< Yokaana 13 >
1 Ku lunaku olukulembera Embaga ey’Okuyitako, Yesu yamanya ng’ekiseera kye kituuse ave mu nsi muno agende eri Kitaawe. Yesu bwe yayagala ababe mu nsi, yabalagira ddala okwagala kwe kwonna okutuusiza ddala ku kiseera ekisembayo.
Jesus having perceived, before the feast of the passover, that his time to remove out of this world to his Father, was come; and having loved his own, who were in the world, he loved them to the last.
2 Bwe baali balya ekyekiro, Setaani yali yamaze dda okuteeka mu mutima gwa Yuda Isukalyoti, omwana wa Simooni, ekirowoozo eky’okulya mu Yesu olukwe.
Now while they were at the supper, (the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him, )
3 Yesu bwe yamanya nti Kitaawe yateeka byonna mu mikono gye, era nga yava wa Katonda ate gy’adda,
Jesus, though he knew that the Father had subjected everything to him, and that he came from God, and was returning to God;
4 n’asituka ku mmere, ne yeggyako omunagiro gwe, ne yeesiba ettawulo mu kiwato,
arose from supper, and laying aside his mantle, girt himself about with a towel.
5 n’ateeka amazzi mu bensani, n’atandika okunaaza abayigirizwa be ebigere nga bw’abasiimuuza ettawulo gye yali yeesibye.
Then he poured water into a basin, and began to wash the feet of his disciples, and to wipe them with the towel with which he was girded.
6 Bwe yatuuka ku Simooni Peetero, Peetero n’amugamba nti, “Mukama wange, ggwe onnaaze ebigere?”
When he came to Simon Peter, Peter said to him, Master, would you wash my feet?
7 Yesu n’amuddamu nti, “Ensonga enkozesa kino togimanyi kaakano, wabula ekiseera kirituuka n’ogitegeera.”
Jesus answered, At present you do not comprehend what I am doing; but you shall know hereafter.
8 Peetero n’amuddamu nti, “Nedda, tolinnaaza bigere emirembe gyonna.” Yesu n’amugamba nti, “Bwe siikunaaze bigere, nga tossa kimu nange.” (aiōn )
Peter replied, You shall never wash my feet. Jesus answered, Unless I wash you, you can have no part with me. (aiōn )
9 Simooni Peetero n’amugamba nti, “Mukama wange, tonnaaza bigere byokka, naye nnaaza n’emikono n’omutwe.”
Simon Peter said to him, Master, not my feet only; but also my hands and my head.
10 Yesu n’amuddamu nti, “Anaabye omubiri, aba teyeetaaga kunaaba okuggyako ebigere byokka, alyoke abe omulongoofu. Kaakano muli balongoofu, naye si mwenna.”
Jesus replied, He who has been bathing, needs only to wash his feet; the rest of his body being clean.
11 Kubanga Yesu yamanya anaamulyamu olukwe. Kyeyava agamba nti, “Si mwenna abalongoofu.”
You are clean, but not all. For he knew who would betray him; therefore he said, You are not all clean.
12 Yesu bwe yamala okubanaaza ebigere n’ayambala omunagiro gwe, n’addayo n’atuula, n’abagamba nti, “Kye mbakoze mukitegedde?
After he had washed their feet, he put on his mantle, and replacing himself at table, said to them, Do you understand what I have been doing to you?
13 Mmwe mumpita Muyigiriza era Mukama wammwe, mukola bulungi okumpita bwe mutyo kubanga ddala bwe ntyo bwe ndi.
You call me the Teacher and the Master; and you say right; for so I am.
14 Kale Nze Mukama wammwe era Omuyigiriza, nga bwe mbanaazizza ebigere, nammwe musaana okunaazagananga ebigere.
If I, then, the Master and the Teacher, have washed your feet; you also ought to wash one another's feet.
15 Mbalaze ekyokulabirako, mukolenga nga Nze bwe mbakoze.
For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.
16 Ddala ddala mbagamba nti, Omuddu tasinga mukama we. Era n’oyo atumibwa tasinga oli amutumye.
Most assuredly, I say to you, the servant is not greater than his master, nor is the apostle greater than he who sends him.
17 Bwe mumanya ebintu bino muba n’omukisa bwe mubikola.
Happy are you, who know these things, provided you practice them.
18 Ebintu bino byonna sibyogera nammwe mwenna, buli omu ku mmwe be nalonda mmumanyi; ekyawandiikibwa kituukirire ekigamba nti, ‘Oyo bwe tulya emmere anneefuukidde!’
I speak not of you all. I know whom I have chosen: but the scripture must be fulfilled, "He that eats at my table, has lifted up his heel against me."
19 Kino nkibategeeza okuva kaakano, nga tekinnabaawo, bwe kinaabaawo mulyoke munzikirize.
I tell you this now, before it happen; that when it happens, you may believe that I am the Messiah.
20 Ddala ddala mbagamba nti buli asembeza gwe ntuma, ng’asembezezza Nze, era asembeza Nze ng’asembezezza oyo eyantuma.”
Most assuredly, I say to you, he that receives whomsoever I send, receives me; and he that receives me, receives him who sent me.
21 Yesu bwe yamala okwogera ebyo n’alumwa nnyo mu mwoyo, n’agamba nti, “Ddala ddala mbagamba, omu ku mmwe anandyamu olukwe.”
After uttering these words, Jesus was troubled in spirit, and declared, saying, Most assuredly, I say to you, one of you will betray me.
22 Abayigirizwa ne batunulaganako, nga tebamanyidde ddala gw’ayogerako.
Then the disciples looked one upon another, doubting of whom he spoke.
23 Omu ku bayigirizwa, Yesu gwe yayagalanga, yali agalamidde okumpi n’ekifuba kya Yesu,
Now one of his disciples, one whom Jesus loved, was lying close to his breast:
24 Simooni Peetero n’amutemyako ng’amugamba nti, “Mutubuulize gw’ayogerako.”
Simon Peter, therefore, made a sign to him, to inquire whom he meant.
25 Kale bwe yaddayo okugalamira ng’aliraanye ekifuba kya Yesu, n’amubuuza nti, “Mukama waffe, gw’oyogerako ye ani?”
He, then, reclining on Jesus' bosom, said to him, Master, who is it?
26 Yesu n’addamu nti, “Gwe nnaakoleza ekitole ne nkimuwa nga ye wuuyo.” Awo n’akwata ekitole, n’akikoza n’akiwa Yuda Isukalyoti omwana wa Simooni.
Jesus answered, It is he to whom I shall give this morsel, after I have dipped it. And having dipped the morsel, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
27 Yuda bwe yamala okuweebwa ekitole ekyo, Setaani n’amuyingiramu. Awo Yesu n’amugamba nti, “Ky’okola kikole mangu!”
After receiving the morsel, Satan entered into him. And Jesus said to him, What you do, do quickly.
28 Ku baali balya tewaali n’omu eyategeera kyeyava amugamba bw’atyo.
But none at the table knew, why he gave this order.
29 Abamu baalowooza nti nga Yuda bwe yali atereka ensimbi, Yesu amugambye agende agule bye beetaaga ku mbaga, oba nti abeeko by’agabira abaavu.
Some imagined, because Judas had the purse, that Jesus had signified to him to buy necessaries for the festival; or, to give something to the poor.
30 Yuda olwafuna ekitole, amangwago n’afuluma ebweru; obudde bwali kiro.
When Judas had taken the morsel, he immediately went out: and it was night.
31 Yuda olwafuluma, Yesu n’agamba nti, “Kaakano Omwana w’Omuntu agulumizibbwa ne Katonda agulumizibbwa mu ye.
When he was gone, Jesus said, the Son of Man is now glorified, and God is glorified by him.
32 Era obanga Katonda agulumizibbwa mu ye, Katonda yeegulumiza ye yennyini, era amangwago ajja kumugulumiza.
If God is glorified by him, God also will glorify him by himself, and that without delay.
33 “Baana bange, akaseera katono ke nkyali nammwe. Mulinnoonya era nga bwe nagamba Abayudaaya nti, ‘Gye ŋŋenda mmwe temuyinza kujjayo,’ era nammwe bwe mbagamba kaakano.
My children, I have now but a little time to be with you. You will seek me, and what I said to the Jews, Whither I go, you can not come; I say at present to you.
34 “Mbawa ekiragiro ekiggya: Mwagalanenga nga nze bwe mbaagala.
A new commandment I give you, that you love one another; that as I have loved you, you also love one another.
35 Bwe munaayagalananga abantu bonna kwe banaategeereranga nti muli bayigirizwa bange.”
By this shall all men know, that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another.
36 Awo Simooni Peetero n’amubuuza nti, “Mukama waffe olaga wa?” Yesu n’amuddamu nti, “Tosobola kugenda nange kaakano, wabula olingoberera oluvannyuma.”
Simon Peter said to him, Master, whither are you going? Jesus answered, Whither I am going, you can not follow me now; but afterward you shall follow me.
37 Peetero n’amubuuza nti, “Mukama wange, lwaki siyinza kukugoberera kaakano? Nnaawaayo obulamu bwange ku lulwo.”
Peter replied, Master, why can not I follow you presently? I will lay down my life for your sake!
38 Yesu n’amuddamu nti, “Onoowaayo obulamu bwo ku lwange? Ddala ddala nkugamba nti, Enkoko eneeba tennakookolima, ononneegaana emirundi esatu.”
Jesus answered him, Will you lay down your life for my sake? Most assuredly, I say to you, the cock shall not crow, till you have disowned me thrice.
