1 Awo bwe waayitawo ennaku bbiri ne wabaawo embaga ey’obugole mu Kaana eky’e Ggaliraaya ne nnyina Yesu yaliyo.
On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and Jesus' mother was there.
2 Yesu awamu n’abayigirizwa be nabo baayitibwa.
Jesus was also invited to the wedding, and so were his disciples.
3 Wayini bwe yaggwaawo, nnyina Yesu n’ajja gy’ali n’amugamba nti, “Tebakyalina wayini.”
When the wine ran out, Jesus' mother said to him, “They have no wine.”
4 Yesu n’amuddamu nti, “Maama ndeka, kubanga ekiseera kyange tekinnatuuka.”
Jesus said to her, “Woman, what concern is that to yoʋ or to me? My hour has not yet come.”
5 Nnyina Yesu n’agamba abaweereza nti, “Kyonna ky’abagamba kye muba mukola.”
But his mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
6 Waaliwo amasuwa amanene mukaaga agaategekebwa olw’omukolo gw’Abayudaaya ogw’okwetukuza, buli limu nga lirimu lita kikumi oba kikumi mu ataano.
Now six stone water jars had been set there for the Jewish rites of purification, each holding twenty to thirty gallons.
7 Yesu n’agamba abaweereza nti, “Amasuwa mugajjuze amazzi.” Ne bagajjuza okutuuka ku migo.
Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” So they filled them up to the brim.
8 Awo n’abagamba nti, “Kale musene mutwalire omukulu w’abagabuzi.” Ne basena ne bamutwalira.
Then he said to them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the feast.” So they took it,
9 Omukulu w’abagabuzi bwe yalega ku mazzi agafuuse wayini, nga tamanyi gy’avudde, so nga bo abaweereza baali bamanyi, n’ayita omugole omusajja
and the master of the feast tasted the water, which had been turned into wine. He did not know where it had come from, but the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then the master of the feast called the bridegroom aside
10 n’amugamba nti, “Bulijjo omuntu asooka kugabula wayini omuka, n’oluvannyuma ng’abagenyi be banywedde nnyo, tebakyafaayo olwo n’alyoka agabula ogutali muka nnyo. Naye ggwe wayini omuka gw’osembezzaayo!”
and said to him, “Everyone else serves the good wine first, and then the inferior wine after the guests have drunk freely; but yoʋ have kept the good wine until now.”
11 Ekyamagero kino, Yesu kye yasookerako okukola mu lwatu mu Kaana eky’e Ggaliraaya, ng’alaga ekitiibwa kye. Abayigirizwa be bwe baakiraba ne bamukkiriza.
Jesus did this in Cana of Galilee as the first of his signs. He revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.
12 Embaga bwe yaggwa Yesu n’adda e Kaperunawumu n’abayigirizwa be n’amalayo ennaku ntono ng’ali eyo ne nnyina ne baganda be.
After this he went down to Capernaum with his mother, his brothers, and his disciples, and they stayed there for a few days.
13 Embaga y’Abayudaaya ey’Okuyitako bwe yali eneetera okutuuka Yesu n’ayambuka e Yerusaalemi.
Now the Passover of the Jews was near, so Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
14 N’asanga mu Yeekaalu abaali batunda ente n’endiga n’amayiba era n’abali bawaanyisa ensimbi.
In the temple courts he found those who were selling oxen, sheep, and doves, and he also found the money changers sitting at their tables.
15 Awo Yesu n’addira emiguwa n’agifunyaafunya ne giba ng’embooko n’agobawo endiga n’ente, n’asaasaanya n’ensimbi ez’abaali bawaanyisa, n’avuunika n’emmeeza zaabwe.
So he made a whip of cords and drove them all out of the temple courts, along with their sheep and oxen. He also poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.
16 N’akyukira abaali batunda amayiba n’abagamba nti, “Bino mubiggye wo. Temufuula Nnyumba ya Kitange katale.”
Then he said to those who were selling doves, “Take these things away from here; stop making my Father's house a marketplace.”
17 Awo abayigirizwa ne bajjukira Ekyawandiikibwa ekigamba nti, “Obuggya bw’Ennyumba yo, Ayi Mukama, bulindya.”
And his disciples remembered that it is written, “Zeal for yoʋr house will consume me.”
18 Awo Abayudaaya ne bamubuuza nti, “Kabonero ki k’otulaga nti olina obuyinza okukola bino?”
In response the Jews said to him, “What sign can yoʋ show us to prove yoʋr authority to do these things?”
19 Yesu kwe kuddamu nti, “Mumenyeewo Yeekaalu eno ngizzeewo mu nnaku ssatu.”
Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
20 Ne bamuddamu nti, “Kiki ky’otegeeza? Yeekaalu eno yatwalira ddala emyaka amakumi ana mu mukaaga okuzimba oyinza otya okugizimbira ennaku essatu?”
The Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will yoʋ raise it up in three days?”
21 Kyokka Yeekaalu gye yali ayogerako gwe mubiri gwe.
But he was speaking about the temple of his body.
22 Yesu bwe yamala okuzuukira abayigirizwa ne bajjukira nti kino kye yali ayogerako. Ne bakkiriza ebyawandiikibwa n’ebigambo Yesu bye yayogerako.
So when he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.
23 Awo Yesu bwe yali mu Yerusaalemi mu kiseera eky’Embaga ey’Okuyitako, bangi baalaba obubonero bwe yali akola ne bakkiriza erinnya lye.
While Jesus was in Jerusalem during the feast of the Passover, many believed in his name because they saw the signs he was doing.
24 Kyokka Yesu teyabeesiga, kubanga amanyi abantu bonna,
But Jesus did not entrust himself to them, for he knew all men.
25 kubanga yamanya bw’afaanana, nga teyeetaaga kubuulirwa muntu kyali.
He did not need anyone to testify about man, for he himself knew what was in man.
