< Isaaya 9 >
1 Naye tewaliba kizikiza eri oyo eyali mu kubonaabona. Edda yatoowaza ensi ya Zebbulooni n’ensi ya Nafutaali, naye mu kiseera ekijja aliwa Ggaliraaya ekitiibwa, ensi ey’abamawanga emitala wa Yoludaani, awali ekkubo erigenda ku nnyanja.
As the former time made light The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, So the latter hath honoured the way of the sea, Beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.
2 Abantu abaatambuliranga mu kizikiza balabye ekitangaala eky’amaanyi, abo abaatuulanga mu nsi ey’ekizikiza ekingi, omusana gubaakidde.
The people who are walking in darkness Have seen a great light, Dwellers in a land of death-shade, Light hath shone upon them.
3 Oyazizza eggwanga, obongedde essanyu, basanyukira mu maaso go ng’abantu bwe basanyuka mu biseera eby’amakungula, ng’abasajja bwe basanyuka nga bagabana omunyago.
Thou hast multiplied the nation, Thou hast made great its joy, They have joyed before Thee as the joy in harvest, As [men] rejoice in their apportioning spoil.
4 Nga ku lunaku Abamidiyaani lwe baawangulwa, omenye ekikoligo ekyamuzitoowereranga, n’ekiti eky’oku kibegabega kye, n’oluga lw’oyo amunyigiriza.
Because the yoke of its burden, And the staff of its shoulder, the rod of its exactor, Thou hast broken as [in] the day of Midian.
5 Kubanga buli ngatto ya mulwanyi ekozesebwa mu lutalo na buli kyambalo ekibunye omusaayi, biriba bya kwokebwa, bye birikozesebwa okukoleeza omuliro.
For every battle of a warrior [is] with rushing, and raiment rolled in blood, And it hath been for burning — fuel of fire.
6 Kubanga omwana atuzaaliddwa ffe, omwana owoobulenzi atuweereddwa ffe, n’okufuga kunaabanga ku bibegabega bye. N’erinnya lye aliyitibwa nti, Wa kitalo, Omuwi w’amagezi, Katonda Ayinzabyonna, Kitaffe ow’Emirembe Gyonna, Omulangira w’Emirembe.
For a Child hath been born to us, A Son hath been given to us, And the princely power is on his shoulder, And He doth call his name Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace.
7 Okufuga kwe n’emirembe biryeyongeranga obutakoma. Alifugira ku ntebe ya Dawudi ne ku bwakabaka bwe, n’okubuwanirira n’obwenkanya n’obutuukirivu okuva leero okutuusa emirembe gyonna. Obumalirivu bwa Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye bulikituukiriza ekyo.
To the increase of the princely power, And of peace, there is no end, On the throne of David, and on his kingdom, To establish it, and to support it, In judgment and in righteousness, Henceforth, even unto the age, The zeal of Jehovah of Hosts doth this.
8 Mukama yaweereza obubaka obukwata ku Yakobo, ku birituuka ku Isirayiri.
A word hath the Lord sent into Jacob, And it hath fallen in Israel.
9 Era abantu bonna balibumanya, Efulayimu n’abantu b’omu Samaliya aboogera n’amalala n’omutima omukakanyavu,
And the people have known — all of it, Ephraim, and the inhabitant of Samaria, In pride and in greatness of heart, saying,
10 nti, “Amatoffaali gagudde wansi naye tulizimbya amayinja amateme, emisukamooli gitemeddwawo naye tulizzaawo emivule.”
'Bricks have fallen, and hewn work we build, Sycamores have been cut down, and cedars we renew.'
11 Mukama Katonda kyaliva awa abalabe ba Lezini amaanyi bamulumbe; alibakumaakuma bamulumbe.
And Jehovah setteth the adversaries of Rezin on high above him, And his enemies he joineth together,
12 Abasuuli balisinziira mu buvanjuba, n’Abafirisuuti bave ebugwanjuba, balyoke basaanyeewo Isirayiri n’akamwa akaasamye. Newaakubadde nga biri bityo, obusungu bwa Mukama buliba tebunnavaawo era omukono gwe guliba gukyagoloddwa.
Aram from before, and Philistia from behind, And they devour Israel with the whole mouth. With all this not turned back hath His anger, And still His hand is stretched out.
13 Kubanga abantu tebakyuse kudda wadde okunoonya Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye eyabakuba.
And the people hath not turned back unto Him who is smiting it, And Jehovah of Hosts they have not sought.
14 Bw’atyo Mukama Katonda kyaliva asala ku Isirayiri, omutwe n’omukira, ettabi n’olukindu mu lunaku lumu.
And Jehovah cutteth off from Israel head and tail, Branch and reed — the same day,
15 Omutwe be bakadde n’abantu ab’ekitiibwa, n’omukira be bannabbi abayigiriza eby’obulimba.
Elder, and accepted of face, he [is] the head, Prophet, teacher of falsehood, he [is] the tail.
16 Kubanga abakulembera abantu bano bababuzaabuuza, n’abo abakulemberwa babuzibwabuzibwa.
And the eulogists of this people are causing to err, And its eulogised ones are consumed.
17 Noolwekyo, Mukama tajja kusanyukira bavubuka, wadde okukwatirwa ekisa abo abataliiko ba kitaabwe wadde bannamwandu; kubanga buli omu mukozi wa bibi, era buli kamwa konna kogera eby’obuwemu. Olwa bino byonna, obusungu bwa Mukama tebunakyusibwa kubavaako, era omukono gwe gukyagoloddwa.
Therefore, over its young men the Lord rejoiceth not, And its orphans, and its widows He pitieth not, For every one [is] profane, and an evil doer, And every mouth is speaking folly. With all this not turned back hath His anger, And still His hand is stretched out.
18 Ddala ekibi kyokya ng’omuliro; gumalawo emyeramannyo n’obusaana. Era gukoleeza eby’omu kibira, omukka ne gunyooka ne gutumbiira waggulu.
For burned as a fire hath wickedness, Brier and thorn it devoureth, And it kindleth in thickets of the forest, And they lift themselves up, an exaltation of smoke!
19 Olw’obusungu bwa Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye ensi eggiiridde ddala, era n’abantu bali ng’enku ez’okukuma omuliro, tewali muntu alekawo muganda we.
In the wrath of Jehovah of Hosts Hath the land been consumed, And the people is as fuel of fire; A man on his brother hath no pity,
20 Balimalawo eby’oku mukono ogwa ddyo, naye balisigala bayala; balirya n’eby’oku kkono, naye tebalikkuta. Buli omu alirya ku mubiri gw’ezzadde lye.
And cutteth down on the right, and hath been hungry, And he devoureth on the left, And they have not been satisfied, Each the flesh of his own arm they devour.
21 Manase alirya Efulayimu ne Efulayimu n’alya Manase ate bombi ne balya Yuda. Naye wadde nga biri bityo, obusungu bwa Mukama buliba tebunnavaawo, era n’omukono gwe guliba gukyagoloddwa.
Manasseh — Ephraim, and Ephraim — Manasseh, Together they [are] against Judah, With all this not turned back hath His anger. And still His hand is stretched out!
