1 Mudde eri Mukama Katonda wammwe, ggwe Isirayiri. Ebibi byammwe bye bibaleetedde okugwa.
Return, Israel, to the Lord your God, for you have stumbled in your iniquity.
2 Mudde eri Mukama nga mwogera ebigambo bino nti, “Tusonyiwe ebibi byaffe byonna, otwanirize n’ekisa, bwe tutyo tunaawaayo ebibala by’akamwa kaffe, ng’ebiweebwayo eby’ente ennume.
Take words of repentance with you, and return to the Lord your God. Say to him: Wholly pardon our iniquity, accept that which is good, instead of sacrificing bulls, we offer our praise.
3 Obwasuli tebusobola kutulokola; Tetujja kwebagala mbalaasi ez’omu ntalo. Tetuliddayo kwogera nate nti, ‘Bakatonda baffe,’ nga twogera ku bintu bye twekoledde n’emikono gyaffe, kubanga mu ggwe, bamulekwa mwe bajja okusaasirwa.”
Assyria will not save us, nor Egyptian warhorses, and we will no more call the work of our hands our gods. For in you orphan Israel finds mercy.
4 Ndibalekesaayo empisa zaabwe embi, ne mbaagala awatali kye mbasalidde kya kusasula. Kubanga obusungu bwange butanudde okubavaako.
“I will heal their apostasy, I will love them freely, now that my anger is turned away from them,
5 Ndifaanana ng’omusulo eri Isirayiri: alimulisa ng’eddanga, era alisimba emirandira ng’emivule gy’e Lebanooni.
I will be as dew to Israel. He will blossom like the lily, he will plant his roots like the cedars of Lebanon,
6 Amatabi ge amato galikula; n’obulungi bwe buliba ng’omuzeyituuni, n’akaloosa ke kaliba ng’akaloosa k’omuvule gw’e Lebanooni.
his saplings will spread out, his beauty will be like that of the olive tree, his fragrance like the cedars of Lebanon.
7 Abantu balibeera nate wansi w’ekisiikirize kye, era alibala ng’emmere ey’empeke. Alimulisa ng’omuzabbibu, era alyatiikirira nga wayini ow’e Lebanooni.
People will return and dwell in my shade, they will bring life to new grain. They will sprout like the vine, and their renown will be like that of the wine of Lebanon.
8 Ggwe Efulayimu mugabo ki gwe nnina mu bakatonda bo? Ndimwanukula ne mulabirira. Nninga omuberosi omugimu, era n’ebibala byo biva mu nze.
Ephraim – what have I to do with idols! It is I the Lord who respond to him and look after him. I am like an evergreen cypress, from me is your fruit found.
9 Abalina amagezi bategeera ensonga zino, era abakabakaba balibimanya. Amakuba ga Mukama matuufu, n’abatuukirivu bagatambuliramu, naye abajeemu bageesittaliramu.
Whoever is wise, let him discern these things, prudent, let him perceive them; For the Lord’s ways are straight, and the righteous walk in them, but the wicked stumble in them.
