1 Yesero, kabona w’e Midiyaani, era kitaawe wa mukyala wa Musa, n’awulira byonna Katonda bye yakolera Musa n’abantu be, Abayisirayiri; era nga Mukama yaggya Isirayiri mu Misiri.
And whanne Jetro, the prest of Madian, `the alye of Moises, hadde herd alle thingis which God hadde do to Moises, and to Israel his puple, for the Lord hadde led Israel out of the lond of Egipt,
2 Ye yalabiriranga Zipola, mukyala wa Musa; kubanga Musa yali amuzzizza ewaabwe ng’amumulekedde,
he took Sefora, `the wijf of Moises, whom he hadde sent ayen,
3 ne batabani be babiri. Mutabani we omu yamutuuma Gerusomu, kubanga Musa yagamba nti, “Mbadde mugwira mu nsi etali yange;”

4 n’erinnya ly’omulala lyali Eryeza, kubanga yagamba nti, “Katonda wa kitange ye yali omubeezi wange, era n’amponya ekitala kya Falaawo.”

5 Yesero, mukoddomi wa Musa, n’ajja ne batabani ba Musa ne mukyala we eri Musa mu ddungu, we yali asiisidde okuliraana olusozi lwa Katonda.
Therfor Jetro, `alie of Moises, cam, and the sones of Moises and his wijf camen to Moises, in to deseert, where Jetro settide tentis bisidis the hil of God;
6 Yesero yali amutumidde nti, “Nze Yesero mukoddomi wo, nzija okukulabako. Ndi ne mukyala wo ne batabani be bombi.”
and sente to Moises, and seide, Y Jetro, thin alie, come to thee, and thi wijf, and thi twei sones with hir.
7 Awo Musa n’afuluma n’agenda okwaniriza mukoddomi we; n’akutamako ng’amulamusa, n’amugwa mu kifuba. Ne balamusaganya, n’oluvannyuma ne bayingira mu weema.
And Moises yede out into the comyng of his alie, and worschipide, and kiste hym, and thei gretten hem silf to gidere with pesible wordis.
8 Musa n’anyumiza mukoddomi we ebyo byonna Mukama bye yakola Falaawo n’Abamisiri ng’abalanga Isirayiri; n’ebizibu ebyabatuukako mu lugendo lwabe, ne Mukama nga bwe yabibawonya.
And whanne he hadde entrid in to the tabernacle, Moises tolde to `his alie alle thingis whiche God hadde do to Farao, and to Egipcians, for Israel, and he tolde al the trauel which bifelle to hem in the weie, of which the Lord delyuerede hem.
9 Yesero n’asanyuka nnyo okuwulira ebirungi ebyo byonna Mukama bye yakolera Isirayiri, ng’abanunula ku Bamisiri.
And Jetro was glad on alle the goodis whiche the Lord hadde do to Israel, for he delyuerede Israel fro the hond of Egipcians.
10 Yesero n’agamba nti, “Mukama atenderezebwe eyabanunula mu mikono gy’Abamisiri ne mu mukono gwa Falaawo, n’aggya abantu be mu mikono gy’Abamisiri.
And Jetro seide, Blessid be `the Lord, that delyuerede you fro the hond of Egipcians, and fro `the hond of Farao, which Lord delyuered his puple fro the hond of Egipt;
11 Kaakano ntegedde nga Mukama mukulu wa kitiibwa okukira bakatonda bonna, kubanga yanunula abantu be mu mikono gyabo abaali babeeragirako.”
now Y knowe that the Lord is greet aboue alle goddis, for `thei diden proudli ayens hem.
12 Awo Yesero, mukoddomi wa Musa, n’awaayo eri Katonda ekiweebwayo ekyokye ne ssaddaaka endala; Alooni n’abakulembeze ba Isirayiri bonna ne balya ne mukoddomi wa Musa emmere mu maaso ga Katonda.
Therfor Jetro, `alie of Moises, offride brent sacrifices and offryngis to God; and Aaron, and alle the eldere men of Israel, camen to ete breed with hym bifore God.
13 Awo bwe bwakya enkya, Musa n’atuula ku ntebe ye okulamula abantu. Abantu ne bamwetooloola okuva enkya okutuusa akawungeezi.
Forsothe in the tother dai Moises sat that he schulde deme the puple, that stood niy Moises, fro the morewtid til to euentid.
14 Mukoddomi we bwe yalaba Musa bye yali akolera abantu, n’amugamba nti, “Kiki kino ky’okola? Lwaki olamula bw’omu, abantu bano bonna ne bayimirira okukwetooloola okuva ku nkya okutuusa akawungeezi?”
And whanne `his alie hadde seyn this, that is, alle thingis `whiche he dide in the puple, he seide, What is this that thou doist in the puple? whi sittist thou aloone, and al the puple abidith fro the morewtid til to euentid?
15 Musa n’addamu mukoddomi we nti, “Kubanga abantu bajja gye ndi bategeere Katonda by’ayagala.
To whom Moises answeride, The puple cometh to me, and axith the sentence of God;
16 Buli lwe babeera n’obutakkiriziganya, bajja gye ndi, ne mbasalirawo, era ne mbategeeza amateeka ga Katonda n’ebiragiro bye.”
and whanne ony strijf bifallith to hem, thei comen to me, that Y deme bitwixe hem, and schewe `the comaundementis of God, and hise lawis.
17 Mukoddomi wa Musa n’amugamba nti, “Ky’okola si kirungi.
And Jetro seide, Thou doist a thing not good,
18 Ggwe, n’abantu bano bonna abajja gy’oli, mujja kukoowa nnyo. Kubanga omulimu guno munene nnyo; tosobola kugukola bw’omu.
thou art wastid with a fonned trauel, bothe thou and this puple which is with thee; the werk is a boue thi strengthis, thou aloone maist not suffre it.
19 Nkusaba ompulirize nkusalire ku magezi, ne Katonda ng’ali naawe. Osaana obeere omubaka w’abantu ewa Katonda, era omutuusengako ensonga zaabwe.
But here thou my wordis and counseils, and the Lord schal be with thee; be thou to the puple in these thingis that perteynen to God, that thou telle the thingis that ben seid to the puple;
20 Bayigirize amateeka n’ebiragiro, era obalage nga bwe basaana okweyisanga, awamu n’emirimu gye basaanidde okukola.
and schewe to the puple the cerymonyes, and custom of worschipyng, and the weie bi which `thei owen to go, and the werk which `thei owen to do.
21 Londayo abasajja abalina ebisaanyizo, ng’obaggya mu bantu bonna, abasajja abatya Katonda, ab’amazima era abatalya nguzi; obawe obukulembeze, ng’abamu bavunaanyizibwa abantu enkumi, n’abalala abantu ebikumi, n’abamu ebibiina eby’ataano n’abalala eby’ekkumi kkumi.
Forsothe puruey thou of al the puple myyti men, and dredynge God, in whiche is treuthe, and whiche haten auarice; and ordeyne thou of hem tribunes, and centuriouns, and quinquagenaries, and deenys,
22 Bawe obuyinza okulamulanga abantu ebbanga lyonna, naye ng’emisango emizibu bagikuleetera, emisango emyangu bo bagisalenga. Ekyo kinaawewulanga ku buzito bw’omugugu gwo, kubanga banaabanga bagukukwatirako.
whiche schulen deme the puple in al tyme; sotheli what ever thing is grettere, telle thei to thee, and deme thei ooneli lesse thingis, and be it esiere to thee, whanne the burthun is departid in to othere men.
23 Singa okola bw’otyo, nga ne Katonda bw’akulagidde, ojja kusobola okugumira emirimu egyo, era n’abantu bano bonna balyoke baddeyo ewaabwe nga basanyuse.”
If thou schalt do this, thou schalt fille the comaundement of God, and thou schalt mowe bere hise comaundementis; and al this puple schal turne ayen with pees to her places.
24 Musa bw’atyo n’awuliriza amagezi gonna mukoddomi we ge yamuwa, n’akolera ku ebyo byonna bye yamubuulirira.
And whanne these thingis weren herd, Moises dide alle thingis whiche Jetro counselide.
25 Musa n’alonda mu Isirayiri yonna abasajja abasobola, n’abafuula abakulembeze b’abantu; nga bavunaanyizibwa enkumi, n’abalala ebikumi, n’abamu amakumi ataano ataano, n’abalala kkumi kkumi.
And whanne noble men of al Israel weren chosun Moises ordeynede hem princis of the puple, tribunes, and centuriouns, and quinquagenaries, and denes,
26 Ne balamula abantu ebbanga lyonna. Emisango emizibu nga bagireetera Musa, naye emyangu nga bagisala.
whiche demeden the puple in al tyme; forsothe, whateuer thing was hardere, thei telden to Moises, and thei demeden esiere thingis oneli.
27 Awo Musa n’asiibula mukoddomi we, mukoddomi we n’akwata ekkubo ne yeddirayo mu nsi y’ewaabwe.
And Moises lefte `his alie, which turnede ayen, and yede in to his lond.
