< Yobu 33 >
1 “Kaakano ggwe Yobu, wuliriza ebigambo byange: ssaayo omwoyo ku byonna bye njogera.
“And yet, please, O Job, Hear my speech and give ear [to] all my words.
2 Laba nnaatera okwasamya akamwa kange, ebigambo byange bindi ku lulimi.
Now behold, I have opened my mouth, My tongue has spoken in the palate.
3 Ebigambo byange biva mu mutima omulongoofu; olulimi lwange, mu bwesimbu, lwogera bye mmanyi.
Of the uprightness of my heart [are] my sayings, And my lips have clearly spoken knowledge.
4 Omwoyo wa Katonda ye yankola, era omukka gw’oyo Ayinzabyonna gumpa obulamu.
The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Mighty quickens me.
5 Onnyanukule nno bw’oba osobola, teekateeka ebigambo byo onjolekere.
If you are able—answer me, Set in array before me—station yourself.
6 Laba, nange ndi ggwe mu maaso ga Katonda. Nange nava mu bbumba.
Behold, I [am], according to your word, for God, I have also been formed from the clay.
7 Tobaako ky’otya, sijja kukunyigiriza.
Behold, my terror does not frighten you, And my burden on you is not heavy.
8 Ddala ddala oyogedde mpulira, ebigambo byennyini mbiwulidde ng’ogamba nti,
Surely you have spoken in my ears, And the sounds of words I hear:
9 Ndi mulongoofu sirina kibi, siriiko musango so mu nze temuli butali butuukirivu.
I [am] pure, without transgression, I [am] innocent, and I have no iniquity.
10 Kyokka Katonda anteekako omusango, anfudde omulabe we.
Behold, He develops hindrances against me, He reckons me for an enemy to Him,
11 Asiba ebigere byange mu nvuba, antwala okuba omulabe we.
He puts my feet in the stocks, He watches all my paths.
12 “Naye leka nkubuulire, mu kino toli mutuufu. Katonda asinga omuntu.
Behold, you have not been righteous [in] this, I answer you, that God is greater than man.
13 Lwaki omwemulugunyiza nti, taddamu bigambo bya muntu yenna?
Why have you striven against Him, When [for] all His matters He does not answer?
14 Kubanga Katonda ayogerera mu ngeri emu, n’awalala n’ayogerera mu ngeri endala, wadde ng’omuntu tassaayo mwoyo.
For once God speaks, and twice (he does not behold it),
15 Mu kirooto mu kwolesebwa ekiro ng’otulo tungi tukutte abantu nga beebase ku bitanda byabwe,
In a dream—a vision of night, In the falling of deep sleep on men, In slumberings on a bed.
16 aggula amatu g’abantu, n’abalabula n’ebyekango,
Then He uncovers the ear of men, And seals for their instruction,
17 alyoke akyuse omuntu okumuggya mu bikolwa ebibi n’amalala,
To turn aside man [from] doing, And He conceals pride from man.
18 aziyize emmeeme ye okukka mu bunnya, n’obulamu bwe buleme okuzikirira n’ekitala.
He keeps back his soul from corruption, And his life from passing away by a dart.
19 “Omuntu ayinza okubonerezebwa, olumbe ne lumulumira ku kitanda kye, n’alumwa olutatadde mu magumba ge,
And he has been reproved With pain on his bed, And the strife of his bones [is] enduring.
20 obulamu bwe ne bwetamira ddala emmere, emmeeme ye n’ekyayira ddala ebyassava.
And his life has nauseated bread, And his soul desirable food.
21 Omubiri gwe gugwako ku magumba, n’amagumba ge ne gafubutukayo gye gaali geekwese,
His flesh is consumed from being seen, And his bones are high, they were not seen!
22 emmeeme ye n’esembera kumpi n’obunnya; obulamu bwe ne bulaga eri abo abaleeta okufa.
And his soul draws near to the pit, And his life to those causing death.
23 Singa wabaawo malayika ku ludda lwe, amuwolereza, omu ku lukumi, okubuulira omuntu ekigwanidde;
If there is a messenger by him, An interpreter—one of a thousand, To declare for man his uprightness,
24 yandimukwatiddwa ekisa n’amugamba nti, ‘Muwonye aleme kusuulibwa magombe, mmusasulidde omutango,’
Then He favors him and says, Ransom him from going down to the pit, I have found an atonement.
25 omubiri gwe guzzibwa buggya ng’ogw’omwana omuwere, era guddayo ne gubeera nga bwe gwali mu nnaku ze ez’obuvubuka.
Fresher [is] his flesh than a child’s, He returns to the days of his youth.
26 Omuntu asaba Katonda, Katonda n’amukwatirwa ekisa. Alaba amaaso ga Katonda n’ajaguza n’essanyu, Katonda n’amuddiza nate ekifo kye eky’obutuukirivu.
He makes supplication to God, And He accepts him. And he sees His face with shouting, And He returns to man His righteousness.
27 Awo omuntu n’akomawo eri abantu n’abagamba nti, Nayonoona, ne nkola ekyo ekitaali kirungi, naye ne sibonerezebwa nga bwe kyali kiŋŋwanidde.
[Then] he looks on men and says, I sinned, and I have perverted uprightness, And it has not been profitable to me.
28 Yanunula emmeeme yange n’amponya okukka mu bunnya; kyenaava mbeera omulamu ne nsigala nga mpoomerwa ekitangaala.
He has ransomed my soul From going over into the pit, And my life looks on the light.
29 “Bw’atyo Katonda bw’akola omuntu emirundi ebiri oba esatu,
Behold, God works all these, Twice, [even] three times with man,
30 okuzza emmeeme ye ng’agiggya emagombe, ekitangaala eky’obulamu kimwakire.
To bring back his soul from the pit, To be enlightened with the light of the living.
31 “Yobu, weetegereze nnyo, ompulirize; siriikirira nkubuulire.
Attend, O Job, listen to me, Keep silent, and I speak.
32 Bw’oba ng’olina eky’okwogera kyonna, nziraamu; yogera kubanga njagala wejjeerere.
If there are words—answer me, Speak, for I have a desire to justify you.
33 Bwe kitaba kityo, mpuliriza; sirika nange nnaakuyigiriza amagezi.”
If there are not—listen to me, Keep silent, and I teach you wisdom.”
