< Yokaana 20 >

1 Mu makya g’olunaku olusooka mu wiiki, Maliyamu Magudaleene n’ajja ku ntaana, ng’obudde tebunnalaba bulungi, n’alaba ejjinja nga liggiddwa ku ntaana.
On the first of the Sabbaths Mary Magdalene comes to the sepulcher early in the morning, it being yet dark, and sees the stone having been rolled from the sepulcher.
2 N’adduka n’agenda eri Simooni Peetero n’eri omuyigirizwa omulala Yesu gwe yayagalanga ennyo n’abagamba nti, “Mukama waffe bamuggyeemu mu ntaana, era simanyi gye bamutadde!”
Then she runs, and comes to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and says to them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulcher, and we know not where they have placed Him.
3 Awo Peetero n’omuyigirizwa oli omulala ne bafuluma ne balaga ku ntaana.
Then Peter and the other disciple came out, and they were coming to the sepulcher.
4 Bombi ne bagenda nga badduka, omuyigirizwa oli omulala n’ayisa Peetero n’amusooka ku ntaana.
And the two were running simultaneously: and the other disciple was running before more rapidly than Peter, and came first to the sepulcher.
5 N’akutama n’alaba engoye za linena nga ziteekeddwa awo, kyokka n’atayingira mu ntaana.
John looking in sees the grave-clothes lying; and did not come in.
6 Awo ne Simooni Peetero n’atuuka, n’ayingira mu ntaana, n’alaba engoye za linena nga ziteekeddwa awo.
Then Simon Peter, following him, he came into the sepulcher; and sees the grave-clothes lying,
7 N’alaba n’ekitambaala ekyali ku mutwe gwa Yesu. Kyali tekiteekeddwa wamu na ngoye, wabula kyali kizingiddwa era nga kiteekebbwa ku bbali.
and the napkin, which was on His head, not lying with the grave-clothes, but separate in one place, having been rolled up.
8 N’omuyigirizwa oli omulala, eyasooka okutuuka ku ntaana n’ayingira. N’alaba era n’akkiriza.
Then the other disciple also came in, the one having come first to the sepulcher, and saw, and believed;
9 Kubanga okutuusiza ddala mu kiseera ekyo baali tebannategeera ekyawandiikibwa nti: Kimugwanira okuzuukira mu bafu.
for they did not yet understand the Scripture, That it behooved Him to rise from the dead.
10 Awo abayigirizwa ne baddayo ewaabwe eka.
Then the disciples departed again to their own comrades.
11 Maliyamu Magudaleene yali ayimiridde wabweru w’entaana ng’akaaba. N’akutama. N’alingiza mu ntaana nga bw’akaaba,
And Mary was standing at the sepulcher without, weeping: then while she was weeping, she looked into the sepulcher;
12 n’alaba bamalayika babiri, nga bali mu ngoye enjeru nga batudde; omu emitwetwe n’omulala emirannamiro w’ekifo omulambo gwa Yesu we gwali guteekeddwa.
and sees two angels sitting in white robes, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus lay.
13 Bamalayika ne bamubuuza nti, “Omukyala, okaabira ki?” N’abaddamu nti, “Kubanga baggyeemu Mukama wange, era simanyi gye bamutadde!”
They say to her, Woman, why do you weep? She says to them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have placed Him.
14 Bwe yamala okwogera ebyo, n’akyuka n’alaba Yesu ng’ayimiridde, kyokka n’atamanya nti ye Yesu.
Saying these words, she turned backward, and sees Jesus standing, and did not know that He is Jesus.
15 Yesu n’amubuuza nti, “Omukyala okaabira ki? Onoonya ani?” Maliyamu n’alowooza nti, Ye nannyini nnimiro n’amugamba nti, “Ssebo, obanga gw’omuggyeemu, mbuulira gy’omutadde ŋŋende mmuggyeyo.”
Jesus says to her, Woman, why are you weeping? whom are you seeking? She, thinking that He is the gardener, says to Him, Sir, if you have taken Him away, tell me where you have placed Him, and I will take Him.
16 Yesu n’amugamba nti, “Maliyamu!” Maliyamu n’akyukira Yesu n’amugamba mu Lwebbulaniya nti, “Labooni,” ekitegeeza nti, “Omuyigiriza.”
Jesus says to her, Mary: she turning, says to Him in Hebrew, Rabboni, which is called Teacher.
17 Yesu n’amugamba nti, “Tonkwatako kubanga sinnagenda eri Kitange. Naye genda eri baganda bange obagambe nti, ŋŋenda eri Kitange era Kitammwe, Katonda wange era Katonda wammwe.”
Jesus says to her, Cling not to me; for I have not ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and tell them, I ascend to my Father and your Father, and my God and your God.
18 Maliyamu Magudaleene n’agenda n’abuulira abayigirizwa nga bw’alabye Mukama waffe, era n’abategeeza by’amugambye.
Mary Magdalene comes proclaiming to the disciples, I have seen the Lord; and He spoke these things to her.
19 Akawungeezi ako abayigirizwa baali bakuŋŋaanidde mu kisenge ng’enzigi nsibe olw’okutya Abayudaaya, Yesu n’ajja n’ayimirira wakati mu bo. N’abagamba nti, “Emirembe gibe mu mmwe.”
Then it being evening, on that day, on the first day of the week, and the doors being shut where the disciples were assembled, on account of the fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst, and says to them, Peace be unto you.
20 Bwe yamala okwogera ebyo n’abalaga ebibatu bye n’embiriizi ze. Abayigirizwa bwe baalaba Mukama ne basanyuka nnyo.
And saying this, He shewed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples rejoiced, seeing the Lord.
21 N’addamu nti, “Emirembe gibe mu mmwe. Nga Kitange bwe yantuma, nange bwe mbatuma mmwe.”
And Jesus said to them again, Peace be unto you: as the Father hath sent me, I also send you.
22 Bwe yamala okwogera ebyo n’abassiza omukka, n’abagamba nti, “Mufune Mwoyo Mutukuvu.
And saying this, He breathed on them, and says to them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost.
23 Buli muntu gwe munaasonyiwanga ebibi bye anaabanga asonyiyiddwa. Abo be munaagaananga okusonyiwa, banaabanga tebasonyiyiddwa.”
Whose sins you may remit, are remitted unto them; whose sins you may retain, have been retained.
24 Naye Tomasi, omu ku bayigirizwa ekkumi n’ababiri, ayitibwa Didumo, teyali na banne Yesu bwe yajja.
And Thomas, one of the twelve, the one called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
25 Bayigirizwa banne ne bamugamba nti, “Tulabye Mukama waffe.” Ye n’abagamba nti, “Okuggyako nga ndabye enkovu ez’emisumaali mu bibatu bye, ne nteeka olunwe lwange mu nkovu ezo era ne nteeka ekibatu kyange mu mbiriizi ze, sigenda kukkiriza.”
Then the other disciples said to him, We have seen the Lord. And he said to them, Unless I may see the print of the nails in His hand, and thrust my finger into the place of the nails, and thrust my hand into His side, I will not believe.
26 Bwe waayitawo ennaku munaana, abayigirizwa ba Yesu, era bali mu nnyumba, Tomasi yali nabo. Yesu n’ajja, enzigi nga nsibe, n’ayimirira wakati mu bo n’abagamba nti, “Emirembe gibe mu mmwe,”
And after eight days His disciples were again within, and Thomas was with them. Jesus comes, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
27 Awo n’agamba Tomasi nti, “Kale teeka engalo zo wano, laba ebibatu byange. Teeka ekibatu kyo mu mbiriizi zange. Lekeraawo okuba atakkiriza, naye kkiriza.”
Then He says to Thomas, Bring hither your finger, and see my hands, and bring your hand, and cast it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
28 Tomasi n’amuddamu nti, “Ggwe Mukama wange era Katonda wange.”
Thomas responded and said to Him, My Lord and my God.
29 Yesu n’amugamba nti, “Okkirizza kubanga ondabye. Balina omukisa abakkiriza nga tebaliiko kye balabye.”
Jesus says to him, Because you have seen me, you have believed: happy are those not seeing, and believing.
30 Yesu yakola ebyamagero ebirala bingi ng’abayigirizwa be balaba, ebitaawandiikibwa mu kitabo kino.
Indeed then Jesus also did many other miracles in the presence of His disciples, which have not been written in this book;
31 Naye bino byawandiikibwa mulyoke mukkirize nti Yesu ye Kristo Omwana wa Katonda era olw’okumukkiriza mulyoke mube n’obulamu mu linnya lye.
and these have been written in order that you may believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God; and in order that believing you may have life through His name.
