< Yokaana 14 >
1 “Omutima gwammwe tegweraliikiriranga. Mukkiriza Katonda, era nange munzikirize.
Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.
2 Mu nnyumba ya Kitange mulimu ebisenge bingi, era ŋŋenda okubateekerateekera ekifo. Singa tekiri bwe kityo nandibagambye.
In my Father’s home there are many dwellings. If it had not been so, I should have told you, for I am going to prepare a place for you.
3 Bwe ndimala okubateekerateekera ekifo ndikomawo, ne mbatwala gye ndi, Nze gye ndi nammwe gye muba mubeera.
And, since I go and prepare a place for you, I will return and take you to be with me, so that you may be where I am;
4 Era gye ŋŋenda ekkubo mulimanyi.”
and you know the way to the place where I am going.”
5 Tomasi n’amugamba nti, “Mukama waffe, tetumanyi gy’olaga, kale tuyinza tutya okumanya ekkubo?”
“We do not know where you are going, Master,” said Thomas. “So how can we know the way?”
6 Yesu n’addamu nti, “Nze kkubo, n’amazima n’obulamu. Tewali n’omu ajja eri Kitange wabula ng’ayita mu Nze.
Jesus answered, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one ever comes to the Father except through me.
7 Singa muntegedde ne Kitange mwandimutegedde. Era okuva kaakano mumulabye era mumutegedde.”
If you had recognized me, you would have known my Father also; for the future you will recognize him, indeed you have already seen him.”
8 Firipo n’amugamba nti, “Mukama waffe, tulage Kitaffe, kinaatumala.”
“Master, show us the Father,” said Philip, “and we will be satisfied.”
9 Yesu n’amugamba nti, “Firipo, kasookedde mbeera nammwe ebbanga lino lyonna era tontegeeranga? Buli alaba Nze aba alabye Kitange! Kale lwaki ate oyogera nti, ‘Tulage Kitaffe?’
“Have I been all this time among you,” said Jesus, “and yet you, Philip, have not recognized me? The person who has seen me has seen the Father, how can you say, then, ‘Show us the Father’?
10 Tokkiriza nga Nze ndi mu Kitange era ne Kitange ali mu Nze? Ebigambo bye mbategeeza si byange ku bwange, wabula biva eri Kitange abeera mu Nze, era akola emirimu ng’ayita mu Nze.
Don’t you believe that I am in union with the Father, and the Father with me? In giving you my teaching I am not speaking on my own authority; but the Father himself, always in union with me, does his own work.
11 Kale munzikirize nti ndi mu Kitange era nga ne Kitange ali mu Nze. Oba si ekyo munzikirize olw’emirimu gyokka.
Believe me,” he said to them all, “when I say that I am in union with the Father and the Father with me, or else believe me because of the work itself.
12 “Ddala ddala mbagamba nti buli anzikiriza alikola emirimu egyo gye nkola, era alikola egisinga egyo, kubanga Nze ŋŋenda eri Kitange.
In truth I tell you, the person who believes in me will themselves do the work that I am doing; and they will do greater work still, because I am going to the Father.
13 Era buli kye munaasabanga mu linnya Lyange nnaakibakoleranga, Kitange alyoke agulumizibwe mu Mwana.
Whatever you ask, in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be honored in the Son.
14 Bwe munaasabanga ekintu kyonna mu linnya lyange nnaakikolanga.”
If you ask anything, in my name, I will do it.
15 “Kale obanga munjagala mugonderenga ebiragiro byange,
If you love me, you will lay my commands to heart,
16 nange ndisaba Kitange n’abawa Omubeezi omulala anaabeeranga nammwe emirembe n’emirembe, (aiōn )
and I will ask the Father, and he will give you another helper, to be with you always – the Spirit of truth. (aiōn )
17 Mwoyo ow’Amazima ensi gwe teyinza kufuna, kubanga temulaba era temumanyi. Naye mmwe mumumanyi kubanga abeera nammwe, era anaabeeranga mu mmwe.
The world cannot receive this Spirit, because it does not see him or recognize him, but you recognize him, because he is always with you, and is within you.
18 Siribaleka nga bamulekwa, ndikomawo gye muli.
I will not leave you bereaved; I will come to you.
19 Mu bbanga ttono, ensi eneeba tekyandaba, naye mmwe nga mundaba. Kubanga Nze ndi mulamu, era nammwe muliba balamu.
In a little while the world will see me no more, but you will still see me; because I am living, you will be living also.
20 Ku lunaku olwo mulitegeera nga Nze ndi mu Kitange, era nga muli mu Nze, nga nange ndi mu mmwe.
At that time you will recognize that I am in union with the Father, and you with me, and I with you.
21 Buli anjagala anaagonderanga ebiragiro byange; era kubanga anjagala, ne Kitange anaamwagalanga. Era nange nnaamwagalanga, era nnaamulabikiranga.”
It is the person who has my commands and lays them to heart who loves me; and the person who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them, and will reveal myself to them.”
22 Yuda, atali Isukalyoti n’amugamba nti, “Mukama waffe, lwaki oyagala okweraga eri ffe so si eri ensi?”
“What has happened, Master,” said Judas (not Judas Iscariot), “that you are going to reveal yourself to us, and not to the world?”
23 Yesu n’amuddamu nti, “Omuntu yenna anjagala anaagonderanga ekigambo kyange, ne Kitange anaamwagalanga, era Nze ne Kitange tunajjanga ne tubeera mu ye era tunaatuulanga mu ye.
“Whoever loves me,” Jesus answered, “will lay my message to heart; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
24 Oyo atanjagala tagondera bigambo byange. Ate ebigambo bye njogera si byange ku bwange wabula bya Kitange eyantuma.
The person who does not love me will not lay my message to heart; and the message to which you are listening is not my own, but comes from the Father who sent me.
25 Ebyo mbibabuulidde nga nkyali nammwe.
I have told you all this while still with you,
26 Naye Omubeezi, Mwoyo Mutukuvu, Kitange gw’alituma mu linnya lyange, bw’alijja alibayigiriza ebintu byonna era alibajjukiza byonna bye nabagamba.
but the helper – the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name – will teach you all things, and will recall to your minds all that I have said to you.
27 Mbalekera emirembe, era mbawa emirembe gyange. Emirembe gye mbawa tegiringa egy’ensi. Noolwekyo temutyanga era temweraliikiriranga.
Peace be with you! My own peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, or dismayed.
28 “Mujjukire kye n’abagamba nti ŋŋenda era ndikomawo gye muli. Singa ddala mubadde munjagala mwandisanyuse kubanga ŋŋenda eri Kitange, kubanga Kitange y’ansinga ekitiibwa.
You heard me say that I was going away and would return to you. Had you loved me, you would have been glad that I was going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I.
29 Kaakano mbabuulidde ebintu bino nga tebinnabaawo, bwe birituukirira mulyoke munzikirize.
And this I have told you now before it happens, so that, when it does happen, you may still believe in me.
30 Sikyayogera bintu bingi nammwe, kubanga omufuzi omubi ow’ensi eno ajja. Naye Nze tanninaako buyinza.
I will not talk with you much more, for the Spirit that is ruling the world is coming. He has nothing in common with me;
31 Kyokka ensi eryoke emanye nti njagala Kitange, nzija kukola Kitange ky’andagidde. “Musituke tuve wano.”
but he is coming so that the world may see that I love the Father, and that I do as the Father commanded me. Come, let us be going.
