< Makko 10 >

1 Awo n’agolokoka n’ava eyo n’alaga mu kitundu kya Buyudaaya okusukka emitala wa Yoludaani. Ebibiina ne bimuguberera era naye n’abayigiriza nga bwe yakolanga bulijjo.
And rising up, he went from there into the area of Judea beyond the Jordan. And again, the crowd came together before him. And just as he was accustomed to do, again he taught them.
2 Abamu ku Bafalisaayo ne bajja ne bamubuuza balyoke bamukwase, nga babuuza nti, “Kikkirizibwa omusajja okugoba mukazi we?”
And approaching, the Pharisees questioned him, testing him: “Is it lawful for a man to dismiss his wife?”
3 Yesu n’addamu nti, “Musa yagamba atya ku nsonga eyo?”
But in response, he said to them, “What did Moses instruct you?”
4 Ne bamuddamu nti, “Musa yawa omusajja olukusa okuwandiikira mukyala we ebbaluwa emugoba.”
And they said, “Moses gave permission to write a bill of divorce and to dismiss her.”
5 Yesu n’abagamba nti, “Olw’obukakanyavu bw’emitima gyammwe, kyeyava abawandiikira etteeka lino.
But Jesus responded by saying: “It was due to the hardness of your heart that he wrote that precept for you.
6 Naye okuva ku lubereberye yabatonda omusajja n’omukazi.
But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female.
7 Omusajja ky’anaavanga aleka kitaawe ne nnyina, n’agenda n’agattibwa ne mukazi we.
Because of this, a man shall leave behind his father and mother, and he shall cling to his wife.
8 Olwo nga tebakyali babiri, wabula nga bafuuse omubiri gumu.
And these two shall be one in flesh. And so, they are now, not two, but one flesh.
9 Noolwekyo Katonda be yagatta awamu, omuntu tabaawukanyanga.”
Therefore, what God has joined together, let no man separate.”
10 Bwe baali mu nnyumba, abayigirizwa be, ne bongera okumubuuza ku nsonga eyo.
And again, in the house, his disciples questioned him about the same thing.
11 Yesu n’abagamba nti, “Omusajja bw’agobanga mukazi we n’awasa omukazi omulala, aba ayenze.
And he said to them: “Whoever dismisses his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her.
12 N’omukazi bw’ayawukananga ne bba n’afumbirwa omusajja omulala naye aba ayenze.”
And if a wife dismisses her husband, and is married to another, she commits adultery.”
13 Awo Yesu ne bamuleetera abaana abato abakwateko, naye abayigirizwa be ne bajunga abaabaleeta.
And they brought to him the little children, so that he might touch them. But the disciples admonished those who brought them.
14 Kyokka Yesu bwe yabiraba n’anyiigira nnyo abayigirizwa be, n’abagamba nti, “Abaana mubaleke bajje gye ndi, temubagaana kubanga abali nga bano, be bannannyini bwakabaka bwa Katonda.
But when Jesus saw this, he took offense, and he said to them: “Allow the little ones to come to me, and do not prohibit them. For of such as these is the kingdom of God.
15 Ddala ddala mbagamba nti omuntu yenna atakkiriza bwakabaka bwa Katonda ng’omwana omuto, tagenda kubuyingira n’akatono.”
Amen I say to you, whoever will not accept the kingdom of God like a little child, will not enter into it.”
16 Awo n’asitula abaana n’abassaako emikono gye, n’abawa omukisa.
And embracing them, and laying his hands upon them, he blessed them.
17 Awo Yesu bwe yali ng’atambula, omusajja n’ajja gy’ali ng’adduka, n’amufukaamirira n’amubuuza nti, “Omuyigiriza omulungi, nsaanidde kukola ki okufuna obulamu obutaggwaawo?” (aiōnios g166)
And when he had departed on the way, a certain one, running up and kneeling before him, asked him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do, so that I may secure eternal life?” (aiōnios g166)
18 Yesu n’amuddamu nti, “Ompitira ki omulungi? Tewali mulungi n’omu wabula Katonda yekka.
But Jesus said to him, “Why call me good? No one is good except the one God.
19 Amateeka gano ogamanyi. ‘Tottanga, toyendanga, tobbanga, towaayirizanga, kitaawo ne nnyoko obassangamu ekitiibwa.’”
You know the precepts: “Do not commit adultery. Do not kill. Do not steal. Do not speak false testimony. Do not deceive. Honor your father and mother.”
20 N’amuddamu nti, “Omuyigiriza, ebyo byonna simenyangako na kimu okuva mu buvubuka bwange.”
But in response, he said to him, “Teacher, all these I have observed from my youth.”
21 Yesu n’amutunuulira enkaliriza, n’amwagala. N’amugamba nti, “Waliwo ekintu kimu kyokka ekikubulako, era kye kino: genda otunde ebintu byonna by’olina, ensimbi z’onoggyamu ozigabire abaavu, oliba n’obugagga mu ggulu, olyoke ojje ongoberere.”
Then Jesus, gazing at him, loved him, and he said to him: “One thing is lacking to you. Go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and then you will have treasure in heaven. And come, follow me.”
22 Bwe yawulira ebigambo ebyo n’anyiikaala, n’agenda ng’anakuwadde, kubanga yali mugagga nnyo.
But he went away grieving, having been greatly saddened by the word. For he had many possessions.
23 Yesu n’amutunuulira ng’agenda, n’alyoka akyukira abayigirizwa be, n’abagamba nti, “Nga kizibu nnyo abagagga okuyingira mu bwakabaka bwa Katonda!”
And Jesus, looking around, said to his disciples, “How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into the kingdom of God!”
24 Kino ne kibeewuunyisa nnyo. Yesu n’ayongera n’abagamba nti, “Abaana abaagalwa, nga kizibu abo abeesiga obugagga okuyingira mu bwakabaka bwa Katonda!
And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus, answering again, said to them: “Little sons, how difficult it is for those who trust in money to enter into the kingdom of God!
25 Kyangu eŋŋamira okuyita mu nnyindo y’empiso okusinga omugagga okuyingira mu bwakabaka bwa Katonda.”
It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for the rich to enter into the kingdom of God.”
26 Ne beewuunya nnyo nga bwe beebuuzaganya nti, “Olwo kale ani ayinza okulokolebwa!”
And they wondered even more, saying among themselves, “Who, then, can be saved?”
27 Yesu n’abatunuulira enkaliriza n’abaddamu nti, “Eri abantu tekiyinzika. Naye eri Katonda, buli kintu kyonna kisoboka.”
And Jesus, gazing at them, said: “With men it is impossible; but not with God. For with God all things are possible.”
28 Awo Peetero n’agamba Yesu nti, “Tweresa byonna ne tukugoberera.”
And Peter began to say to him, “Behold, we have left all things and have followed you.”
29 Yesu n’amuddamu nti, “Njagala okubakakasiza ddala nti, Tewali muntu n’omu eyali yeeresezza ekintu kyonna, ng’amaka, abooluganda, bannyina, nnyina, kitaawe, abaana be, oba ettaka n’amayumba olw’okunjagala n’okubuulira Enjiri,
In response, Jesus said: “Amen I say to you, There is no one who has left behind house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or land, for my sake and for the Gospel,
30 ataliddizibwawo emirundi kikumi mu mulembe guno amaka, abooluganda, bannyina, nnyina, abaana, ettaka awamu n’okuyigganyizibwa! Ebyo byonna biriba bibye ku nsi kuno, ate ne mu nsi egenda okujja afunemu obulamu obutaliggwaawo. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
who will not receive one hundred times as much, now in this time: houses, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and land, with persecutions, and in the future age eternal life. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
31 Naye bangi aboolubereberye baliba abooluvannyuma, n’ab’oluvannyuma baliba aboolubereberye.”
But many of the first shall be last, and the last shall be first.”
32 Awo bwe baali nga bali mu kkubo, nga bagenda e Yerusaalemi, Yesu ng’akulembeddemu, abayigirizwa be ne bamuvaako emabega nga bamugoberera naye nga bajjudde okutya n’okweraliikirira. Yesu n’abazza wa bbali, n’abannyonnyola byonna ebyali bijja okumutuukako nga batuuse mu Yerusaalemi.
Now they were on the way ascending to Jerusalem. And Jesus went ahead of them, and they were astonished. And those following him were afraid. And again, taking aside the twelve, he began to tell them what was about to happen to him.
33 N’ababuulira nti, “Bwe tunaatuuka eyo, Omwana w’Omuntu aliweebwayo, atwalibwe mu maaso ga bakabona abakulu n’abannyonnyozi b’amateeka. Bajja kumusalira omusango ogw’okufa era balimuwaayo eri Abamawanga bamusalire ekibonerezo eky’okufa.
“For behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man will be handed over to the leaders of the priests, and to the scribes, and the elders. And they will condemn him to death, and they will hand him over to the Gentiles.
34 Bajja kumuduulira bamuwandire n’amalusu bamukube embooko era bamutte, naye nga wayiseewo ennaku ssatu alizuukira.”
And they will mock him, and spit on him, and scourge him, and put him to death. And on the third day, he will rise again.”
35 Awo Yakobo ne Yokaana, batabani ba Zebbedaayo ne bajja eri Yesu ne boogera naye mpola mu kyama nti. “Omuyigiriza, waliwo ekintu kye tukusaba otukolere.”
And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, drew near to him, saying, “Teacher, we wish that whatever we will ask, you would do for us.”
36 N’ababuuza nti, “Kiki ekyo?”
But he said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?”
37 Ne bamuddamu nti, “Tusaba mu bwakabaka bwo tutuule ku ntebe eziriraanye eyiyo, omu atuule ku mukono gwo ogwa ddyo n’omulala ku gwa kkono?”
And they said, “Grant to us that we may sit, one at your right and the other at your left, in your glory.”
38 Naye Yesu n’abaddamu nti, “Kye musaba temukitegeera! Musobola okunywa ku kikompe eky’okubonaabona kye ŋŋenda okunywako? Oba okubatizibwa mu kubonaabona nga bwe ŋŋenda okubatizibwa?”
But Jesus said to them: “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink from the chalice from which I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am to be baptized?”
39 Ne bamuddamu nti, “Tusobola.” Yesu n’abagamba nti, “Okunywa ku kikompe kyange mugenda kukinywako era mulibatizibwa ne mu kubatizibwa kwange.
But they said to him, “We can.” Then Jesus said to them: “Indeed, you shall drink from the chalice, from which I drink; and you shall be baptized with the baptism, with which I am to be baptized.
40 Naye sirina buyinza kubatuuza ku ntebe eziriraanye eyange. Enteekateeka eyo yamala dda okukolebwa.”
But to sit at my right, or at my left, is not mine to give to you, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared.”
41 Abayigirizwa bali ekkumi bwe baategeera Yakobo ne Yokaana kye baasaba, ne babanyiigira nnyo.
And the ten, upon hearing this, began to be indignant toward James and John.
42 Yesu n’abayita n’abagamba nti, “Mumanyi ng’abakulembeze b’abamawanga, n’abakulu baabwe bakuluusanya abantu,
But Jesus, calling them, said to them: “You know that those who seem to be leaders among the Gentiles dominate them, and their leaders exercise authority over them.
43 naye mu mmwe si bwe kiri bwe kityo. Yenna ayagala okuba omukulembeze mu mmwe, asaanira abeerenga muweereza wa banne.
But it is not to be this way among you. Instead, whoever would become greater shall be your minister;
44 Ne buli ayagala okuba omwami mu mmwe, asaana abeere muddu wa banne bonna.
and whoever will be first among you shall be the servant of all.
45 N’Omwana w’Omuntu, teyajja ku nsi kuweerezebwa, wabula okuweereza abalala, era n’okuwaayo obulamu bwe ng’omutango okununula abangi.”
So, too, the Son of man has not come so that they would minister to him, but so that he would minister and would give his life as a redemption for many.”
46 Awo Yesu n’abayigirizwa be ne batuuka mu Yeriko. Oluvannyuma bwe baali bava mu kibuga ekibiina kinene ne kibagoberera. Waaliwo omusajja omuzibe w’amaaso, erinnya lye Battimaayo (mutabani wa Timaayo) eyasabirizanga, eyali atudde ku mabbali g’oluguudo.
And they went to Jericho. And as he was setting out from Jericho with his disciples and a very numerous multitude, Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, a blind man, sat begging beside the way.
47 Awo Battimaayo bwe yategeera nga Yesu Omunnazaaleesi ajja okuyita we yali, n’atandika okuleekaana nti, “Yesu, Omwana wa Dawudi, onsaasire!”
And when he had heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and to say, “Jesus, Son of David, take pity on me.”
48 Abamu ku bantu abaali mu kibiina ne bamuboggolera nti, “Sirika! Totuleekaanira!” Naye ye ne yeeyongera bweyongezi okukoowoola ng’addiŋŋana nti, “Ayi Omwana wa Dawudi, onsaasire!”
And many admonished him to be quiet. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, take pity on me.”
49 Yesu n’ayimirira n’ayogera nti, “Mumuyite.” Ne bayita omuzibe w’amaaso nti, “Guma omwoyo, situka akuyita!”
And Jesus, standing still, instructed him to be called. And they called the blind man, saying to him: “Be at peace. Arise. He is calling you.”
50 Battimaayo n’asuula eri ekikooti kye, n’asituka mangu n’ajja eri Yesu.
And casting aside his garment, he leapt up and went to him.
51 Yesu n’amubuuza nti, “Oyagala nkukolere ki?” Omuzibe w’amaaso n’addamu nti, “Ayi Omuyigiriza, njagala nsobole okulaba!”
And in response, Jesus said to him, “What do you want, that I should do for you?” And the blind man said to him, “Master, that I may see.”
52 Awo Yesu n’amugamba nti, “Ggenda, okukkiriza kwo kukuwonyezza.” Amangwago omusajja n’azibuka amaaso, n’agoberera Yesu.
Then Jesus said to him, “Go, your faith has made you whole.” And immediately he saw, and he followed him on the way.
