< Okukungubaga 3 >

1 Nze muntu eyakangavvulwa n’omuggo ogw’obusungu bwe.
I [am] the man [who] hath seen affliction By the rod of His wrath.
2 Angobye mu maaso ge n’antambuliza mu kizikiza, awatali kitangaala;
Me He hath led, and causeth to go [in] darkness, and without light.
3 ddala, omukono gwe gunnwanyisizza emirundi egiddiriŋŋanwa olunaku lwonna.
Surely against me He turneth back, He turneth His hand all the day.
4 Akaddiyizza omubiri gwange n’eddiba lyange era amenye n’amagumba gange.
He hath worn out my flesh and my skin. He hath broken my bones.
5 Antaayizza n’anzijuza obulumi n’okubonaabona.
He hath built up against me, And setteth round poverty and weariness.
6 Antadde mu kizikiza ng’abafu abaafa edda.
In dark places He hath caused me to dwell, As the dead of old.
7 Ankomedde n’okuyinza ne siyinza kudduka, ansibye enjegere ezizitowa.
He hath hedged me about, and I go not out, He hath made heavy my fetter.
8 Ne bwe mukoowoola ne mukaabira nga mmusaba anyambe, okusaba kwange akuggalira bweru.
Also when I call and cry out, He hath shut out my prayer.
9 Anteeredde amayinja mu kkubo lyange era akyamizza amakubo gange.
He hath hedged my ways with hewn work, My paths He hath made crooked.
10 Ng’eddubu bwe liteega, n’empologoma bwe yeekweka
A bear lying in wait He [is] to me, A lion in secret hiding-places.
11 yansikambula n’anziggya mu kkubo lyange n’antaagulataagula n’andeka awo nga sirina anyamba.
My ways He is turning aside, and He pulleth me in pieces, He hath made me a desolation.
12 Yanaanuula omutego gwe, n’anteekawo okuba ssabbaawa ey’obusaale bwe.
He hath trodden His bow, And setteth me up as a mark for an arrow.
13 Yafumita omutima gwange n’obusaale okuva mu mufuko gwe.
He hath caused to enter into my reins The sons of His quiver.
14 Nafuuka ekisekererwa eri abantu bonna, era bannyooma nga bannyimbirira okuzibya obudde.
I have been a derision to all my people, Their song all the day.
15 Anzijuzza ebikaawa era ampadde ekikompe eky’obubalagaze nkinywe.
He hath filled me with bitter things, He hath filled me [with] wormwood.
16 Ampadde oluyinjayinja okululya amannyo gange ne gamenyeka; anninnyiridde mu nfuufu.
And He breaketh with gravel my teeth, He hath covered me with ashes.
17 Emmeeme yange terina mirembe, n’okujjukira sijjukira bugagga bwe bufaanana.
And Thou castest off from peace my soul, I have forgotten prosperity.
18 Era njogera nti, “Ekitiibwa kyange kigenze, n’essuubi lyonna lye nalina mu Mukama limpeddeko.”
And I say, Perished hath my strength and my hope from Jehovah.
19 Nzijukira okubonaabona kwange n’okuwankawanka kwange, n’obulumi n’obubalagaze.
Remember my affliction and my mourning, Wormwood and gall!
20 Mbijjukira bulungi era bwe mbirowoozaako omutima gwange gulumwa.
Remember well, and bow down doth my soul in me.
21 Ebyo byonna mbijjukira, kyenvudde mbeera n’essuubi.
This I turn to my heart — therefore I hope.
22 Olw’okwagala kwa Mukama okutaggwaawo, tetulimalibwawo, kubanga ekisa kye tekiggwaawo.
The kindnesses of Jehovah! For we have not been consumed, For not ended have His mercies.
23 Buli lukya ekisa kyo kiba kiggya; n’obwesigwa bwo bwa lubeerera.
New every morning, abundant [is] thy faithfulness.
24 Njogera mu mutima gwange nti, “Mukama gwe mugabo gwange, kyenaava mbeera n’essuubi mu ye.”
My portion [is] Jehovah, hath my soul said, Therefore I hope for Him.
25 Mukama mulungi eri abo abamulinamu essuubi, eri oyo amunoonya.
Good [is] Jehovah to those waiting for Him, To the soul [that] seeketh Him.
26 Kirungi omuntu okulindirira obulokozi bwa Mukama n’obukkakkamu.
Good! when one doth stay and stand still For the salvation of Jehovah.
27 Kirungi omuntu okwetikka ekikoligo kye mu buvubuka bwe.
Good for a man that he beareth a yoke in his youth.
28 Atuulenga yekka mu kasirise kubanga Mukama y’akimwambiseemu.
He sitteth alone, and is silent, For He hath laid [it] upon him.
29 Leka akweke amaaso ge mu nfuufu, mpozi wanaabaawo essuubi.
He putteth in the dust his mouth, if so be there is hope.
30 Leka aweeyo oluba lwe okukubibwa, era amalibwe n’okuvumibwa.
He giveth to his smiter the cheek, He is filled with reproach.
31 Kubanga Mukama taligobera bantu bweru ebbanga lyonna.
For the Lord doth not cast off to the age.
32 Newaakubadde ng’aleeta obulumi, aliraga ekisa kubanga okwagala kwe kungi nnyo tekuggwaawo.
For though He afflicted, yet He hath pitied, According to the abundance of His kindness.
33 Tagenderera kuleeta bulumi newaakubadde okubonaabona ku baana ba bantu.
For He hath not afflicted with His heart, Nor doth He grieve the sons of men.
34 Mukama akkiriziganya n’okulinnyirira abasibe,
To bruise under one's feet any bound ones of earth,
35 n’okuggyako omuntu obwetwaze bwe mu maaso g’Oyo Ali Waggulu Ennyo,
To turn aside the judgment of a man, Over-against the face of the Most High,
36 oba n’obutaba na bwenkanya eri omuntu?
To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord hath not approved.
37 Ani ayinza okwogera ekintu ne kituukirira, Mukama nga takiragidde?
Who [is] this — he hath said, and it is, [And] the Lord hath not commanded [it]?
38 Mu kamwa k’oyo Ali Waggulu Ennyo, si mmwe muva ebigambo eby’okubeerwa n’eby’okubonereza?
From the mouth of the Most High Go not forth the evils and the good.
39 Lwaki omuntu omulamu yeemulugunya, bw’abonerezebwa olw’ebibi bye?
What — sigh habitually doth a living man, A man for his sin?
40 Twekebere engeri zaffe, era tuzeetegereze, tudde eri Mukama.
We search our ways, and investigate, And turn back unto Jehovah.
41 Tuyimuse emitima gyaffe n’emikono gyaffe eri Katonda mu ggulu, twogere nti,
We lift up our heart on the hands unto God in the heavens.
42 “Twayonoona ne tujeema, tokyerabiranga era tonatusonyiwa.
We — we have transgressed and rebelled, Thou — Thou hast not forgiven.
43 “Ojjudde obusungu n’otugobaganya, n’otutta awatali kutusaasira.
Thou hast covered Thyself with anger, And dost pursue us; Thou hast slain — Thou hast not pitied.
44 Weebisseeko ekire, waleme okubaawo okusaba n’okumu okutuuka gy’oli.
Thou hast covered Thyself with a cloud, So that prayer doth not pass through.
45 Otufudde obusa n’ebisasiro mu mawanga.
Offscouring and refuse Thou dost make us In the midst of the peoples.
46 “Abalabe baffe bonna batwogerako ebigambo ebibi.
Opened against us their mouth have all our enemies.
47 Tubonyeebonye olw’entiisa n’emitego n’okunyagibwa n’okuzikirizibwa.”
Fear and a snare hath been for us, Desolation and destruction.
48 Amaaso gange gakulukuta emigga gy’amaziga olw’okuzikirira kw’abantu bange.
Rivulets of water go down my eye, For the destruction of the daughter of my people.
49 Era amaaso gange ganeeyongeranga okukulukuta amaziga awatali kusirika,
Mine eye is poured out, And doth not cease without intermission,
50 okutuusa Mukama lw’alisinzira mu ggulu n’alaba.
Till Jehovah looketh and seeth from the heavens,
51 Bye ndaba bireeta ennaku ku mutima gwange, olw’ebyo ebyatuuka ku bawala b’ekibuga kyange.
My eye affecteth my soul, Because of all the daughters of my city.
52 Abalabe bange banjigganya olutata ne baba ng’abayigga ennyonyi.
Hunted me sore as a bird have my enemies without cause.
53 Bagezaako okuzikiririza obulamu bwange mu bunnya, ne bankasuukirira amayinja;
They have cut off in a pit my life, And they cast a stone against me.
54 amazzi gaabikka omutwe gwange, ne ndowooza nti, nsanyeewo.
Flowed have waters over my head, I have said, I have been cut off.
55 “Nakoowoola erinnya lyo, Ayi Mukama, nga ndi mu bunnya wansi ennyo;
I called Thy name, O Jehovah, from the lower pit.
56 wawulira okwegayirira kwange: toziba matu go eri okukaaba kwange.”
My voice Thou hast heard, Hide not Thine ear at my breathing — at my cry.
57 Bwe nakukoowoola wansemberera n’oyogera nti, “Totya!”
Thou hast drawn near in the day I call Thee, Thou hast said, Fear not.
58 Mukama watunula mu nsonga yange, era n’onunula obulamu bwange.
Thou hast pleaded, O Lord, the pleadings of my soul, Thou hast redeemed my life.
59 Ayi Mukama, walaba ebibi bye bankola, obasalire omusango nga bwe kibagwanira.
Thou hast seen, O Jehovah, my overthrow, Judge Thou my cause.
60 Walaba bwe bampalana, n’enkwe zaabwe zonna ze bansalira.
Thou hast seen all their vengeance, All their thoughts of me.
61 Wawulira bye banvuma, Ayi Mukama Katonda, n’enkwe zaabwe zonna ze bansalira,
Thou hast heard their reproach, O Jehovah, All their thoughts against me,
62 obwama n’ebirowoozo eby’abalabe bange bye bantesaako obudde okuziba.
The lips of my withstanders, Even their meditation against me all the day.
63 Batunuulire mu kutuula kwabwe ne mu kuyimirira kwabwe; bannyooma nga bwe bannyimbirira.
Their sitting down, and their rising up, Behold attentively, I [am] their song.
64 Obasasule nga bwe kibagwanira Ayi Mukama Katonda, olw’ebikolwa eby’emikono gyabwe.
Thou returnest to them the deed, O Jehovah, According to the work of their hands.
65 Osseeko ekibikka ku mitima gyabwe, n’ekikolimo kyo kibabeereko.
Thou givest to them a covered heart, Thy curse to them.
66 Obayigganye mu busungu bwo obazikirize ng’osinziira mu ggulu lya Mukama Katonda.
Thou pursuest in anger, and destroyest them, From under the heavens of Jehovah!
