1 Bino bye bifa ku b’olulyo lwa Esawu, ye Edomu.
Nowe these are the generations of Esau, which is Edom.
2 Esawu yawasa abakazi ng’abaggya mu Bakanani: Yawasa Ada muwala wa Eroni Omukiiti, ne Okolibama muwala wa Ana mutabani wa Zibyoni Omukiivi,
Esau tooke his wiues of the daughters of Canaan: Adah the daughter of Elon an Hittite, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon an Hiuite,
3 ne Basimansi muwala wa Isimayiri muganda wa Nebayoosi.
And tooke Basemath Ishmaels daughter, sister of Nebaioth.
4 Ada n’azaalira Esawu Erifaazi, ne Basimansi n’azaala Leweri;
And Adah bare vnto Esau, Eliphaz: and Basemath bare Reuel.
5 ne Okolibama n’azaala Yewusi, ne Yalamu ne Koola; abo be batabani ba Esawu abaamuzaalirwa mu nsi ya Kanani.
Also Aholibamah bare Ieush, and Iaalam, and Korah: these are the sonnes of Esau which were borne to him in the land of Canaan.
6 Awo Esawu n’atwala bakazi be, ne batabani be, ne bawala be n’abantu be bonna, n’ente ze, awamu n’ebintu bye byonna bye yafuna mu nsi ya Kanani; n’agenda mu nsi ey’ewala ku ya muganda we Yakobo.
So Esau tooke his wiues and his sonnes, and his daughters, and all the soules of his house, and his flocks, and all his cattell, and all his substance, which he had gotten in the land of Canaan, and went into an other countrey from his brother Iaakob.
7 Kubanga obugagga bwabwe bwali bungi nnyo nga tebukyabasobozesa kubeera wamu n’ensi mwe baali ng’ebafundiridde olw’obungi bw’ebisolo byabwe.
For their riches were so great, that they could not dwell together, and the lande, wherein they were strangers, coulde not receiue them because of their flockes.
8 Olwo ye Esawu, era ye Edomu, n’abeera mu nsi ey’ensozi za Seyiri.
Therefore dwelt Esau in mount Seir: this Esau is Edom.
9 Bino bye bifa ku b’olulyo lwa Esawu, kitaawe w’Abaedomu abaamuzaalirwa ng’ali mu nsi y’ensozi za Seyiri.
So these are the generations of Esau father of Edom in mount Seir.
10 Batabani be baali: Erifaazi eyamuzaalirwa Ada, ne Leweri eyamuzaalirwa Basimansi.
These are the names of Esaus sonnes: Eliphaz, the sonne of Adah, the wife of Esau, and Reuel the sonne of Bashemath, the wife of Esau.
11 Batabani ba Erifaazi baali Temani, ne Omali, ne Zefo, ne Gatamu ne Kenazi.
And the sonnes of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.
12 Timuna yali mukazi wa Erifaazi, mutabani wa Esawu era yamuzaalira Ameleki. Abo be batabani ba Ada mukazi wa Esawu.
And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esaus sonne, and bare vnto Eliphaz, Amalek: these be the sonnes of Adah Esaus wife.
13 Bano be batabani ba Leweri: Nakasi, ne Zeera, ne Saama ne Mizza. Abo be bazzukulu ba Esawu ne mukazi we Basemasi.
And these are the sonnes of Reuel: Nahath, and Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah: these were the sonnes of Bashemath Esaus wife.
14 N’abaana ba Okolibama muwala wa Ana, muzzukulu wa Zibyoni, baali Yewusi, ne Yalamu ne Koola, be yazaalira bba Esawu.
And these were the sonnes of Aholibamah the daughter of Anah, daughter of Zibeon Esaus wife: for she bare vnto Esau, Ieush, and Iaalam, and Korah.
15 Bano be bakulu b’enda ya Esawu: Enda ya Erifaazi omubereberye wa Esawu: Temani, ne Omali, ne Zefo, ne Kenazi,
These were Dukes of the sonnes of Esau: the sonnes of Eliphaz, the first borne of Esau: Duke Teman, Duke Omar, Duke Zepho, Duke Kenaz,
16 ne Koola, ne Gatamu ne Amaleki abaali mu nsi ya Edomu be batabani ba Ada.
Duke Korah, Duke Gatam, Duke Amalek: these are the Dukes that came of Eliphaz in the land of Edom: these were the sonnes of Adah.
17 Enda ya Leweri mutabani wa Esawu: Nakasi, ne Zeera, ne Samma ne Mizza nabo baali mu nsi ya Edomu, era baava mu Basimansi, mukazi wa Esawu.
And these are the sonnes of Reuel Esaus sonne: Duke Nahath, Duke Zerah, Duke Shammah, Duke Mizzah: these are the Dukes that came of Reuel in the land of Edom: these are the sonnes of Bashemath Esaus wife.
18 Abaazaalibwa Okolibama mukazi wa Esawu, muwala wa Ana: Yewusi, ne Yalamu ne Koola.
Likewise these were the sonnes of Aholibamah Esaus wife: Duke Ieush, Duke Iaalam, Duke Korah: these Dukes came of Aholibamah, the daughter of Anah Esaus wife.
19 Abo bonna be baava mu Esawu, ye Edomu, era be bakulu b’enda zaabwe.
These are the children of Esau, and these are the Dukes of them: This Esau is Edom.
20 Batabani ba Seyiri Omukooli abaabeeranga mu Edomu be ba Lotani, ne Sobali, ne Zibyoni, ne Ana,
These are the sonnes of Seir the Horite, which inhabited the lande before, Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah.
21 ne Disoni, ne Ezeri ne Disani. Abo be baava mu Bakooli, be baana ba Seyiri abaali mu nsi ya Edomu.
And Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan: these are the Dukes of the Horites, the sonnes of Seir in the land of Edom.
22 Batabani ba Lotani baali Kooli, ne Kemamu, era Lotani yalina mwannyina nga ye Timuna.
And the sonnes of Lotan were, Hori and Hemam, and Lotans sister was Timna.
23 Batabani ba Sobali be ba Aluvani, ne Manakasi, ne Eberi, ne Sefo ne Onamu.
And the sonnes of Shobal were these: Aluan, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
24 Aba Zibyoni, be ba Aya ne Ana; ono ye Ana eyavumbula ensulo z’amazzi agookya, ezaali mu ddungu; bwe yali ng’alunda endogoyi za kitaawe Zibyoni.
And these are the sonnes of Zibeon: Both Aiah, and Anah: this was Anah that founde mules in the wildernesse, as he fedde his father Zibeons asses.
25 Abaana ba Ana be ba Disoni ne Okolibama omuwala.
And the children of Anah were these: Dishon and Aholibamah, the daughter of Anah.
26 Bo batabani ba Disoni be ba Kemudaani, ne Esubani, ne Isulani ne Kerani.
Also these are the sonnes of Dishan: Hemdan, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.
27 Aba Ezeri be ba Birani, ne Zaavani ne Akani.
The sonnes of Ezer are these: Bilhan, and Zaauan, and Akan.
28 Ate aba Disani be ba Uzi ne Alani.
The sonnes of Dishan are these: Vz, and Aran.
29 Bano be bakulu b’enda za Bakooli: Lotani, ne Sobali, ne Zibyoni, ne Ana,
These are the Dukes of the Horites: Duke Lotan, Duke Shobal, Duke Zibeon, Duke Anah,
30 ne Disoni, ne Ezeri ne Disani. Bano be bakulu b’enda za Bakooli ng’ebika byabwe bwe byali, mu nsi ya Seyiri.
Duke Dishon, Duke Ezer, Duke Dishan: these bee the Dukes of the Horites, after their Dukedomes in the land of Seir.
31 Bakabaka abafuga ensi ya Edomu, nga tewannaba na kabaka afuga Isirayiri be bano:
And these are the Kings that reigned in the lande of Edom, before there reigned any King ouer the children of Israel.
32 Bera mutabani wa Byori yafuga Edomu ng’asinziira mu kibuga kye Dinukaba.
Then Bela the sonne of Beor reigned in Edom, and the name of his citie was Dinhabah.
33 Bera bwe yafa Yobabu mutabani wa Zeera ow’e Bozula n’afuga mu kifo kye.
And when Bela dyed, Iobab the sonne of Zerah of Bozra reigned in his steade.
34 Yobabu bwe yafa Kusamu Omutemani n’afuga mu kifo kye.
When Iobab also was dead, Husham of the land of Temani reigned in his steade.
35 Ne Kusamu bwe yafa, Kadadi mutabani wa Bedadi, eyawangula Midiyaani, mu nsi ya Mowaabu n’afuga mu kifo kye; ng’afugira mu kibuga ky’e Avisi.
And after the death of Husham, Hadad the sonne of Bedad, which slewe Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his steade, and the name of his citie was Auith.
36 Ate Kadadi bwe yafa, Samula ow’e Masuleka n’afuga mu kifo kye.
When Hadad was dead, then Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his steade.
37 Samula bwe yafa Sawuli ow’e Lekobosi, ku mugga Fulaati n’afuga mu kifo kye.
When Samlah was dead, Shaul of Rehoboth by the riuer, reigned in his steade.
38 Sawuli bwe yafa, Baalukanani mutabani wa Akubooli n’afuga mu kifo kye.
When Shaul dyed, Baal-hanan the sonne of Achbor reigned in his steade.
39 Ate Balukanani mutabani wa Akubooli bwe yafa, Kadali n’afuga mu kifo kye, ng’ali mu kibuga kye Pawu; mukazi we yayitibwanga Meketaberu muwala wa Mezakabu ne Matirida.
And after the death of Baal-hanan the sonne of Achbor, Hadad reigned in his stead, and the name of his citie was Pau: and his wiues name Mehetabel the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.
40 Bano be bakulu b’enda zaabo abaava mu Esawu, nga bwe baali mu bifo byabwe: Timuna, ne Aluva, ne Yesesi,
Then these are the names of the Dukes of Esau according to their families, their places and by their names: Duke Timna, Duke Aluah, Duke Ietheth,
41 ne Okolibama, ne Era, ne Pinoni,
Duke Aholibamah, Duke Elah, Duke Pinon,
42 ne Kenazi, ne Temani, ne Mibuza,
Duke Kenaz, Duke Teman, Duke Mibzar,
43 ne Magidiyeri, ne Iramu. Abo be bakulu b’enda ya Edomu, ye Esawu kitaawe wa Edomu, okusinziira mu bifo mwe baali mu nsi y’obutaka bwabwe.
Duke Magdiel, Duke Iram: these bee the Dukes of Edom, according to their habitations, in the lande of their inheritance. This Esau is the father of Edom.
