< Yeremiya 25 >

1 Ekigambo ekikwata ku bantu bonna aba Yuda ne kijjira Yeremiya mu mwaka ogwokuna ogw’obufuzi bwa Yekoyakimu mutabani wa Yosiya kabaka wa Yuda, ogwali omwaka ogusooka ogw’obufuzi bwa kabaka Nebukadduneeza mu bwakabaka bwa Babulooni.
This is the word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, which was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.
2 Awo Yeremiya nnabbi n’agamba abantu bonna aba Yuda n’abantu bonna abaali mu Yerusaalemi nti,
So the prophet Jeremiah spoke to all the people of Judah and all the residents of Jerusalem as follows:
3 Okuva mu mwaka ogw’ekkumi n’esatu ogw’obufuzi bwa Yosiya mutabani wa Amoni kabaka wa Yuda, gy’emyaka amakumi abiri mu esatu okutuusa leero, ekigambo kya Mukama kizze gye ndi era njogedde gye muli emirundi mingi, naye temufuddeeyo.
“From the thirteenth year of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah until this very day—twenty-three years—the word of the LORD has come to me, and I have spoken to you again and again, but you have not listened.
4 Newaakubadde nga Mukama abaweerezza bannabbi be emirundi mingi, temuwulirizza wadde okufaayo.
And the LORD has sent all His servants the prophets to you again and again, but you have not listened or inclined your ear to hear.
5 Babagamba nti, “Mukyuke kaakano, buli omu ku mmwe okuva mu bikolwa bye ebibi, mulyoke musigale mu nsi Mukama gye yabawa mmwe ne bakitammwe emirembe gyonna.
The prophets told you, ‘Turn now, each of you, from your evil ways and deeds, and you can dwell in the land that the LORD has given to you and your fathers forever and ever.
6 Temugoberera bakatonda balala, temubaweereza wadde okubasinza; temunsunguwaza olw’ekyo emikono gyammwe kye gyakola, nneme okubakolako obulabe.”
Do not follow other gods to serve and worship them, and do not provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands. Then I will do you no harm.’
7 “Naye temwampuliriza, mwansunguwaza n’ekyo kye mwakola n’emikono gyammwe, era ne mwereetera akabi,” bw’ayogera Mukama Katonda.
‘But to your own harm, you have not listened to Me,’ declares the LORD, ‘so you have provoked Me to anger with the works of your hands.’
8 Noolwekyo bw’ati bw’ayogera Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye nti, “Kubanga temuwulirizza bigambo byange,
Therefore this is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘Because you have not obeyed My words,
9 nzija kukoowoola abantu bonna ab’omu bukiikakkono n’omuddu wange Nebukadduneeza, balumbe ensi eno n’abantu baamu era n’ensi zonna ezibeetoolodde. Nzija kuzizikiririza ddala nzifuule ekintu eky’entiisa era eky’okusekererwa, era zoonoonekere ddala.
behold, I will summon all the families of the north, declares the LORD, and I will send for My servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, whom I will bring against this land, against its residents, and against all the surrounding nations. So I will devote them to destruction and make them an object of horror and contempt, an everlasting desolation.
10 Ndibagobako eddoboozi ery’essanyu era n’okujaguza, eddoboozi ery’awasa omugole n’ery’omugole, eddoboozi ly’olubengo n’okwaka kw’ettaala.
Moreover, I will banish from them the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of the bride and bridegroom, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp.
11 Ensi eno yonna ejja kufuuka matongo, n’amawanga gano gajja kuweereza kabaka w’e Babulooni emyaka nsanvu.
And this whole land will become a desolate wasteland, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon for seventy years.
12 “Naye emyaka ensanvu bwe giriggwako, ndibonereza kabaka w’e Babulooni n’eggwanga lye, ensi ya Babulooni olw’ekibi kyabwe, ngifuule matongo emirembe gyonna,” bw’ayogera Mukama.
But when seventy years are complete, I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation, the land of the Chaldeans, for their guilt, declares the LORD, and I will make it an everlasting desolation.
13 “Ndireeta ku nsi eno ebintu byonna bye njogeddeko, ebyo byonna ebiwandiikiddwa ku muzingo guno era ne Yeremiya byategeezezza amawanga gano gonna.
I will bring upon that land all the words I have pronounced against it, all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah has prophesied against all the nations.
14 Bo bennyini balifuulibwa baddu ba mawanga mangi era baddu ba bakabaka ab’ekitiibwa; ndibasasula ng’ebikolwa byabwe bwe biri n’emirimu gy’emikono gyabwe bwe giri.”
For many nations and great kings will enslave them, and I will repay them according to their deeds and according to the work of their hands.’”
15 Bw’ati Mukama, Katonda wa Isirayiri bwe yaŋŋamba nti, “Twala ekikopo kino, okuva mu mukono gwange, ekijjudde wayini ow’obusungu bwange, okinywese amawanga gonna gye nnaakutuma okukibanywesa.
This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, said to me: “Take from My hand this cup of the wine of wrath, and make all the nations to whom I send you drink from it.
16 Bwe banaakinywa, bajja kugwa eddalu batagale olw’ekitala kye nnaabasindikamu.”
And they will drink and stagger and go out of their minds, because of the sword that I will send among them.”
17 Awo ne ntwala ekikopo okuva mu Mukono gwa Mukama ne nkitwala eri amawanga gonna gye yantuma okukibanywesa;
So I took the cup from the LORD’s hand and made all the nations drink from it, each one to whom the LORD had sent me,
18 Yerusaalemi n’ebibuga bya Yuda, ne bakabaka baabyo n’abakungu basaanewo era bafuuke ekintu eky’entiisa n’okuzikirira, n’okusekererwa n’ekikolimo nga bwe bali kaakano.
to make them a ruin, an object of horror and contempt and cursing, as they are to this day—Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, its kings and officials;
19 Falaawo, ye kabaka w’e Misiri, ne bakalabaalaba be, n’abakungu be n’abantu be bonna,
Pharaoh king of Egypt, his officials, his leaders, and all his people;
20 n’abagwira bonna abaaliyo; bakabaka ba Uzi bonna, ne bakabaka b’Abafirisuuti bonna, abo ab’e Asukulooni, n’e Gaza, n’e Ekuloni, n’abantu abaalekebwa e Asudodi,
all the mixed tribes; all the kings of Uz; all the kings of the Philistines: Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;
21 n’e Edomu, n’e Mowaabu n’e Ammoni,
Edom, Moab, and the Ammonites;
22 bakabaka bonna ab’e Tuulo ne Sidoni, bakabaka ab’oku lubalama ng’osomose ennyanja;
all the kings of Tyre and Sidon; the kings of the coastlands across the sea;
23 Dedani, n’e Teema, n’e Buuzi n’abo bonna abali mu bifo eby’ewala,
Dedan, Tema, Buz, and all who cut the corners of their hair;
24 ne bakabaka bonna ab’e Buwalabu, ne bakabaka b’abannamawanga ababeera mu ddungu;
all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mixed tribes who dwell in the desert;
25 ne bakabaka bonna ab’e Zimuli, n’e Eramu n’e Meedi;
all the kings of Zimri, Elam, and Media;
26 n’abo bonna bakabaka ab’omu bukiikakkono, abeewala, n’ab’okumpi, omu ku omu, obwakabaka bwonna obuli ku nsi. Oluvannyuma lwabo kabaka w’e Sesaki naye balikinywa.
all the kings of the north, both near and far, one after another—all the kingdoms on the face of the earth. And after all of them, the king of Sheshach will drink it too.
27 “Era onoobagamba nti, ‘Bw’atyo bw’ayogera Mukama ow’Eggye, Katonda wa Isirayiri nti, Munywe mutamiire, museseme, mugwe muleme kuddayo kusituka olw’ekitala ekyo kye ŋŋenda okusindika mu mmwe.’
“Then you are to tell them that this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘Drink, get drunk, and vomit. Fall down and never get up again, because of the sword I will send among you.’
28 Naye bwe bagaana okuggya ekikopo mu mukono gwo okukinywa, bagambe nti, ‘Kino Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye ky’agamba nti, Muteekwa okukinywa!
If they refuse to take the cup from your hand and drink it, you are to tell them that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘You most certainly must drink it!
29 Laba, ntandika okuzikiriza ekibuga ekiyitibwa Erinnya lyange, ddala munaagenda nga temubonerezeddwa? Mujja kubonerezebwa kubanga nkoowoola ekitala kikke ku abo bonna abali ku nsi, bw’ayogera Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye.’
For behold, I am beginning to bring disaster on the city that bears My Name, so how could you possibly go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for I am calling down a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, declares the LORD of Hosts.’
30 “Kaakano bategeeze ebigambo bino byonna obagambe nti, “‘Mukama Katonda anaayogerera waggulu, era anaayimusa eddoboozi lye okuva mu kifo kye ekitukuvu awulugume n’amaanyi mangi nnyo ng’awakanya bonna abali mu nsi. Ajja kuleekaana ng’abasogozi abasamba emizabbibu, ng’aleekaanira abo abali ku nsi.
So you are to prophesy all these words against them and say to them: ‘The LORD will roar from on high; He will raise His voice from His holy habitation. He will roar loudly over His pasture; like those who tread the grapes, He will call out with a shout against all the inhabitants of the earth.
31 Eddoboozi lye liriwulirwa n’ensi gy’ekoma. Kubanga Mukama alisalira amawanga emisango gy’abavunaana, alisalira abantu bonna omusango, atte ababi n’ekitala,’” bw’ayogera Mukama.
The tumult will resound to the ends of the earth because the LORD brings a charge against the nations. He brings judgment on all mankind and puts the wicked to the sword,’”
32 Bw’ati bw’ayogera Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye nti, “Laba okuzikirira kugenda kusaasaana kuva nsi ku nsi; enkuba ey’amaanyi ejja kuva ku nkomerero y’ensi.”
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Behold! Disaster is spreading from nation to nation; a mighty storm is rising from the ends of the earth.”
33 Mu kiseera ekyo abo abattiddwa Mukama bajja kubeera buli wamu okuva ku nsonda emu ey’ensi okutuuka ku ndala. Tebajja kukungubagirwa wadde okukuŋŋaanyizibwa oba okuziikibwa, naye banaaba ng’obusa obulekeddwa ku ttaka.
Those slain by the LORD on that day will be spread from one end of the earth to the other. They will not be mourned, gathered, or buried. They will be like dung lying on the ground.
34 Mukaabe mulaajane mmwe abasumba, mwevulunge mu ttaka, mmwe abakulu b’ebisibo. Kubanga obudde bwammwe obw’okuttibwa butuuse mujja kugwa mubetentebwe ng’ebibya eby’ebbumba.
Wail, you shepherds, and cry out; roll in the dust, you leaders of the flock. For the days of your slaughter have come; you will fall and be shattered like fine pottery.
35 Abasumba tebaabeeko na buddukiro, n’abakulu b’ebisibo tebaabeeko na wa kwekweka.
Flight will evade the shepherds, and escape will elude the leaders of the flock.
36 Muwulire okukaaba kw’abasumba, okwaziirana kw’abanannyini b’ebisibo, kubanga Mukama alizikiriza amalundiro gaabwe.
Hear the cry of the shepherds, the wailing of the leaders of the flock, for the LORD is destroying their pasture.
37 Amalundiro amalungi galifuuka matongo olw’obusungu bwa Mukama obubuubuuka.
The peaceful meadows have been silenced because of the LORD’s burning anger.
38 Ajja kuleka ekisulo kye ng’empologoma bw’eva w’esula, n’ensi yaabwe ejja kusigala njereere olw’ekitala ky’omulumbaganyi era n’olw’obusungu bwa Mukama obw’entiisa.
He has left His den like a lion, for their land has been made a desolation by the sword of the oppressor, and because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
