When they came near to Jerusalem, to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples
2 N’abalagira nti, “Mugende mu kyalo ekituli mu maaso, bwe munaaba mwakakituukamu mujja kulaba omwana gw’endogoyi oguteebagalwangako nga gusibiddwa awo. Mugusumulule mugundeetere wano.
and said to them, “Go your way into the village that is opposite you. Immediately as you enter into it, you will find a young donkey tied, on which no one has sat. Untie him and bring him.
3 Era omuntu yenna bw’ababuuza gye mugutwala, mumuddamu nti, ‘Mukama waffe y’agwetaaga, era tujja kugukomyawo mangu.’”
If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs him;’ and immediately he will send him back here.”
4 Abaatumibwa ne bagenda, ne balaba omwana gw’endogoyi nga guyimiridde ku luguudo, naye nga gusibiddwa ku muguwa wabweru w’ennyumba. Bwe baali bagusumulula,
They went away, and found a young donkey tied at the door outside in the open street, and they untied him.
5 abamu ku bantu abaali bayimiridde awo ne bababuuza nti, “Abange, omwana gw’endogoyi, musumulula gwa ki?”
Some of those who stood there asked them, “What are you doing, untying the young donkey?”
6 Abayigirizwa ne baddamu nga Yesu bwe yabagamba, ne balyoka babakkiriza okugutwala.
They said to them just as Jesus had said, and they let them go.
7 Omwana gw’endogoyi ne baguleetera Yesu. Abayigirizwa be ne baddira ebyambalo byabwe ne babyaliira ku mugongo gwayo, Yesu n’agwebagala.
They brought the young donkey to Jesus and threw their garments on it, and Jesus sat on it.
8 Awo abantu bangi abaali mu kibiina ne baaliira engoye zaabwe mu luguudo mwe yali agenda okuyita, abalala ne bamenya amatabi g’emiti mu nnimiro ezaali okumpi, nago ne bagaalira mu luguudo.
Many spread their garments on the way, and others were cutting down branches from the trees and spreading them on the road.
9 Abaali mu maaso ge n’abaali emabega we, bonna ne baleekaanira waggulu nti: “Ozaana!” “Atenderezebwe oyo ajja mu linnya lya Mukama!”
Those who went in front and those who followed cried out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
10 “Atenderezebwe olw’okukomyawo obwakabaka bwa jjajjaffe Dawudi n’okubuwa omukisa!” “Ozaana! Ayi ali waggulu ennyo!”
Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is coming in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”
11 Awo Yesu n’atuuka mu Yerusaalemi, n’ayingira mu Yeekaalu. N’atunula, ne yeetoolooza amaaso wonna, naye obudde bwali buyise, n’afuluma n’agenda e Besaniya n’abayigirizwa be ekkumi n’ababiri.
Jesus entered into the temple in Jerusalem. When he had looked around at everything, it being now evening, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.
12 Enkeera bwe baali bava e Besaniya, Yesu n’alumwa enjala.
The next day, when they had come out from Bethany, he was hungry.
13 N’alengera omutiini, nga guddugazza bulungi amalagala, n’agendayo alabe obanga anaasangako ebibala. Yagenda okugutuukako nga kuliko makoola meereere, kubanga si kye kyali ekiseera kyagwo okubaako ebibala.
Seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came to see if perhaps he might find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.
14 Awo Yesu n’agamba omuti nti, “Omuntu yenna alemenga okuddayo okulya ekibala kyo!” Abayigirizwa be ne bamuwulira ng’akyogera. (aiōn )
Jesus told it, "May no one eat fruit from you again for the age (aiōn )!" And his disciples heard it.
15 Bwe baatuuka mu Yerusaalemi n’ayingira mu Yeekaalu, n’atandika okugobamu abaali batundiramu n’abaali baguliramu, n’avuunika emmeeza z’abaali bawaanyisa ensimbi, n’avuunika n’entebe z’abatunzi b’amayiba.
They came to Jerusalem, and Jesus entered into the temple and began to throw out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and overthrew the money changers’ tables and the seats of those who sold the doves.
16 Era n’ataganya muntu kuyisa kintu kyonna.
He would not allow anyone to carry a container through the temple.
17 N’abayigiriza ng’agamba nti, “Tekyawandiikabwa nti, ‘Ennyumba yange eneebanga nnyumba ya kusabiramu amawanga?’ Naye mmwe mugifudde mpuku y’abanyazi.”
He taught, saying to them, “Is not it written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a den of robbers!”
18 Bakabona abakulu n’abannyonnyozi b’amateeka bwe baakiwulira, ne batandika okusala amagezi balabe bwe bayinza okumuzikiriza. Baali bamutya engeri ekibiina kyonna bwe kyali kyewuunya okuyigiriza kwe.
The chief priests and the scribes heard it, and sought how they might destroy him. For they feared him, because all the multitude was astonished at his teaching.
19 Obudde bwe bwawungeera Yesu n’abayigirizwa be ne bafuluma mu kibuga.
When evening came, he went out of the city.
20 Awo enkeera mu makya abayigirizwa be ne balaba omuti omutiini Yesu gwe yakolimira nga gukaze okuviira ddala ku kikolo!
As they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered away from the roots.
21 Peetero n’ajjukira n’agamba Yesu nti, “Omuyigiriza, laba omutiini gwe wakolimira gukaze!”
Peter, remembering, said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which you cursed has withered away.”
22 Yesu n’agamba abayigirizwa be nti, “Mukkiririze mu Katonda.
Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God.
23 Ddala ddala mbagamba nti buli aligamba olusozi luno nti, ‘Siguka ogwe mu nnyanja,’ n’atabuusabuusa mu mutima gwe, naye n’aba n’okukkiriza, ky’ayogedde kirituukirira.
For most certainly I tell you, whoever may tell this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is happening, he shall have whatever he says.
24 Noolwekyo mbagamba nti buli kye munaasabanga, mukkirize nti mukiweereddwa, era kinaabanga bwe kityo gye muli.
Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them.
25 Bwe mubanga mugenda okusaba musonyiwenga omuntu yenna gwe mulinako ensonga, ne Kitammwe ali mu ggulu alyoke abasonyiwe ebyonoono byammwe.
Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your transgressions.
26 Naye bwe mutaasonyiwenga, ne Kitammwe ali mu ggulu talibasonyiwa byonoono byammwe.”
But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your transgressions.”
27 Yesu n’abayigirizwa be bwe baakomawo mu Yerusaalemi yali atambulatambula mu Yeekaalu, bakabona abakulu n’abannyonnyozi b’amateeka n’abakulembeze b’Abayudaaya ne bajja gy’ali
They came again to Jerusalem, and as he was walking in the temple, the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders came to him,
28 ne bamubuuza nti, “Buyinza ki obukukoza bino? Era ani yakuwa obuyinza okukola bino?”
and they began saying to him, “By what authority do you do these things? Or who gave you this authority to do these things?”
29 Naye Yesu n’abaddamu nti, “Bwe munaamala okunziramu ekibuuzo kyange kimu, nange n’ababuulira eyampa obuyinza obwo!
Jesus said to them, “I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
30 Okubatiza kwa Yokaana kwava mu ggulu oba kwava eri bantu? Munziremu!”
The baptism of John—was it from heaven, or from men? Answer me.”
31 Ne bakubaganya ebirowoozo bokka na bokka nti, “Bwe tuddamu nti, ‘Kwava mu ggulu,’ ajja kutubuuza nti, ‘Kale, lwaki temwamukkiriza?’
They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we should say, ‘From heaven;’ he will say, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’
32 Naye, ate bwe tuddamu nti, ‘Kwava eri bantu.’” Baali batya ekibiina ky’abantu. Kubanga buli muntu yalowooza Yokaana okuba nnabbi.
If we should say, ‘From men’”—they feared the people, for all held John to really be a prophet.
33 Ne baddamu Yesu nti, “Tetumanyi.” Awo Yesu n’abaddamu nti, “Nange sijja kubabuulira obuyinza obunkoza ebintu ebyo gye mbuggya.”
They answered Jesus, “We do not know.” Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”
