1 Bbugwe bwe yaggwa okuzimba nga n’enzigi ziwangiddwamu, abakuumi ba wankaaki, n’abayimbi, n’Abaleevi nga bamaze okulondebwa,
And it cometh to pass, when the wall hath been built, that I set up the doors, and the gatekeepers are appointed, and the singers, and the Levites,
2 ne ndyoka nonda muganda wange Kanani awamu ne Kananiya omuduumizi w’ekigo okuvunaanyizibwanga Yerusaalemi, kubanga Kananiya yali yeesigika, ate ng’atya Katonda okusinga abantu abalala bangi.
and I charge Hanani my brother, and Hananiah head of the palace, concerning Jerusalem — for he [is] as a man of truth, and fearing God above many —
3 Ne mbagamba nti, “Emiryango gya Yerusaalemi tegiteekwa kuggulwawo okutuusa ng’omusana tegunnakaalama nnyo. Abakuumi nga bakyali ku miryango, muggaleewo muginywereze ddala. Mu batuuze ba Yerusaalemi, mulondemu abanaakuumanga, abamu ku bo bakuumenga mu mpalo n’abalala bakuumenga ebifo ebiriraanye ennyumba zaabwe.”
and I say to them, 'Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened till the heat of the sun, and while they are standing by let them shut the doors, and fasten, and appoint guards of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, each in his guard, and each over-against his house.'
4 Ekibuga kyali kinene era nga kigazi naye abantu abaakibeerangamu nga batono, nga n’ennyumba tezinnaddaabirizibwa.
And the city [is] broad on both sides, and great, and the people [are] few in its midst, and there are no houses builded;
5 Awo Katonda wange nannumiriza, okuyita abakungu n’abakulembeze, n’abantu abaabulijjo okujja okwewandiisa ng’ennyiriri zaabwe bwe zaali. Ne ndaba ekitabo ekyalimu ennyiriri zaabo abaasooka okudda, ne nsangamu amannya gano:
and my God putteth it unto my heart, and I gather the freeman, and the prefects, and the people, for the genealogy, and I find a book of the genealogy of those coming up at the beginning, and I find written in it: —
6 Bano be bantu ab’omu ssaza abaava mu buwaŋŋanguse abaali banyagiddwa Nebukadduneeza kabaka w’e Babulooni; ne baddayo e Yerusaalemi ne Yuda, buli muntu mu kibuga ky’ewaabwe.
These [are] sons of the province, those coming up of the captives of the removal that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon removed — and they turn back to Jerusalem and to Judah, each to his city —
7 Bajja ne Zerubbaberi, ne Yesuwa, ne Nekkemiya, ne Azaliya, ne Laamiya, ne Nakamani, ne Moluddekaayi, ne Birusani, ne Misuperesi, ne Biguvaayi, ne Nekumu ne Baana. Gano ge mannya g’Abasajja ba Isirayiri:
who are coming in with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah. Number of the men of the people of Israel:
8 bazzukulu ba Palosi baali enkumi bbiri mu kikumi mu nsavu mu babiri,
Sons of Parosh: two thousand a hundred and seventy and two.
9 bazzukulu ba Sefatiya baali bisatu mu nsavu mu babiri,
Sons of Shephatiah: three hundred seventy and two.
10 bazzukulu ba Ala baali lukaaga mu ataano mu babiri,
Sons of Arah: six hundred fifty and two.
11 bazzukulu ba Pakasumowaabu abaali ab’olunnyiriri lwa Yesuwa ne Yowaabu baali enkumi bbiri mu lunaana mu kumi na munaana,
Sons of Pahath-Moab, of the sons of Jeshua and Joab: two thousand and eight hundred [and] eighteen.
12 bazzukulu ba Eramu baali lukumi mu bibiri mu ataano mu bana,
Sons of Elam: a thousand two hundred fifty and four.
13 bazzukulu ba Zattu baali lunaana mu ana mu bataano,
Sons of Zattu: eight hundred forty and five.
14 bazzukulu ba Zakkayi baali lusanvu mu nkaaga,
Sons of Zaccai: seven hundred and sixty.
15 bazzukulu ba Binnuyi baali lukaaga mu ana mu munaana,
Sons of Binnui: six hundred forty and eight.
16 bazzukulu ba Bebayi baali lukaaga mu abiri mu munaana,
Sons of Bebai: six hundred twenty and eight.
17 bazzukulu ba Azugaadi baali enkumi bbiri mu bisatu mu abiri mu babiri,
Sons of Azgad: two thousand three hundred twenty and two.
18 bazzukulu ba Adonikamu baali lukaaga mu nkaaga mu musanvu,
Sons of Adonikam: six hundred sixty and seven.
19 bazzukulu ba Biguvaayi baali enkumi bbiri mu nkaaga mu musanvu,
Sons of Bigvai: two thousand sixty and seven.
20 bazzukulu ba Adini baali lukaaga mu ataano mu bataano,
Sons of Adin: six hundred fifty and five.
21 bazzukulu ba Ateri ow’olunnyiriri lwa Keezeekiya baali kyenda mu munaana,
Sons of Ater of Hezekiah: ninety and eight.
22 bazzukulu ba Kasumu baali bisatu mu abiri mu munaana,
Sons of Hashum: three hundred twenty and eight.
23 bazzukulu ba Bezayi baali bisatu mu abiri mu bana,
Sons of Bezai: three hundred twenty and four.
24 bazzukulu ba Kalifu baali kikumi mu kumi na babiri,
Sons of Hariph: a hundred [and] twelve.
25 bazzukulu ba Gibyoni baali kyenda mu bataano.
Sons of Gibeon: ninety and five.
26 Abaava e Besirekemu n’e Netofa baali kikumi mu kinaana mu munaana,
Men of Beth-Lehem and Netophah: a hundred eighty and eight.
27 ab’e Anasosi baali kikumi mu abiri mu munaana,
Men of Anathoth: a hundred twenty and eight.
28 ab’e Besuwazumavesi baali amakumi ana mu babiri,
Men of Beth-Azmaveth: forty and two.
29 ab’e Kiriyasuyalimu, n’e Kefira n’e Beerosi baali lusanvu mu ana mu basatu,
Men of Kirjath-Jearim, Chephirah, and Beeroth: seven hundred forty and three.
30 ab’e Laama n’e Geba lukaaga mu abiri mu omu,
Men of Ramah and Gaba: six hundred twenty and one.
31 ab’e Mikumasi kikumi mu abiri mu babiri,
Men of Michmas: a hundred and twenty and two.
32 ab’e Beseri n’e Ayi baali kikumi mu abiri mu basatu,
Men of Bethel and Ai: a hundred twenty and three.
33 ab’e Nebo ekyokubiri baali amakumi ataano mu babiri,
Men of the other Nebo: fifty and two.
34 ab’e Eramu ekyokubiri baali lukumi mu bibiri mu ataano mu bana,
Sons of the other Elam: a thousand two hundred fifty and four.
35 ab’e Kalimu baali bisatu mu abiri,
Sons of Harim: three hundred and twenty.
36 ab’e Yeriko baali bisatu mu ana mu bataano,
Sons of Jericho: three hundred forty and five.
37 ab’e Loodi, n’e Kadidi ne Ono baali lusanvu mu abiri mu omu,
Sons of Lod, Hadid, and Ono: seven hundred and twenty and one.
38 n’ab’e Sena baali enkumi ssatu mu lwenda mu asatu.
Sons of Senaah: three thousand nine hundred and thirty.
39 Bano be bakabona: bazzukulu ba Yedaya ow’olunnyiriri lwa Yesuwa baali lwenda mu nsavu mu basatu,
The priests: sons of Jedaiah: of the house of Jeshua: nine hundred seventy and three;
40 bazzukulu ba Immeri baali lukumi mu amakumi ataano mu babiri,
sons of Immer: a thousand fifty and two;
41 bazzukulu ba Pasukuli baali lukumi mu bibiri mu ana mu musanvu,
sons of Pashur: a thousand two hundred forty and seven;
42 ne bazzukulu ba Kalimu baali lukumi mu kumi na musanvu.
sons of Harim: a thousand and seventeen.
43 Ne bano be Baleevi: bazzukulu ba Yesuwa ow’olunnyiriri lwa Kadumyeri mu nda ya Kodeva baali nsavu mu bana.
The Levites: sons of Jeshua, of Kadmiel: of sons of Hodevah: seventy and four.
44 Abayimbi: bazzukulu ba Asafu baali kikumi mu amakumi ana mu munaana.
The singers: sons of Asaph: a hundred forty and eight.
45 Abaakuumanga wankaaki baali: bazzukulu ba Sallumu, bazzukulu ba Ateri, bazzukulu ba Talumoni, bazzukulu ba Akkubu, bazzukulu ba Katita, ne bazzukulu ba Sobayi nga bali kikumi mu amakumi asatu mu munaana.
The gatekeepers: sons of Shallum, sons of Ater, sons of Talmon, sons of Akkub, sons of Hatita, sons of Shobai: a hundred thirty and eight.
46 Abaaweerezanga mu yeekaalu be bano: bazzukulu ba Zika, bazzukulu ba Kasufa, bazzukulu ba Tabbawoosi,
The Nethinim: sons of Ziha, sons of Hasupha, sons of Tabbaoth,
47 bazzukulu ba Keriso, bazzukulu ba Siya, bazzukulu ba Padoni,
sons of Keros, sons of Sia, sons of Padon,
48 bazzukulu ba Lebana, bazzukulu ba Kagaba, bazzukulu ba Samulaayi,
sons of Lebanah, sons of Hagaba, sons of Shalmai,
49 bazzukulu ba Kanani, bazzukulu ba Gidderi, bazzukulu ba Gakali,
sons of Hanan, sons of Giddel, sons of Gahar,
50 bazzukulu ba Leyaya, bazzukulu ba Lezini, bazzukulu ba Nekoda,
sons of Reaiah, sons of Rezin, sons of Nekoda,
51 bazzukulu ba Gazzamu, bazzukulu ba Uzza, bazzukulu ba Paseya,
sons of Gazzam, sons of Uzza, sons of Phaseah,
52 bazzukulu ba Besayi, bazzukulu ba Meyunimu, bazzukulu ba Nefisimu,
sons of Bezai, sons of Meunim, sons of Nephishesim,
53 bazzukulu ba Bakubuki, bazzukulu ba Kakufa, bazzukulu ba Kalukuli,
sons of Bakbuk, sons of Hakupha, sons of Harhur,
54 bazzukulu ba Bazulusi, bazzukulu ba Mekida, bazzukulu ba Kalusa,
sons of Bazlith, sons of Mehida, sons of Harsha,
55 bazzukulu ba Balukosi, bazzukulu ba Sisera, bazzukulu ba Tema,
sons of Barkos, sons of Sisera, sons of Tamah,
56 bazzukulu ba Neziya, ne bazzukulu ba Katifa.
sons of Neziah, sons of Hatipha.
57 Bazzukulu b’abaweereza ba Sulemaani be bano: bazzukulu ba Sotayi, bazzukulu ba Soferesi, bazzukulu ba Perida,
Sons of the servants of Solomon: sons of Sotai, sons of Sophereth, sons of Perida,
58 bazzukulu ba Yaala, bazzukulu ba Dalukoni, bazzukulu ba Gidderi,
sons of Jaala, sons of Darkon, sons of Giddel,
59 bazzukulu ba Sefatiya, bazzukulu ba Kattiri, bazzukulu ba Pokeresukazzebayimu, ne bazzukulu ba Amoni.
sons of Shephatiah, sons of Hattil, sons of Pochereth of Zebaim, sons of Amon.
60 Omuwendo ogw’abaaweerezanga mu yeekaalu ne bazzukulu b’abaweereza ba Sulemaani bonna awamu, gwali bisatu mu kyenda mu babiri.
All the Nethinim and the sons of the servants of Solomon [are] three hundred ninety and two.
61 Bano wammanga be baava mu bibuga eby’e Temmeera, n’e Terukalusa, n’e Kerubu, n’e Yaddoni, n’e Immeri, naye tebaalina bukakafu bulaga lulyo lwabwe newaakubadde ensibuko gye baava, nti Bayisirayiri:
And these [are] those coming up from Tel-Melah, Tel-Harsha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer — and they have not been able to declare the house of their fathers, and their seed, whether they [are] of Israel —
62 bazzukulu ba Deraya, bazzukulu ba Tobiya, ne bazzukulu ba Nekoda baali lukaaga mu amakumi ana mu babiri.
sons of Delaiah, sons of Tobiah, sons of Nekoda, six hundred forty and two.
63 Ne ku bakabona kwaliko bazzukulu ba Kobaya, bazzukulu ba Kakkozi, ne bazzukulu ba Baluzirayi, eyawasa muwala wa Baluzirayi Omugireyaadi, era n’atuumibwa erinnya eryo.
And of the priests: sons of Habaiah sons of Koz, sons of Barzillai, who hath taken from the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite a wife, and is called by their name.
64 Abo waggulu ne banoonya amannya gaabwe mu biwandiiko naye nga tegaliimu, kyebaava baziyizibwa okubeera bakabona nga bayitibwa abatali balongoofu.
These have sought their register among those reckoning themselves by genealogy, and it hath not been found, and they are redeemed from the priesthood,
65 Era owessaza n’abagaana okulya ku bintu ebitukuvu, okutuusa nga kabona alina Ulimu ne Sumimu azze.
and the Tirshatha saith to them that they eat not of the most holy things till the standing up of the priest with Urim and Thummim.
66 Ekibiina kyonna awamu kyali emitwalo ena mu enkumi bbiri mu bisatu mu nkaaga,
All the assembly together [is] four myriads two thousand three hundred and sixty,
67 obutassaako baweereza baabwe abasajja n’abaweereza baabwe abakazi abaali akasanvu mu bisatu mu asatu mu musanvu; ate nga baalina n’abayimbi abasajja n’abakazi bibiri mu ana mu bataano.
apart from their servants and their handmaids — these [are] seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven; and of them [are] singers and songstresses, two hundred forty and five.
68 Baalina embalaasi lusanvu mu asatu mu mukaaga, ennyumbu ebikumi bibiri mu ana mu ttaano,
Their horses [are] seven hundred thirty and six; their mules, two hundred [and] forty and five;
69 n’eŋŋamira ebikumi bina mu asatu mu ttaano, n’endogoyi kakaaga mu lusanvu mu abiri.
camels, four hundred thirty and five; asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.
70 Abamu ku bakulu b’obusolya baawaayo ensimbi okukola omulimu. Gavana n’awaayo, kilo munaana n’ekitundu eza zaabu, n’ebbensani amakumi ataano, n’ebyambalo bya bakabona ebikumi bitaano mu asatu mu ggwanika.
And from the extremity of the heads of the fathers they have given to the work; the Tirshatha hath given to the treasure, of gold, drams a thousand, bowls fifty, priests' coats thirty and five hundred.
71 Abamu ku bakulu b’obusolya ne baawaayo kilo kikumi mu nsanvu eza zaabu, ne ttani emu n’obutundu bubiri obwa ffeeza mu ggwanika, olw’omulimu ogwali gukolebwa.
And of the heads of the fathers they have given to the treasure of the work, of gold, drams two myriads, and of silver, pounds two thousand and two hundred.
72 Omuwendo gwonna awamu ogwawebwayo abantu abalala gwali kilo kikumi mu nsanvu eza zaabu, ne ttani emu n’akatundu kamu aka ffeeza, n’ebyambalo bya bakabona nkaaga mu musanvu.
And that which the rest of the people have given [is] of gold, drams two myriads, and of silver, pounds two thousand, and of priests coats, sixty and seven.
73 Awo bakabona, n’Abaleevi, n’abaakuumanga wankaaki, n’abayimbi, n’abamu ku bantu, abaaweerezanga mu yeekaalu, ne Isirayiri yenna, ne batereera mu bibuga byabwe. Awo mu mwezi ogw’omusanvu,
And they dwell — the priests, and the Levites, and the gatekeepers, and the singers, and [some] of the people, and the Nethinim, and all Israel — in their cities, and the seventh month cometh, and the sons of Israel [are] in their cities.
