< Yoswa 15 >

1 Omugabo gw’abaana ba Yuda ng’enju zaabwe bwe zaali bwe baakuba akalulu, baaweebwa ekitundu okutuuka ku nsalo ya Edomu, ku lukoola lwa Zini, ku nkomerero y’oluuyi olw’obukiikaddyo.
Now the part of the land marked out for the children of Judah by families, went up to the edge of Edom, as far as the waste land of Zin to the south, to the farthest point of it on the south.
2 N’ensalo yaabwe ey’oluuyi olwo okuva ku Nnyanja ey’Omunnyo w’eva, ku kikono ekitunudde mu bukiikaddyo;
Their south limit was from the farthest part of the Salt Sea, from the inlet looking to the south:
3 n’esala wansi w’ekkubo eririnnya ku Akkulabimu n’eyita okutuuka ku Zini n’erinnya okuyita wansi wa Kadesubanea, n’eyita kumpi ne Kezulooni, n’erinnya ku Addali, n’ekyamira ku Kaluka;
From there it goes south of the slope up to Akrabbim, and on to Zin, then south past Kadesh-barnea, and on by Hezron and up to Addar, turning in the direction of Karka:
4 n’eyita ku Azumoni n’ekoma ku mugga ogw’e Misiri, n’eryoka esibira ku nnyanja. Eno ye yali ensalo yaabwe ey’obukiikaddyo.
Then on to Azmon, ending at the stream of Egypt: and the end of the limit is at the sea; this will be your limit on the south.
5 N’ensalo yaabwe ey’obuvanjuba yali nnyanja ey’obukiikakkono. Kyali kikono kya Yoludaani we guyiyira ku Nnyanja ey’Omunnyo. N’ensalo ey’obukiikakkono kyali kikono kya nnyanja Yoludaani we guyiyiramu.
And the east limit is the Salt Sea as far as the end of Jordan. And the limit of the north part of the land is from the inlet of the sea at the end of Jordan:
6 N’eyambuka n’eyita ku Besukogula n’eyita ku luuyi lw’ebuvanjuba bwa Besualaba n’eyambuka okutuuka ku jjinja lya Bokani omwana wa Lewubeeni.
Then the line goes up to Beth-hoglah, past the north of Beth-arabah, and up to the stone of Bohan, the son of Reuben;
7 Era n’erinnya ku Debiri okuva mu kiwonvu Akoli, n’egenda ku luuyi olw’obukiikakkono, n’edda e Girugaali emitala w’ekkubo eryambuka ku Adummimu, ekiri emitala w’omugga mu bukiikaddyo, n’etuuka ku nsalo ku mazzi ag’e Ensemesi, n’esala n’ekoma ku Enerogeri. Awo n’eryoka eyita ku kiwonvu kya Kinomu ku luuyi lw’ebugwanjuba ekyali ku nkomerero ey’ekiwonvu kya Lefayimu ku luuyi olw’obukiikakkono.
Then the line goes up to Debir from the valley of Achor, and so to the north, in the direction of Gilgal, which is opposite the slope up to Adummim, on the south side of the river: and the line goes on to the waters of En-shemesh, ending at En-rogel:
8 Awo n’eryoka eva ku kiwonvu ky’omwana wa Kinomu n’etuuka ku njegoyego za Yebusi ku luuyi olw’obukiikaddyo ye Yerusaalemi, ne yeeyongera ku ntikko y’olusozi oluli w’okkira mu kiwonvu kya Kinomu ku luuyi olw’ebugwanjuba, ku nkomerero y’ekiwonvu kya Lefayimu mu bukiikakkono;
Then the line goes up by the valley of the son of Hinnom to the south side of the Jebusite (which is Jerusalem): then up to the top of the mountain in front of the valley of Hinnom to the west, which is at the farthest point of the valley of Rephaim on the north:
9 ne yeeyongera okuva ku ntikko y’olusozi n’etuuka ku luzzi olw’amazzi ga Nefutoa, ne yeeyongerayo n’etuuka ku bibuga eby’oku lusozi Efuloni, n’etuuka ku Baala, ye Kiriyasuyalimu,
And the limit is marked out from the top of the mountain to the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah, and out to the towns of Mount Ephron, as far as Baalah (which is Kiriath-jearim):
10 n’ewetamu okuva e Baala ku luuyi olw’ebugwanjuba n’etuuka ku lusozi Sayiri n’eyita n’etuuka ku mabbali g’olusozi Yealimu ku luuyi olw’omu bukiikakkono, ye Kyesaloni, n’ekka ku Besusemesi, n’eyita ku Timuna,
Then turning west, the line goes from Baalah to Mount Seir, and on to the side of Mount Jearim (which is Chesalon) on the north, then down to Beth-shemesh, and on past Timnah:
11 n’egenda ku mabbali ag’e Ekuloni mu bukiikakkono, n’ekka ku Sikkeroni n’etuuka ku lusozi Baala, n’ekoma ku Yabuneeri, ne ku nnyanja.
And out to the side of Ekron to the north: then it is marked out to Shikkeron and on to Mount Baalah, ending at Jabneel; the end of the line is at the sea.
12 Ensalo ey’ebugwanjuba yali Ennyanja Ennene n’olubalama lwayo. Eyo ye yali ensalo y’abaana ba Yuda ku njuyi zonna ng’enju zaabwe bwe zaali.
And the limit on the west is the edge of the Great Sea. This is the line going round the land marked out for the children of Judah, by their families.
13 Yoswa n’awa Kalebu omwana wa Yefune omugabo mu baana ba Yuda Kiriasualuba, ye Kebbulooni, ng’ekiragiro kya Mukama bwe kyali. Aluba ye yali kitaawe wa Anaki.
And to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, he gave a part among the children of Judah, as the Lord had given orders to Joshua, that is, Kiriath-arba, named after Arba, the father of Anak which is Hebron.
14 Kalebu n’agobamu abaana abasatu aba Anaki: Sesayi ne Akimaani, ne Talumaayi, abaana ba Anaki.
And the three sons of Anak, Sheshai and Ahiman and Talmai, the children of Anak, were forced out from there by Caleb.
15 N’ava eyo n’alumba abaali mu Debiri, edda eyayitibwanga Kiriasuseferi.
From there he went up against the people of Debir: (now the name of Debir before that was Kiriath-sepher.)
16 Kalebu n’agamba nti, “Anaakuba Kiriasuseferi n’akiwamba ndimuwa muwala wange Akusa amuwase.”
And Caleb said, I will give Achsah, my daughter, as wife to the man who overcomes Kiriath-sepher and takes it.
17 Osunieri omwana wa Kenazi, muganda wa Kalebu, n’akikuba, Kalebu n’amuwa Akusa muwala we amuwase.
And Othniel, the son of Kenaz, Caleb's brother, took it: so he gave him his daughter Achsah for his wife.
18 Awo bwe yajja gy’ali, n’amugamba asabe kitaawe ennimiro. Bwe yava ku ndogoyi ye, Kalebu n’amubuuza nti, “Kiki kyoyagala nkukolere?”
Now when she came to him, he put into her mind the idea of requesting a field from her father: and she got down from her ass; and Caleb said to her, What is it?
19 N’addamu nti, “Nsaba onnyambe nga bwe wampa ettaka mu Negebu, ompe n’ensulo z’amazzi.” Kalebu n’amuwa ensulo ez’engulu n’ez’emmanga.
And she said, Give me a blessing; because you have put me in dry south-land, now give me springs of water. So he gave her the higher spring and the lower spring.
