeyongera kwavuwala.
There is that scatters, and yet increases; and there is that withholds more than is meet, but it tends to poverty.
25 Omuntu agaba anagaggawalanga, n’oyo ayamba talibulako amuyamba.
The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that waters shall be watered also himself.
26 Abantu bakolimira oyo akweka eŋŋaano mu kiseera eky’obwetaavu, naye oyo agitunda mu kiseera ekyo afuna emikisa.
He that withholds corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be on the head of him that sells it.
27 Oyo anyiikira okukola obulungi afuna okuganja, naye oyo anoonya ekibi, kimujjira.
He that diligently seeks good procures favor: but he that seeks mischief, it shall come to him.
28 Oyo eyeesiga obugagga bwe aligwa, naye abatuukirivu banaakulaakulananga ne baba ng’amalagala amalamu.
He that trusts in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.
29 Omuntu aleeta emitawaana mu maka g’ewaabwe, alisikira mpewo; era n’omusirusiru aliba muddu w’oyo alina omutima ogw’amagezi.
He that troubles his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.
30 Ekibala ky’omutuukirivu muti gwa bulamu, era n’oyo asikiriza emyoyo gy’abantu ne balokoka wa magezi.
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that wins souls is wise.
31 Obanga omutuukirivu alifuna ekimusaanidde ku nsi kuno, oyo atatya Katonda n’omwonoonyi balirema obutafuna ekibasaanidde?
Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.
