< Yobu 13 >
1 “Laba, eriiso lyange lyalaba ebyo byonna, n’okutu kwange ne kuwulira ne mbitegeera.
“Behold, my eye has seen all, My ear has heard, and it attends to it.
2 Kye mumanyi nange kye mmanyi; siri wa wansi ku mmwe.
According to your knowledge I have known—also I. I am not more fallen than you.
3 Naye neegomba okwogera n’oyo Ayinzabyonna, era n’okuleeta ensonga zange mu maaso ga Katonda.
Yet I speak for the Mighty One, And I delight to argue for God.
4 Naye mmwe mumpayiriza; muli basawo abatagasa mmwe mwenna!
And yet, you [are] forgers of falsehood, Physicians of nothing—all of you,
5 Kale singa musirika! Olwo lwe mwandibadde n’amagezi.
O that you would keep perfectly silent, And it would be to you for wisdom.
6 Muwulire kaakano endowooza yange, muwulirize okwegayirira kw’emimwa gyange.
Please hear my argument, And attend to the pleadings of my lips,
7 Katonda munaamwogerera nga mwogera ebitali bya butuukirivu? Munaamwogerera eby’obulimba?
Do you speak perverseness for God? And do you speak deceit for Him?
8 Munaamulaga ng’ataliiko luuyi, munaamuwoleza ensonga ze.
Do you accept His face, if you strive for God?
9 Singa akukebera, anaakusanga oli bulungi? Oyinza okumulimba nga bw’oyinza okulimba abantu?
Is [it] good that He searches you, If, as one mocks at a man, you mock at Him?
10 Tayinza butakunenya, singa osaliriza mu bubba.
He surely reproves you, if you accept faces in secret.
11 Ekitiibwa kye ekisukiridde tekyandikutiisizza? Entiisa ye teyandikuguddeko?
Does His excellence not terrify you? And His dread fall on you?
12 Ebigambo byammwe ebijjukirwa ngero za vvu, n’okwewolereza kwammwe kwa bbumba.
Your remembrances [are] allegories of ashes, For high places of clay [are] your heights.
13 Musirike nze njogere; kyonna ekinantukako kale kintuukeko.
Keep silent from me, and I speak, And pass over me what will.
14 Lwaki neeteeka mu mitawaana, obulamu bwange ne mbutwalira mu mikono gyange?
Why do I take my flesh in my teeth? And my soul put in my hand?
15 Ne bw’anzita, mu ye mwe nnina essuubi, ddala ddala nditwala ensonga zange mu maaso ge.
Behold, He slays me—I do not wait! Only, I argue my ways to His face.
16 Ddala kino kinaavaamu okusumululwa kwange, kubanga teri muntu atatya Katonda ayinza kwetantala kujja mu maaso ge!
Also—He [is] to me for salvation, For the profane do not come before Him.
17 Muwulirize ebigambo byange n’obwegendereza; amatu gammwe gawulire bye ŋŋamba.
Hear my word diligently, And my declaration with your ears.
18 Kaakano nga bwe ntegese empoza yange, mmanyi nti nzija kwejeerera.
Now behold, I have set the cause in order, I have known that I am righteous.
19 Waliwo ayinza okuleeta emisango gye nvunaanibwa? Bwe kiba bwe kityo, nzija kusirika nfe.
Who [is] he that strives with me? For now I keep silent and gasp.
20 Ebintu ebyo ebibiri byokka by’oba ompa, Ayi Katonda, awo sijja kukwekweka.
Only two things, O God, do with me, Then I am not hidden from Your face:
21 Nzigyako omukono gwo, olekere awo okuntiisatiisa n’okunkangakanga.
Put Your hand far off from me, And do not let Your terror terrify me.
22 Kale nno ompite nzija kukuddamu, oba leka njogere ggwe onziremu.
And You call, and I answer, Or—I speak, and You answer me.
23 Nsobi meka era bibi bimeka bye nkoze? Ndaga ekibi kyange era n’omusango gwange.
How many iniquities and sins do I have? Let me know my transgression and my sin.
24 Lwaki okweka amaaso go, n’onfuula omulabe wo?
Why do You hide Your face? And reckon me for an enemy to You?
25 Onoobonyaabonya ekikoola ekifuuyiddwa omuyaga? Onooyigga ebisasiro ebikaze?
Do You terrify a leaf driven away? And do You pursue the dry stubble?
26 Kubanga ompadiikako ebintu ebiruma, n’ondeetera okuddamu okwetikka ebibi byange eby’omu buvubuka.
For You write bitter things against me, And cause me to possess iniquities of my youth,
27 Oteeka ebigere byange mu nvuba, era okuuma butiribiri amakubo gange mwe mpita ng’oteeka obubonero ku bisinziiro by’ebigere byange.
And you put my feet in the stocks, And observe all my paths—You set a print on the roots of my feet,
28 Bw’atyo omuntu bw’aggwaawo ng’ekintu ekivundu, ng’olugoye oluliiriddwa ennyenje.”
And he, as a rotten thing, wears away, A moth has consumed him as a garment.”
