Olubereberye 10
1 Bano be bazzukulu ba Nuuwa, Seemu ne Kaamu, ne Yafeesi be baazaala oluvannyuma lw’amataba.
And these [are] the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and sons are born to them after the flood.
2 Batabani ba Yafeesi: Gomeri, ne Magogi, ne Madayi, ne Yivani, ne Tubali ne Meseki ne Tirasi.
Sons of Japheth [are] Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
3 Batabani ba Gomeri be bano: Asukenaazi, ne Lifasi, ne Togaluma.
And sons of Gomer [are] Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
4 Batabani ba Yivani baali: Erisa, ne Talusiisi, ne Kittimu ne Dodanimu.
And sons of Javan [are] Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
5 (Mu bano mwe mwava abo abaabuna olubalama lw’ennyanja. Bano be batabani ba Yafeesi mu bitundu byabwe, buli bamu mu nnimi zaabwe ng’ennyumba zaabwe n’amawanga gaabwe bwe biri.)
By these the islands of the nations have been parted in their lands, each by his tongue, by their families, in their nations.
6 Batabani ba Kaamu be bano: Kuusi, ne Misiri, ne Puuti, ne Kanani.
And sons of Ham [are] Cush, and Mitzraim, and Phut, and Canaan.
7 Batabani ba Kuusi be bano: Seeba, ne Kavira, ne Sabuta, ne Laama ne Sebuteka. Batabani ba Laama baali: Seeba ne Dedani.
And sons of Cush [are] Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtechah; and sons of Raamah [are] Sheba and Dedan.
8 Kuusi ye yazaala Nimuloodi; ye yasooka okuba omuntu ow’amaanyi ennyo ku nsi.
And Cush has begotten Nimrod;
9 Yali muyizzi kkungwa, mu maaso ga Mukama, kyekyava kigambibwa nti, “Afaanana Nimuloodi omuyizzi kkungwa mu maaso ga Mukama.”
he has begun to be a hero in the land; he has been a hero in hunting before YHWH; therefore it is said, “As Nimrod the hero [in] hunting before YHWH.”
10 Obwakabaka bwe bwatandikira Baberi, ne Eneki ne Akudi ne Kalune, nga byonna bya mu nsi Sinali.
And the first part of his kingdom is Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar;
11 Bwe yava mu nsi eyo n’agenda mu Bwasuli, n’azimba Nineeve, ne Lekobosiyira, ne Kala ne
from that land he has gone out to Asshur, and builds Nineveh, even the broad places of the city, and Calah,
12 Leseni, wakati wa Nineeve ne Kala; Leseni kye kyali ekibuga ekikulu.
and Resen, between Nineveh and Calah; it [is] the great city.
13 Mizulayimu oba Misiri ye kitaawe wa Ludimu, ne Anamimu, ne Lekabimu, ne Nafutukimu,
And Mitzraim has begotten the Ludim, and the Anamim, and the Lehabim, and the Naphtuhim,
14 ne Pasulusimu, ne Kasulukimu (omwava Abafirisuuti) ne Kafutorimu.
and the Pathrusim, and the Casluhim (from where have come out Philistim), and the Caphtorim.
15 Kanani ye yazaala Sidoni, omwana we omubereberye, ne Keesi,
And Canaan has begotten Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,
16 n’Abayebusi, n’Abamoli, n’Abagirugaasi,
and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,
17 n’Abakiivi, n’Abaluki, n’Abasiini,
and the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,
18 n’Abaluvada, n’Abazemali, n’Abakamasi n’ebika eby’omu Kanani ne babuna wonna.
and the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite; and afterward the families of the Canaanite have been scattered.
19 Ekitundu kya Kanani kyava ku Sidoni, okwolekera Gerali n’okutuukira ddala e Gaza okwolekera Sodomu, ne Ggomola, ne Aduma, ne Zeboyimu okutuukira ddala e Lasa.
And the border of the Canaanite is from Sidon, [in] your coming toward Gerar, to Gaza; [in] your coming toward Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, to Lasha.
20 Abo be bazzukulu ba Kaamu, mu nda zaabwe ne nnimi zaabwe, mu bitundu byabwe ne mu mawanga gaabwe.
These [are] sons of Ham, by their families, by their tongues, in their lands, in their nations.
21 Seemu kitaawe w’abo bonna abaava mu Eberi, mukulu wa Yafeesi naye yazaalirwa abaana.
As for Shem, father of all sons of Eber, the older brother of Japheth, he has also begotten.
22 Abaana ba Seemu be bano: Eramu, ne Asuli, ne Alupakusaadi, ne Ludi ne Alamu.
Sons of Shem [are] Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.
23 Batabani ba Alamu: Uzi, ne Kuuli, ne Ggeseri ne Masi.
And sons of Aram [are] Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.
24 Alupakusaadi ye kitaawe wa Seera. Seera ye kitaawe wa Eberi.
And Arphaxad has begotten Salah, and Salah has begotten Eber.
25 Omu ku batabani ba Eberi yali Peregi, kubanga we yazaalirwa ensi yali yeesazeemu, muganda we ye yali Yokutaani.
And two sons have been born to Eber; the name of the first [is] Peleg (for in his days the earth has been divided), and his brother’s name [is] Joktan.
26 Yokutaani ye yali kitaawe wa Alumodaadi, ne Serefu, ne Kazalumaveesi, ne Yera,
And Joktan has begotten Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,
27 ne Kadolaamu, ne Uzali, ne Dikula,
and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,
28 ne Obali, ne Abimayeeri, ne Seeba,
and Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,
29 ne Ofiri, ne Kavira ne Yobabu; bano bonna baali batabani ba Yokutaani.
and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab; all these [are] sons of Joktan;
30 Ekitundu mwe baali kyava ku Mesa okwolekera Serali, okutuukira ddala ku kitundu eky’ensozi ku luuyi olw’ebuvanjuba.
and their dwelling is from Mesha, [in] your coming toward Sephar, a mountain of the east.
31 Abo be bazzukulu ba Seemu, mu nnyumba zaabwe, ne mu nnimi zaabwe, ne mu bitundu byabwe ne mu mawanga gaabwe.
These [are] sons of Shem, by their families, by their tongues, in their lands, by their nations.
32 Abo ze nnyumba za batabani ba Nuuwa ng’okuzaalibwa kwabwe bwe kwali, n’amawanga gaabwe; era okuva mu bano amawanga gonna mwe gaayalira ne gabuna ensi yonna oluvannyuma lw’amataba.
These [are] families of the sons of Noah, by their generations, in their nations, and by these the nations have been parted in the earth after the flood.
