< Yobu 17 >
1 Omutima gwange gwennyise, ennaku zange zisalibbwaako, entaana enninze.
“My spirit has been destroyed, My days extinguished—graves [are] for me.
2 Ddala abansekerera bannetoolodde; amaaso gange gabeekengera.
If not—mockeries [are] with me. And my eye lodges in their provocations.
3 “Ompe, Ayi Katonda akakalu k’onsaba. Ani omulala ayinza okunneeyimirira?
Now place my pledge with You; Who is he that strikes hand with me?
4 Ozibye emitima gyabwe obutategeera; noolwekyo toobakkirize kuwangula.
For You have hidden their heart from understanding, Therefore You do not exalt them.
5 Omusajja avumirira mikwano gye olw’empeera alireetera amaaso g’abaana be okuziba.
For a portion he shows friendship, And the eyes of his sons are consumed.
6 “Katonda anfudde ekisekererwa eri buli omu, anfudde buli omu gw’afujjira amalusu mu maaso.
And He set me up for a proverb of the peoples, And I am a wonder before them.
7 Amaaso gange gayimbadde olw’okunakuwala; omubiri gwange gwonna kaakano guli nga kisiikirize.
And my eye is dim from sorrow, And my members—all of them—as a shadow.
8 Abantu ab’amazima beesisiwala olwa kino; atalina musango agolokokedde ku oyo atatya Katonda.
The upright are astonished at this, and the innocent stirs himself up against the profane.
9 Naye era abatuukirivu banaakwatanga amakubo gaabwe, n’abo ab’emikono emirongoofu baneeyongeranga amaanyi.
And the righteous lays hold [on] his way, And the clean of hands adds strength.
10 “Naye mukomeewo mwenna kaakano, mujje, naye siraba muntu mugezi mu mmwe!
But please return and come in, all of you, And I do not find a wise man among you.
11 Ennaku zange ziyise entegeka zange zoonoonese, era bwe kityo n’okwegomba kw’omutima gwange.
My days have passed by, My plans have been broken off, The possessions of my heart!
12 Abantu bano ekiro bakifuula emisana; mu kizikiza mwennyini mwe bagambira nti, Ekitangaala kinaatera okujja.
They appoint night for day, Light [is] near because of darkness.
13 Amagombe bwe gaba nga ge maka mwe nnina essuubi, bwe njala obuliri bwange mu kizikiza, (Sheol )
If I wait—Sheol [is] my house, In darkness I have spread out my bed. (Sheol )
14 ne ŋŋamba amagombe nti, ‘Ggwe kitange,’ era n’eri envunyu nti, ‘Ggwe mmange,’ oba nti, ‘Ggwe mwannyinaze,’
To corruption I have called: You [are] my father. To the worm: My mother and my sister.
15 kale essuubi lyange liba ludda wa? Ani ayinza okuliraba?
And where [is] my hope now? Indeed, my hope, who beholds it?
16 Nalyo lirigenda eri enzigi z’emagombe Oba tuligenda ffenna mu nfuufu?” (Sheol )
You go down [to] the parts of Sheol, If we may rest together on the dust.” (Sheol )
