And the leaders of the families of Levi approached Eleazar, the priest, and Joshua, the son of Nun, and the rulers of the extended families of each of the tribes of the sons of Israel.

And they spoke to them at Shiloh, in the land of Canaan, and they said, “The Lord instructed, by the hand of Moses, that cities should be given to us as habitations, with their suburbs to nourish our cattle.”

And so the sons of Israel gave cities and their suburbs from their possessions, in accord with the order of the Lord.

And the lot went out for the family of Kohath, of the sons of Aaron, the priest, from the tribes of Judah and Simeon and Benjamin: thirteen cities.
5 Abakokasi abaali basigaddewo ne bafuna ebibuga kkumi okuva mu nnyumba, z’ebika bya Efulayimu, ne Ddaani n’ekitundu ky’ekika kya Manase.
And to the remainder of the sons of Kohath, that is, to the Levites who were left over, there went, from the tribes of Ephraim and Dan, and from the one half tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.
6 N’abaana ba Gerusoni ne baweebwa ebibuga kkumi na bisatu okuva mu nnyumba zino: eya Isakaali, n’eya Aseri, n’eya Nafutaali, n’ekitundu ky’ekika kya Manase mu Basani.
And next the lot went out to the sons of Gershon, so that they would receive, from the tribes of Issachar and Asher and Naphtali, and from the one half tribe of Manasseh at Bashan: the number of thirteen cities.

And to the sons of Merari, by their families, from the tribes of Reuben and Gad and Zebulun, there went twelve cities.
8 Abaana ba Isirayiri ne bawa Abaleevi ebibuga bino, n’amalundiro gaabwe nga Mukama bwe yali alagidde okuyita mu Musa.
And so the sons of Israel gave cities and their suburbs to the Levites, just as the Lord instructed by the hand of Moses, distributing to each by lot.
9 Mu bika bya Yuda ne Simyoni mwavaamu ebibuga bino:
From the tribes of the sons of Judah and Simeon, Joshua gave cities, whose names are these:

17 Ne mu kika kya Benyamini ne baweebwa Gibyoni, ne Geba
Then, from the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, he gave Gibeon, and Geba,
18 ne Anasosi n’amalundiro gaakyo, ne Alumoni n’amalundiro gaakyo ne Alumoni n’amalundiro gaakyo bye bibuga bina.
and Anathoth, and Almon, with their suburbs: four cities.
19 Ebibuga byonna eby’abaana ba Alooni bakabona byali ebibuga kkumi na bisatu n’amalundiro gaabyo.
All the cities together of the sons of Aaron, the priest, were thirteen, with their suburbs.
20 Eri Abakokasi abalala abaali bava mu nnyumba z’Abakokasi ez’Abaleevi ebibuga ebyabaweebwa byava mu kika kya Efulayimu.
Yet truly, the remainder of the families of the sons of Kohath, of the stock of Levi, were given this possession:
21 N’aweebwa Sekemu n’amalundiro gaakyo mu nsi ey’ensozi eya Efulayimu ekibuga eky’okwekwekamu oyo asse, ne Gezeri n’amalundiro gaakyo,
from the tribe of Ephraim, Shechem, one of the cities of refuge, with its suburbs, on mount Ephraim, and Gezer,
22 ne Kizuzaimu n’amalundiro gaakyo ne Besukolooni n’amalundiro gaakyo,
and Kibzaim, and Beth-horon, with their suburbs, four cities;
23 ne mu kika kya Ddaani, Eruteke n’amalundiro gaakyo, Gibbesoni n’amalundiro gaakyo,
and from the tribe of Dan, Elteke and Gibbethon,
24 Ayalooni n’amalundiro gaakyo, ne Gasulimmoni n’amalundiro gaakyo, bye bibuga bina.
and Aijalon and Gath-Rimmon, with their suburbs, four cities;
25 Ne mu kitundu eky’ekika kya Manase, Taanaki, n’amalundiro gaakyo, ne Gasulimmoni n’amalundiro gaakyo, bye bibuga bibiri.
then, from the one half tribe of Manasseh, Taanach and Gath-Rimmon, with their suburbs, two cities.
26 Ebibuga byonna eby’ennyumba z’abaana ba Kokasi abalala byali kkumi n’amalundiro gaabyo.
All the cities were ten, with their suburbs; these were given to the sons of Kohath, of the lesser degree.
27 N’eri abaana ba Gerusoni ekimu ku kika ky’Abaleevi, ekitundu eky’ekika kya Manase, Golani mu Basani n’amalundiro gaakyo, ekibuga eky’okwekwekangamu oyo asse nga tagenderedde, ne Beesutera n’amalundiro gaakyo, ebibuga bibiri.
Likewise, to the sons of Gershon, of the stock of Levi, from the one half tribe of Manasseh, went Golan in Bashan, one of the cities of refuge, and Bosra, with their suburbs, two cities;
28 Ne mu kika kya Isakaali, Kisioni n’amalundiro gaakyo, Daberasi n’amalundiro gaakyo,
also, from the tribe of Issachar, Kishion, and Daberath,
29 Yalamusi n’amalundiro gaakyo, ne Engannimu n’amalundiro gaakyo, bye bibuga bina,
and Jarmuth, and Engannim, with their suburbs, four cities;
30 ne mu kika kya Aseri, Misali n’amalundiro gaakyo, Abudoni n’amalundiro gaakyo,
then, from the tribe of Asher, Mishal and Abdon,
31 Kerukasi n’amalundiro gaakyo, ne Lekobu n’amalundiro gaakyo, bye bibuga bina.
and Helkath and Rehob, with their suburbs, four cities;
32 Ne mu kika kya Nafutaali, Kadesi mu Ggaliraaya n’amalundiro gaakyo, ebibuga ebyokwekwekamu, ne Kammasudoli n’amalundiro gaakyo, ne Kalutani n’amalundiro gaakyo, bye bibuga bisatu.
likewise, from the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee, one of the cities of refuge, and Hammoth-Dor, and Kartan, with their suburbs, three cities.
33 Ebibuga byonna eby’Abagerusoni ng’ennyumba zaabwe bwe zaali, byali ebibuga kkumi na bisatu n’amalundiro gaabyo.
All the cities of the families of Gershon were thirteen, with their suburbs.
34 Abaleevi abaali basigaddewo abaana ba Merali ne baweebwa okuva mu kika kya Zebbulooni, Yokuneamu n’amalundiro gaakyo, ne Kaluta n’amalundiro gaakyo,
Then, to the sons of Merari, Levites of the lesser degree, by their families, were given, from the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam and Kartah,
35 Dimuna n’amalundiro gaakyo, Nakalali n’amalundiro gaakyo, bye bibuga bina.
and Dimnah and Nahalal, four cities with their suburbs;
36 Ne mu kika kya Lewubeeni, Bezeri n’amalundiro gaakyo, ne Yakazi n’amalundiro gaakyo,
from the tribe of Reuben, beyond the Jordan, opposite Jericho, Bezer in the wilderness, one of the cities of refuge, Misor and Jazer, and Jethson and Mephaath, four cities with their suburbs;
37 Kedemosi n’amalundiro gaakyo, ne Mefaasi n’amalundiro gaakyo bye bibuga bina.
from the tribe of Gad, Ramoth of Gilead, one of the cities of refuge, and Mahanaim and Heshbon and Jazer, four cities with their suburbs.
38 Ne mu kika kya Gaadi, Lamosi mu Gireyaali n’amalundiro gaakyo, ekibuga ekyokwekwekamu oyo asse, ne Makanayimu n’amalundiro gaakyo.
39 Kesuboni n’amalundiro gaakyo, Yazeri n’amalundiro gaakyo awamu bye bibuga bina.
40 Ebyo byonna byali by’abaana ba Merali be Baleevi, abaali basigalidde ng’ennyumba zaabwe bwe zaali, bye bibuga kkumi na bibiri byonna awamu.
All the cities of the sons of Merari, by their families and extended families, were twelve.
41 Ebibuga byonna ebyali ku ttaka ery’abaana ba Isirayiri byali amakumi ana mu munaana awamu n’ebyalo byabyo ebibiriraanye.
And so all the cities of the Levites, in the midst of the possession of the sons of Israel, were forty-eight,

with their suburbs, each distributed by families.

And the Lord God gave to Israel all the land that he had sworn he would deliver to their fathers. And they possessed it, and they lived in it.
44 Mukama n’abawa emirembe ne bawummula ku buli luuyi nga bwe yalayirira bajjajjaabwe, tewali mulabe waabwe n’omu gwe bataawangula kubanga Mukama yali agabudde abalabe baabwe mu mukono gwabwe.
And he gave them peace with all the surrounding nations. And none of their enemies dared to stand against them; instead, they were brought under their sovereignty.
45 Buli kintu kyonna ekirungi Mukama kye yasuubiza ennyumba ya Isirayiri yakituukiriza. Byonna byatuukirira.
Indeed, not so much as one word that he had promised to provide for them was left empty; instead, everything was fulfilled.
