< Abaefeso 5 >
1 Mufubenga okufaanana Katonda kubanga muli baana ba Katonda abaagalwa.
Therefore be imitators of God as beloved children,
2 Mwagalanenga nga Kristo bwe yatwagala ne yeewaayo ku lwaffe n’afuuka ekiweebwayo era ssaddaaka eri Katonda, eyakawoowo akalungi.
and walk in love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a fragrant aroma.
3 Nga bwe muli abantu ba Katonda abatukuvu, obwenzi, n’obugwagwa bwonna, n’omululu bireme okuwulirwa mu mmwe.
But, you should not even talk about fornication or any form of moral corruption or insatiableness (as is fitting for saints);
4 Mwewale okwogera eby’ensonyi, n’eby’obusirusiru, n’okubalaata ebitasaana. Mwebazenga bwebaza Katonda.
nor any obscenity, nor foolish talk or coarse joking (that do not belong), but rather thanksgiving.
5 Mukimanye era mukitegeerere ddala nga buli mwenzi, oba omugwagwa, oba eyeegomba, aba asinza bakatonda abalala, talina mugabo mu bwakabaka bwa Kristo ne Katonda.
Because you can know this for sure: no fornicator, nor anyone who is morally corrupt or insatiable (actually an idolater), has any inheritance in the Kingdom of the Christ and God.
6 Omuntu yenna tabalimbalimbanga n’ebigambo ebitaliimu. Katonda abonereza buli muntu yenna amujeemera.
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of the disobedience.
7 Noolwekyo temwegattanga n’abafaanana ng’abo.
Therefore do not be participants with them
8 Edda mwali ng’abantu ab’ekizikiza, naye kaakano muli bantu ba musana mu Mukama waffe. Noolwekyo mutambulenga ng’abaana ab’omusana,
—even though you were once darkness, you are now light in Sovereign. Walk as children of light
9 ekitangaala kyammwe kirabisibwe. Mubale ebibala eby’omusana nga mweyisa bulungi, nga mubeera abeesimbu era ab’amazima,
(for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth),
10 nga munoonya ekyo ekisanyusa Mukama waffe.
approving what is pleasing to the Lord.
11 Temwenyigiranga mu bikolwa bya kizikiza kubanga tebigasa, wabula munenyenga ababikola.
Do not associate with the unfruitful works of the darkness, but rather expose/reprove them.
12 Kubanga kya nsonyi n’okubyogerako ebyo abajeemu bye bakolera mu kyama.
(It is shameful even to speak of those things being done by them in secret.)
13 Byonna bwe biryatuukirizibwa mu kitangaala, birirabikira ddala nga bwe biri.
Now all things, upon being exposed, are revealed by the light, for whatever reveals is light.
14 Ekitangaala kirabisa buli kintu. Kyekiva kigambibwa nti, “Zuukuka ggwe eyeebase, Ozuukire mu bafu, Kristo anaakwakira.”
Therefore He says: “Wake up, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and the Christ will shine on you.”
15 Mutunule nga mutambula n’obwegendereza, si ng’abatalina magezi wabula ng’abalina amagezi,
See then that you walk carefully, not as unwise but as wise,
16 nga temwonoona biseera kubanga ennaku zino mbi.
redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Temubanga basirusiru, naye mutegeere Mukama waffe ky’ayagala.
That is why you must not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is.
18 Ate temutamiiranga, kubanga mujja kweyonoona, wabula Omwoyo ajjulenga mu bulamu bwammwe.
And do not get drunk on wine, which is harmful and wasteful; rather be filled with the Spirit,
19 Bwe mukuŋŋananga muzimbaganenga mu Zabbuli ne mu nnyimba, ne mu nnyimba ez’Omwoyo nga muyimbira Mukama era nga mumuyimusiza amaloboozi mu mutima gwammwe.
speaking to one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making music in your hearts to the Lord;
20 Bulijjo mwebazenga Katonda Kitaffe olwa byonna, mu linnya lya Mukama waffe Yesu Kristo.
always giving thanks to God the Father concerning all things, in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ,
21 Mutyenga Kristo, nga muwuliragananga.
submitting to one another in the fear of God.
22 Abakazi, muwulirenga babbammwe nga bwe muwulira Mukama waffe.
Wives, subordinate yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord,
23 Omusajja gwe mutwe gw’omukazi, nga Kristo bw’ali omutwe gw’Ekkanisa. Ekkanisa gwe mubiri gwa Kristo, era ye yennyini ye Mulokozi waagwo.
because a man is head of his wife as also Christ is Head of the Church—He also is Preserver of the body.
24 Kale ng’Ekkanisa bw’ewulira Kristo, n’abakazi bwe batyo bwe basaana okuwuliranga ba bbaabwe mu byonna.
Yes, just as the Church is subject to Christ, so also the wives should be to their own husbands in everything.
25 Nammwe abaami mwagalenga bakyala bammwe nga Kristo bwe yayagala Ekkanisa ne yeewaayo ku lwayo.
Husbands, love your own wives just as Christ also loved the Church and gave Himself up on her behalf,
26 Yaginaaza n’amazzi, n’agitukuza n’ekigambo kye,
in order that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of the water: in a word,
27 alyoke yeefunire Ekkanisa ey’ekitiibwa, eteriiko bbala wadde akamogo oba ekintu kyonna ekikyamu, wabula ebeere entukuvu, etuukiridde.
that He might present her—the splendid Church—to Himself, not having a blemish or a wrinkle or any such thing, but that she be holy and blameless.
28 N’abasajja bwe batyo bwe basaana okwagalanga bakazi baabwe, nga bwe baagala emibiri gyabwe gyennyini. Ayagala mukazi we yeeyagala yekka.
Just so the husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.
29 Tewali n’omu yali akyaye omubiri gwe, wabula aguliisa era agujjanjaba nga Kristo bw’ajjanjaba Ekkanisa ye,
After all, no one ever hated his own flesh; rather he nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the Church
30 kubanga tuli bitundu bya mubiri gwe.
—for we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.
31 “Kale omusajja kyanaavanga aleka kitaawe ne nnyina ne yeegatta ne mukazi we, ne bafuuka omuntu omu.”
“For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”
32 Ekyama kino kikulu, kyokka nze ndowooza nti kyogera ku Kristo n’Ekkanisa ye.
This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the Church.
33 Kale, nammwe buli musajja ayagalenga mukazi we nga bwe yeeyagala yennyini, era n’omukazi assengamu bba ekitiibwa.
In any case, each of you individually: let each one love his own wife as himself, while the wife must respect her husband.
