1 Omugabo gw’abaana ba Yuda ng’enju zaabwe bwe zaali bwe baakuba akalulu, baaweebwa ekitundu okutuuka ku nsalo ya Edomu, ku lukoola lwa Zini, ku nkomerero y’oluuyi olw’obukiikaddyo.
And the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families was: to the border of Edom, the wilderness of Zin, southward, in the extreme south.
2 N’ensalo yaabwe ey’oluuyi olwo okuva ku Nnyanja ey’Omunnyo w’eva, ku kikono ekitunudde mu bukiikaddyo;
And their southern border was from the end of the salt sea, from the tongue that turns southward;
3 n’esala wansi w’ekkubo eririnnya ku Akkulabimu n’eyita okutuuka ku Zini n’erinnya okuyita wansi wa Kadesubanea, n’eyita kumpi ne Kezulooni, n’erinnya ku Addali, n’ekyamira ku Kaluka;
and it went out south of the ascent of Akrabbim, and passed on to Zin, and went up on the south of Kadesh-barnea, and passed to Hezron, and went up toward Addar, and turned toward Karkaah,
4 n’eyita ku Azumoni n’ekoma ku mugga ogw’e Misiri, n’eryoka esibira ku nnyanja. Eno ye yali ensalo yaabwe ey’obukiikaddyo.
and passed on to Azmon, and went out by the torrent of Egypt; and the border ended at the sea. That shall be your border southward.
5 N’ensalo yaabwe ey’obuvanjuba yali nnyanja ey’obukiikakkono. Kyali kikono kya Yoludaani we guyiyira ku Nnyanja ey’Omunnyo. N’ensalo ey’obukiikakkono kyali kikono kya nnyanja Yoludaani we guyiyiramu.
— And the eastern border was the salt sea as far as the end of the Jordan. — And the border on the north side was from the tongue of the salt sea, at the end of the Jordan;
6 N’eyambuka n’eyita ku Besukogula n’eyita ku luuyi lw’ebuvanjuba bwa Besualaba n’eyambuka okutuuka ku jjinja lya Bokani omwana wa Lewubeeni.
and the border went up toward Beth-hoglah, and passed north of Beth-Arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan, the son of Reuben;
7 Era n’erinnya ku Debiri okuva mu kiwonvu Akoli, n’egenda ku luuyi olw’obukiikakkono, n’edda e Girugaali emitala w’ekkubo eryambuka ku Adummimu, ekiri emitala w’omugga mu bukiikaddyo, n’etuuka ku nsalo ku mazzi ag’e Ensemesi, n’esala n’ekoma ku Enerogeri. Awo n’eryoka eyita ku kiwonvu kya Kinomu ku luuyi lw’ebugwanjuba ekyali ku nkomerero ey’ekiwonvu kya Lefayimu ku luuyi olw’obukiikakkono.
and the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and turned northward to Gilgal, which is opposite to the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the torrent; and the border passed to the waters of En-shemesh, and ended at En-rogel;
8 Awo n’eryoka eva ku kiwonvu ky’omwana wa Kinomu n’etuuka ku njegoyego za Yebusi ku luuyi olw’obukiikaddyo ye Yerusaalemi, ne yeeyongera ku ntikko y’olusozi oluli w’okkira mu kiwonvu kya Kinomu ku luuyi olw’ebugwanjuba, ku nkomerero y’ekiwonvu kya Lefayimu mu bukiikakkono;
and the border went up to the valley of the son of Hinnom, toward the south side of the Jebusite, that is, Jerusalem; and the border went up to the top of the mountain that is before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of Rephaim northward;
9 ne yeeyongera okuva ku ntikko y’olusozi n’etuuka ku luzzi olw’amazzi ga Nefutoa, ne yeeyongerayo n’etuuka ku bibuga eby’oku lusozi Efuloni, n’etuuka ku Baala, ye Kiriyasuyalimu,
and the border reached along from the top of the mountain toward the spring of the waters of Nephtoah, and went out toward the cities of mount Ephron; and the border reached along to Baalah, that is, Kirjath-jearim;
10 n’ewetamu okuva e Baala ku luuyi olw’ebugwanjuba n’etuuka ku lusozi Sayiri n’eyita n’etuuka ku mabbali g’olusozi Yealimu ku luuyi olw’omu bukiikakkono, ye Kyesaloni, n’ekka ku Besusemesi, n’eyita ku Timuna,
and the border turned from Baalah westwards toward mount Seir, and passed toward the side of Har-jearim, that is, Chesalon, northwards, and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed Timnah.
11 n’egenda ku mabbali ag’e Ekuloni mu bukiikakkono, n’ekka ku Sikkeroni n’etuuka ku lusozi Baala, n’ekoma ku Yabuneeri, ne ku nnyanja.
And the border went out to the side of Ekron northwards, and the border reached along toward Shicron, and passed mount Baalah, and went toward Jabneel; and the border ended at the sea.
12 Ensalo ey’ebugwanjuba yali Ennyanja Ennene n’olubalama lwayo. Eyo ye yali ensalo y’abaana ba Yuda ku njuyi zonna ng’enju zaabwe bwe zaali.
— And the west border is the great sea and [its] coast. This is the border of the children of Judah round about, according to their families.
13 Yoswa n’awa Kalebu omwana wa Yefune omugabo mu baana ba Yuda Kiriasualuba, ye Kebbulooni, ng’ekiragiro kya Mukama bwe kyali. Aluba ye yali kitaawe wa Anaki.
And to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the children of Judah according to the commandment of Jehovah to Joshua, the city of Arba, the father of Anak, that is, Hebron.
14 Kalebu n’agobamu abaana abasatu aba Anaki: Sesayi ne Akimaani, ne Talumaayi, abaana ba Anaki.
And thence Caleb dispossessed the three sons of Anak, Sheshai and Ahiman and Talmai, who were born of Anak.
15 N’ava eyo n’alumba abaali mu Debiri, edda eyayitibwanga Kiriasuseferi.
And from there he went up against the inhabitants of Debir; now the name of Debir before was Kirjath-sepher.
16 Kalebu n’agamba nti, “Anaakuba Kiriasuseferi n’akiwamba ndimuwa muwala wange Akusa amuwase.”
And Caleb said, He that smites Kirjath-sepher and takes it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter as wife.
17 Osunieri omwana wa Kenazi, muganda wa Kalebu, n’akikuba, Kalebu n’amuwa Akusa muwala we amuwase.
And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it; and he gave him Achsah his daughter as wife.
18 Awo bwe yajja gy’ali, n’amugamba asabe kitaawe ennimiro. Bwe yava ku ndogoyi ye, Kalebu n’amubuuza nti, “Kiki kyoyagala nkukolere?”
And it came to pass as she came, that she urged him to ask of her father a field; and she sprang down from the ass. And Caleb said to her, What wouldest thou?
19 N’addamu nti, “Nsaba onnyambe nga bwe wampa ettaka mu Negebu, ompe n’ensulo z’amazzi.” Kalebu n’amuwa ensulo ez’engulu n’ez’emmanga.
And she said, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a southern land; give me also springs of water. Then he gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.
20 Guno gwe mugabo gw’ekika ky’abaana ba Yuda ng’enju zaabwe bwe zaali.
This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.
21 Ebibuga ebyali bisemberayo ddala mu bukiikaddyo mu Negebu eri ensalo ya Edomu byali, Kabuzeeri, n’e Ederei n’e Yaguli,
The cities at the extremity of the tribe of the children of Judah, toward the border of Edom in the south, were: Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,
22 n’e Kina n’e Dimona, n’e Adada,
and Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,
23 n’e Kedesi, n’e Kazoli, n’e Isunani,
and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Jithnan,
24 n’e Zifu, n’e Teremu n’e Beyaloosi,
Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,
25 n’e Kazolukadatta, n’e Keriosukezulooni, ye Kazoli,
and Hazor-hadattah, and Kerioth-Hezron, that is Hazor,
26 n’e Amamu n’e Sema, n’e Molada,
Amam, and Shema, and Molada,
27 n’e Kazalugadda n’e Kesuboni, n’e Besupereti
and Hazar-gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-Pelet,
28 n’e Kazalusuwali, n’e Beeruseba n’e Biziosia
and Hazar-Shual, and Beer-sheba, and Biziothiah;
29 n’e Baala n’e Yimu, n’e Ezemu,
Baalah, and Ijim, and Ezem,
30 n’e Erutoladi n’e Kyesiri n’e Koluma,
and Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,
31 n’e Zikulagi, n’e Madumanna, n’e Samusanna,
and Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansanna,
32 n’e Lebaosi, n’e Sirukimu, n’e Ayini, n’e Limmoni. Ebibuga byonna awamu amakumi abiri mu mwenda, n’ebyalo byabyo.
and Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities twenty-nine, and their hamlets.
33 Era ne mu nsi ey’ensenyi Esutaoli, n’e Zola, n’e Asuna,
— In the lowland: Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,
34 n’e Zanowa n’e Engannimu, n’e Tappua, n’e Enamu,
and Zanoah, and En-gannim, Tappuah and Enam,
35 n’e Yalamusi n’e Adulamu, n’e Soko, n’e Azeka
Jarmuth and Adullam, Sochoh and Azekah,
36 n’e Saalayimu, n’e Adisaimu, n’e Gedera, n’e Gederosaimu, ebibuga kkumi na bina n’ebyalo byabyo.
and Shaaraim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim: fourteen cities and their hamlets.
37 Zenani, n’e Kadasa, n’e Migudalugadi,
Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdal-Gad,
38 n’e Dirani, n’e Mizupe, n’e Yokuseeri,
and Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,
39 n’e Lakisi, n’e Bozukasi, n’e Eguloni,
Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,
40 n’e Kabboni, n’e Lamamu, n’e Kitulisi,
and Cabbon, and Lahmas, and Chithlish,
41 n’e Gederosi, Besudagoni, n’e Naama, n’e Makkeda, ebibuga kkumi na mukaaga n’ebyalo byabyo.
and Gederoth, Beth-Dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah: sixteen cities and their hamlets.
42 Libuna n’e Eseri, n’e Asani,
Libna, and Ether, and Ashan,
43 n’e Ifuta n’e Asuna, n’e Nezibu,
and Jiphthah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,
44 n’e Keira, n’e Akuzibu, n’e Malesa, ebibuga mwenda n’ebyalo byabyo.
and Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah: nine cities and their hamlets.
45 Ekuloni n’ebibuga byamu n’ebyalo byakyo,
Ekron and its dependent villages and its hamlets.
46 okuva ku Ekuloni okutuuka ku nnyanja, ebibuga byonna ebiriraanye Asudodi n’ebyalo byabyo;
From Ekron and westward all that are by the side of Ashdod, and their hamlets.
47 Asudodi, ebibuga byakyo n’ebyalo byakyo; Gaza, ebibuga byakyo n’ebyalo byakyo okutuuka ku mugga ogw’e Misiri, n’ennyanja ennene, n’ensalo yaayo.
Ashdod, its dependent villages and its hamlets; Gazah, its dependent villages and its hamlets, as far as the torrent of Egypt, and the great sea and [its] coast.
48 Ne mu nsi ey’ensozi, Samiri, n’e Yattiri, n’e Soko,
— And in the hill-country: Shamir, and Jattir, and Sochoh,
49 ne Danna, ne Kiriasusanna, ye Debiri,
and Dannah, and Kirjath-sannah, that is, Debir,
50 ne Anabu, n’e Esutemoa, n’e Animu,
and Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,
51 n’e Goseni, n’e Koloni, n’e Giro, ebibuga kkumi na kimu n’ebyalo byabyo.
and Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh: eleven cities and their hamlets.
52 Alabu, n’e Duma, n’e Esani,
Arab, and Dumah, and Eshan,
53 n’e Yanimu, n’e Besutappua, n’e Afeka,
and Janum, and Beth-Tappuah, and Aphekah,
54 n’e Kumuta n’e Kiriasualuba, ye Kebbulooni, n’e Zioli ebibuga mwenda n’ebyalo byabyo.
and Humtah, and Kirjath-Arba, that is, Hebron, and Zior: nine cities and their hamlets.
55 Mawoni, n’e Kalumeeri, n’e Zifu, n’e Yuta,
Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Jutah,
56 n’e Yezuleeri, n’e Yokudeamu, n’e Zanoa,
and Jizreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,
57 Kaini, n’e Gibea, n’e Timuna, ebibuga kkumi n’ebyalo byabyo.
Kain, Gibeah and Timnah: ten cities and their hamlets.
58 Kalukuli, Besuzuli, n’e Gedoli;
Halhul, Beth-Zur, and Gedor,
59 n’e Maalasi, n’e Besuanosi, n’e Erutekoni, ebibuga mukaaga n’ebyalo byabyo.
and Maarath, and Beth-anoth, and Eltekon: six cities and their hamlets.
60 Kiriasubaali, ye Kiriyasuyalimu, n’e Laaba ebibuga bibiri n’ebyalo byabyo.
Kirjath-Baal, that is, Kirjath-jearim, and Rabbah: two cities and their hamlets.
61 Mu ddungu: Besualaba, n’e Middini, n’e Sekaka,
— In the wilderness: Beth-Arabah, Middin, and Secacah,
62 n’e Nibusani, n’ekibuga eky’omunnyo, n’e Engedi, ebibuga mukaaga n’ebyalo byabyo.
and Nibshan, and Ir-Hammelah, and En-gedi: six cities and their hamlets.
63 Abayebusi, be baali mu Yerusaalemi abaana ba Yuda ne batayinza kubagobamu; Abayebusi ne babeera wamu n’abaana ba Yuda mu Yerusaalemi n’okutuusa kaakano.
But as for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not dispossess them; and the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.
