1 Kabaka Akaswero n’asalira abantu bonna ab’obwakabaka bwe omusolo, abaabeeranga ku lukalu n’abo abaabeeranga ku bizinga.

Truly, king Artaxerxes made all the land, and all the islands of the sea, tributaries.

2 Era ebikolwa bye byonna eby’obuyinza n’amaanyi ge, n’okutegeereza ddala obukulu bwa Moluddekaayi, Kabaka bwe yamukuza, byawandiikibwa mu kitabo eky’ebyomumirembe gya bassekabaka b’e Bumeedi n’e Buperusi.

And his strength and his authority, and the dignity and supremacy with which he exalted Mordecai, have been written in the books of the Medes and the Persians,

3 Moluddekaayi Omuyudaaya ye yali addirira Kabaka Akaswero mu buyinza, era yali mukulu mu Bayudaaya ate nga bamussaamu nnyo ekitiibwa, kubanga yakolanga bulungi abantu be, ate era ng’ayagaliza ezzadde lye lyonna emirembe.

and how Mordecai of Jewish birth, was second after king Artaxerxes, and great among the Jews, and acceptable to the people of his brethren, seeking the good of his people, and speaking about things which pertained to peace for their descendants.
