Now, upon the sealed writings, were, —Nehemiah the governor, son of Hacaliah, and Zedekiah;

Maaziah, Bilgai, Shemaiah, —these, were, the priests.
9 Abaleevi be bano: Yesuwa mutabani wa Azaniya, ne Binnuyi batabani ba Kenadaadi ne Kadimiyeeri
And, the Levites, —Jeshua, son of Azaniah, Binnui, of the sons of Henadad, Kadmiel;
10 n’abaabayambangako be ba Sebaniya, ne Kodiya, ne Kerita, ne Peraya, ne Kanani,
and, their brethren, —Shebaniah, Hodiah, Kelita, Pelaiah, Hanan;
11 ne Mikka, ne Lekobu, ne Kasabiya,
Mica, Rehob, Hashabiah;
12 ne Zakkuli, ne Serebiya, ne Sebaniya,
Zaccur, Sherebiah, Shebaniah;

28 “Abantu abalala bakabona, n’Abaleevi, n’abaakuumanga wankaaki, n’abayimbi, n’abaweereza b’omu yeekaalu, n’abo bonna abeeyawula ku mawanga agaali gabaliraanye olw’Amateeka ga Katonda, awamu ne bakyala baabwe, ne batabani baabwe bonna ne bawala baabwe bonna; bonna abamanyi era abategeera
And, the rest of the people—the priests, the Levites, the doorkeepers, the singers, the Nethinim, and all who had separated themselves from the peoples of the lands unto the law of God, their wives, their sons and their daughters, —every one having knowledge and understanding,
29 beegatte ku baganda baabwe abakungu balayire okugobereranga Amateeka ga Katonda agaabaweebwa Musa omuddu wa Katonda, n’okugonderanga, amateeka gonna, n’ebiragiro, byonna ebya Mukama Katonda waffe.
were holding fast unto their distinguished brethren, and were entering into a curse and into an oath, to walk in the law of God, which was given through Moses the servant of God, —and to observe and do, all the commandments of Yahweh our Lord, and his regulations, and his statutes;
30 “Tusuubiza obutafumbiza bawala baffe mu bantu abatwetoolodde, newaakubadde okukkiriza batabani baffe okuwasa bawala baabwe.
and that we would not give our daughters unto the peoples of the land, —and, their daughters, would we not take for our sons;
31 “Abantu abamawanga agatwetoolodde, bwe banaaleetanga ebyamaguzi oba ebyokulya okubitunda ku lunaku olwa ssabbiiti, tetuubibagulengako ku Ssabbiiti newaakubadde ku lunaku olwatukuzibwa olulala lwonna. Buli mwaka ogw’omusanvu tetuulimenga ttaka lyaffe, era tunaasonyiwanga be tubanja bonna.
and, if the peoples of the land should be bringing in wares, or any corn on the sabbath day, to sell, we would not buy of them on the sabbath, or on a holy day, —and that we would remit the seventh year, and the loan of every hand.
32 “Tunaatwalanga obuvunaanyizibwa okuwangayo eri Katonda waffe kimu kya kusatu ekya sekeri buli mwaka olw’obuweereza mu nnyumba ya Katonda waffe:
And we laid on ourselves charges, appointing for ourselves the third of a shekel, yearly, —for the service of the house of our God:
33 olw’emigaati egy’okulaga; olw’ekiweebwayo eky’obutta ekya buli kiseera, n’olw’ekiweebwayo ekyokebwa ekya buli kiseera, n’olw’ebiweebwayo ebya Ssabbiiti, n’eby’embaga y’omwezi ogwakaboneka, n’embaga ezaateekebwawo n’olw’ebintu ebyatukuzibwa; n’olw’ebiweebwayo olw’ekibi okutangiririra Isirayiri; n’olw’emirimu gyonna egy’omu nnyumba ya Katonda waffe.
for the bread to set in array, and the continual meal-offering, and for the continual ascending-sacrifice, of the sabbaths, of the new moons, for the appointed feasts, and for things hallowed, and for victims bearing sin, to put a propitiatory-covering over Israel, —and for all the work of the house of our God.
34 “Ffe bakabona, n’Abaleevi, n’abantu twekubidde obululu okumanya ebiseera ennyumba zaffe mwe zinaaleeteranga enku mu nnyumba ya Katonda waffe, okwakanga mu kyoto kya Mukama Katonda waffe nga kyaka buli mwaka, nga bwe kyawandiikibwa mu mateeka.
Also, lots, did we cast, concerning the offering of wood among the priests, the Levites, and the people, to bring it unto the house of our God, by our ancestral houses, at times arranged, year by year, —to burn upon the altar of Yahweh our God, as it is written in the law.
35 “Ate era tutwala obuvunaanyizibwa okulaba nga buli mwaka tuleeta mu nnyumba ya Mukama ebibala ebisooka ku bisimbe byaffe ne ku buli muti ogubala ebibala.
And that we would bring in the firstfruits of our ground, and the firstfruit of all fruit of all trees, year by year, —unto the house of Yahweh;
36 “Era nga bwe kyawandiikibwa mu mateeka, tunaaletanga abaana aboobulenzi ababereberye, n’ennyana ennume ezisooka ez’ente zaffe, n’ennyana z’amagana gaffe, n’ez’ebisibo byaffe, eri bakabona abaweerereza mu nnyumba ya Katonda waffe.
also that, the firstborn of our sons, and of our cattle, as it is written in the law, —and the firstlings of our herds and of our flocks, we would bring in unto the house of our God, unto the priests who should be in attendance in the house of our God;
37 “Tunaaleetanga mu mawanika g’ennyumba ya Katonda waffe, eri bakabona, ekitole ekibereberye ku mmere gye tunaabanga tugoyezza, ne ku biweebwayo byaffe, ne ku bibala ebya buli muti gwaffe ebiriibwa, ne ku wayini waffe, ne ku mafuta. Ate era tunaaleeteranga Abaleevi ekimu eky’ekkumi ku bimera byaffe, kubanga Abaleevi be bakuŋŋaanya ebitundu eby’ekkumi mu byalo byaffe byonna gye tulimira.
and, the first part of our meal and our heave-offerings and the fruit of all trees, new wine and oil, would we bring in unto the priests, into the chambers of the house of our God, and the tithe of our ground unto the Levites, —the Levites themselves, taking the tithes in all our cities of agriculture.
38 Kabona, ow’omu lulyo lwa Alooni, yanaawerekeranga abaleevi, bwe banaabanga bagenze okukima ebitundu eby’ekkumi, era Abaleevi banaaleetanga kimu kya kkumi ku bitundu eby’ekkumi mu nnyumba ya Katonda waffe, mu bisenge, mu mawanika.
And the priest the son of Aaron should be with the Levites, when the Levites should take the tithes, —and the Levites, should bring up the tithe of the tithe, unto the house of our God, into the chambers pertaining unto the treasure-house.
39 Abantu ba Isirayiri okwo nga kw’otadde n’Abaleevi, banaaleetanga ebirabo byabwe eby’emmere ey’empeke, ne wayini omuggya, n’omuzigo mu mawanika, ebintu eby’omu kifo ekitukuvu gye biterekebwa, era bakabona abaweereza, n’abakuuma wankaaki n’abayimbi gye babeera. “Tetuulagajjalirenga nnyumba ya Katonda waffe.”
For, into the chambers, should the sons of Israel and the sons of Levi bring in the heave-offering of the corn, the new wine and the oil, since, there, are the utensils of the sanctuary, and the priests who are in attendance, and the doorkeepers, and the singers, —so would we not neglect the house of our God.
