1 Luno lwe lulyo lwa Yesu Kristo, omwana wa Dawudi omwana wa Ibulayimu:
The Lineage Roll of Jesus Christ, —Son of David, Son of Abraham.
2 Ibulayimu yazaala Isaaka, Isaaka n’azaala Yakobo, Yakobo n’azaala Yuda ne baganda be.
Abraham begat Isaac, and Isaac begat Jacob, and Jacob, begat Judah and his brethren;
3 Yuda n’azaala Pereezi ne Zeera mu Tamali, Pereezi n’azaala Kezirooni, Kezirooni n’azaala Laamu.
And Judah begat Perez and Zarah of Tamah, and Perez begat Hezron, and Hezron begat Ram;
4 Laamu yazaala Aminadaabu, Aminadaabu n’azaala Nasoni, Nasoni n’azaala Salumooni.
And Ram begat Amminadab, and Amminadab begat Nashon, and Nashon begat Salmon;
5 Salumooni yazaala Bowaazi mu Lakabu, Bowaazi n’azaala Obedi mu Luusi. Obedi n’azaala Yese.
And Salmon begat Boaz of Rahab, and Boaz begat Obed of Ruth, and Obed begat Jesse;
6 Yese yazaala Kabaka Dawudi. Dawudi n’azaala Sulemaani mu eyali muka Uliya.
And Jesse begat David the King. And David begat Solomon of her [that had been the wife] of Uriah;
7 Sulemaani yazaala Lekobowaamu, Lekobowaamu n’azaala Abiya, Abiya n’azaala Asa.
And Solomon begat Rehoboam, and Rehoboam begat Abijah, and Abijah begat Asa;
8 Asa n’azaala Yekosafaati, Yekosafaati n’azaala Yolaamu, Yolaamu n’azaala Uzziya.
And Asa begat Jehoshaphat, and Jehoshaphat begat Joram, and Joram begat Uzziah;
9 Uzziya n’azaala Yosamu, Yosamu n’azaala Akazi, Akazi n’azaala Keezeekiya.
And Uzziah begat Jotham, and Jotham begat Ahaz, and Ahaz begat Hezekiah:
10 Keezeekiya n’azaala Manaase, Manaase n’azaala Amosi, Amosi n’azaala Yosiya.
And Hezekiah begat Manasseh, and Manasseh begat Amon, and Amon begat Josiah;
11 Yosiya n’azaala Yekoniya ne baganda be mu kiseera eky’okutwalibwa e Babulooni.
And Josiah begat Jechoniah, and his brethren, —upon the removal to Babylon.
12 Nga bamaze okutwalibwa e Babulooni: Yekoniya n’azaala Seyalutyeri, Seyalutyeri n’azaala Zerubbaberi.
And, after the removal to Babylon, Jechoniah begat Shealtiel, and Shealtiel begat Zerubbabel;
13 Zerubbaberi n’azaala Abiwuudi, Abiwuudi n’azaala Eriyakimu, Eriyakimu n’azaala Azoli.
And Zerubbabel begat Abiud, and Abiud begat Eliakim, and Eliakim begat Azor;
14 Azoli n’azaala Zadooki, Zadooki n’azaala Akimu, Akimu n’azaala Eriwuudi.
And Azor begat Sadoc, and Sadoc begat Achim, and Achim begat Eliud;
15 Eriwuudi n’azaala Eriyazaali, Eriyazaali n’azaala Mataani, Mataani n’azaala Yakobo.
And Eliud begat Eleazar, and Eleazar begat Matthan, and Matthan begat Jacob; —
16 Yakobo n’azaala Yusufu, oyo ye bba wa Maliyamu eyazaala Yesu ayitibwa Kristo.
And Jacob begat Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, —who is called Christ.
17 Noolwekyo emirembe gyonna okuva ku Ibulayimu okutuuka ku Dawudi gyali kkumi n’ena, era okuva ku Dawudi okutuuka ku kuwaŋŋaangusibwa e Babulooni, emirembe kkumi n’ena, era okuva ku kuwaŋŋaangusibwa e Babulooni okutuuka ku Kristo, nagyo emirembe kkumi n’ena.
So then, all the generations from Abraham unto David, are, fourteen, generations, and, from David unto the removal to Babylon, fourteen, generations; and, from the removal to Babylon unto the Christ, fourteen, generations.
18 Okuzaalibwa kwa Yesu Kristo kwali bwe kuti: Maliyamu nnyina bwe yali ng’akyayogerezebwa Yusufu, era nga tebanaba kufumbiriganwa n’alabika ng’ali lubuto ku bwa Mwoyo Omutukuvu.
Now the birth, of [Jesus] Christ, was, thus: His mother Mary having been betrothed to Joseph, —before they came together, she was found with child by [the] Holy Spirit.
19 Awo Yusufu eyali amwogereza, olwokubanga yali muntu mulungi n’asalawo mu mutima gwe okumuleka, naye ng’ayagala akikole mu kyama aleme kukwasa Maliyamu nsonyi.
Moreover, Joseph her husband, being, righteous, and yet unwilling to expose her, —intended, privately, to divorce her.
20 Naye bwe yali ng’agalamidde ku kitanda kye ng’akyabirowoozaako, n’afuna ekirooto; n’alaba malayika wa Mukama ng’ayimiridde w’ali, n’amugamba nti, “Yusufu, omwana wa Dawudi, totya kutwala Maliyamu okuba mukazi wo! Kubanga olubuto lw’alina yalufuna ku bwa Mwoyo Mutukuvu.
But, when, these things, he had pondered, lo! a messenger of the Lord, by dream, appeared to him, saying, —Joseph, son of David! do not fear to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for, that which, in her, hath been begotten, is of [the], Holy, Spirit.
21 Era alizaala Omwana wabulenzi, olimutuuma erinnya Yesu, (amakulu nti, ‘Omulokozi’) kubanga y’alirokola abantu bonna mu bibi byabwe.”
Moreover she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus, —for, he, will save his people from their sins.
22 Bino byonna byabaawo kisobole okutuukirira ekyayogerwa Mukama ng’ayita mu nnabbi we ng’agamba nti,
But, all this, hath come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord, through the prophet, saying:
23 “Laba omuwala atamanyi musajja aliba olubuto, alizaala omwana wabulenzi, era aliyitibwa Emmanweri.” Amakulu gaalyo nti, “Katonda ali naffe.”
Lo! a Virgin, shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, —and they shall call his name Emmanuel; which is, being translated, God with us.
24 Yusufu bwe yazuukuka, n’akola nga Malayika bwe yamulagira, n’atwala Maliyamu okuba mukazi we.
And Joseph, awaking, from his sleep, did as the messenger of the Lord directed him, —and took unto him his wife;
25 Naye Yusufu n’atamumanya okutuusa lwe yamala okuzaala Omwana. Yusufu n’amutuuma erinnya Yesu.
and knew her not, until she had brought forth a son, —and he called his name Jesus.
