Abaebbulaniya 3
1 Kale abooluganda abatukuvu, Katonda b’ayise, mulowoozenga ku Yesu, Omutume Omukulu era Kabona Asinga Obukulu, gwe twatula.
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, attentively consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest whom we have confessed;
2 Yali mwesigwa eri oyo eyamulonda, era nga Musa bwe yali omwesigwa mu nnyumba ya Katonda yonna.
who, as well as Moses, is faithful to him that appointed him over all his house.
3 Kubanga ng’omuzimbi bw’aweebwa ekitiibwa okusinga ennyumba gy’azimbye, bw’atyo Yesu wa kitiibwa okusinga Musa.
Indeed, he has been accounted worthy of glory, as far superior to Moses, as that of the builder is superior to the house.
4 Kubanga buli nnyumba wabaawo agizimba, naye Katonda ye y’azimba buli kintu.
Now every house is built by some one; but he, the builder of all things, is God.
5 Musa yali muweereza mwesigwa mu nnyumba ya Katonda yonna, eyayogera eby’obunnabbi ku bintu ebyali bigenda okwogerwa mu biro eby’omu maaso.
And Moses, indeed, as a servant, was faithful in all his house, for a testimony of the things that were to be spoken by him;
6 Naye ate Kristo ye Mwana omwesigwa, akulira ennyumba ya Katonda; ate ffe tuli nnyumba y’oyo bwe tunywera ne tuba bavumu ne twenyumiririza mu ssuubi lye tunywezezza.
but Christ, as a Son, over his own house--whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence, and the rejoicing of our hope, unshaken to the end.
7 Noolwekyo nga Mwoyo Mutukuvu bw’agamba nti, “Leero bwe munaawulira eddoboozi lye,
Wherefore, as the Holy Spirit says, "To-day, if you will hear his voice,
8 temukakanyaza mitima gyammwe, nga bali bwe baajeema, ku lunaku lwe bagezesaako Katonda mu ddungu.
harden not your hearts, as in the bitter provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness;
9 Bajjajjammwe bangezesa, ne balaba bye nakola mu myaka amakumi ana.
where your fathers tempted me, and proved me, yet saw my works for forty years.
10 Kyennava nsunguwalira omulembe ogwo, ne njogera nti bulijjo baba bakyamu mu mitima gyabwe, era tebamanyi makubo gange.
Wherefore, I was displeased with that generation, and said, They always err in heart, and they have not known my ways.
11 Kyennava ndayira nga nsunguwadde nti, ‘Tebaliyingira mu kiwummulo kyange.’”
So, I swore, in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest."
12 Mwekuume abooluganda, omutima omubi ogw’obutakkiriza gulemenga kuba mu muntu yenna ku mmwe, ne gubaggya ku Katonda omulamu.
Brethren, take heed, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, by departing from the living God.
13 Mubuuliraganenga mwekka na mwekka bulijjo ng’ekiseera kikyaliwo, waleme okubaawo n’omu ku mmwe akakanyazibwa obulimba bw’ekibi.
But, lest any of you be hardened, through the deceitfulness of sin, exhort one another every day, while it is called To-day:
14 Olw’okubanga tussa kimu mu Kristo, tunywereze ddala obwesige bwaffe bwe twatandika nabwo, era tubunywereze ddala okutuusa ku nkomerero.
(for we are all partakers of Christ, if, indeed, we hold fast this first confidence firm to the end; )
15 Kyogerwako nti, “Leero bwe munaawulira eddoboozi lye temukakanyaza mitima gyammwe nga bwe mwakola bwe mwajeema.”
with this saying, "To-day, if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the bitter provocation."
16 Be baani abaawulira, naye ne bajeema? Si abo bonna abaava mu Misiri ne Musa?
For some, when they heard, did bitterly provoke; yet, not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
17 Era baani be yanyiigira okumala emyaka amakumi ana? Si abo abaayonoona ne bafiira mu ddungu?
Was it not with them who sinned, whose carcasses fell in the wilderness?
18 Era baani abo Katonda be yalayirira obutayingira mu kiwummulo kye? Si abo abataagonda?
And to whom did he swear, that they should not enter into his rest, but to them who did not believe?
19 Era tulaba nga baalemwa okuyingira olw’obutakkiriza bwabwe.
So, we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
