“And this [is] the command, the statutes and the judgments which your God YHWH has commanded to teach you to do in the land which you are passing over there to possess it,
2 Bw’otyo ggwe n’abaana bo, n’abaana b’abaana bo oluvannyuma lwabwe, olyoke otyenga Mukama Katonda wo ennaku zonna ez’obulamu bwo, ng’ogondera amateeka ge n’ebiragiro bye, bye nkuwa leero; olyoke owangaalenga.
so that you fear your God YHWH, to keep all His statutes and His commands which I am commanding you, you, and your son, and your son’s son, all [the] days of your life, and so that your days are prolonged.
3 Noolwekyo, wulira, Ayi Isirayiri, ogonderenga ebiragiro ebyo n’obwegendereza, ebintu byonna bikugenderenga bulungi, mulyoke muzaale mwalenga nnyo, mu nsi ekulukuta n’amata n’omubisi gw’enjuki, nga Mukama Katonda wa bajjajjaabo bwe yakusuubiza.
And you have heard, O Israel, and observed to do [them], that it may be well with you, and that you may multiply exceedingly, as YHWH, God of your fathers, has spoken to you, [in] the land flowing with milk and honey.
4 “Wulira, Ayi Isirayiri: Mukama Katonda waffe ali omu.
Hear, O Israel: Our God YHWH—YHWH [is] one!
5 Oyagalanga Mukama Katonda wo n’omutima gwo gwonna, n’omwoyo gwo gwonna, n’amaanyi go gonna.
And you have loved your God YHWH with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.

And these words which I am commanding you today have been on your heart,
7 Ogayigirizanga abaana bo n’obwegendereza. Ogoogerengako bw’onoobanga otudde mu maka go, ne bw’onoobanga otambula mu kkubo, bw’onoobanga ogalamiddeko, ne bw’onoobanga ogolokose.
and you have repeated them to your sons, and spoken of them in your sitting in your house, and in your walking in the way, and in your lying down, and in your rising up,
8 Onoogasibanga ku mikono gyo, nga bwe bubonero obw’okukujjukizanga, era ogatekanga ne ku kyenyi kyo.
and have bound them for a sign on your hand, and they have been for frontlets between your eyes,
9 Onoogawandiikanga ku myango gy’ennyumba yo, era ne ku nzigi zo.
and you have written them on doorposts of your house and on your gates.
10 “Mukama Katonda wammwe bw’alimala okukutuusa mu nsi gye yalayirira bajjajjaabo: Ibulayimu, ne Isaaka, ne Yakobo okugibawa, nga mulimu ebibuga ebinene ebikulaakulana, by’otaazimba,
And it has been, when your God YHWH brings you into the land which He has sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to you great and good cities which you have not built,
11 n’amayumba agajjudde buli kintu kyonna ekirungi, ky’otaateekamu, n’enzizi z’otaasima, n’ennimiro z’emizabbibu n’emizeeyituuni z’otaasimba; kale, bw’onoomalanga okulya n’okkuta,
and houses full of all good things which you have not filled, and wells dug which you have not dug, vineyards and olive-yards which you have not planted, that you have eaten and been satisfied.
12 weekuumenga olemenga okwerabira Mukama eyakuggya mu nsi ey’e Misiri eyali ey’obuddu.
Take heed to yourself lest you forget YHWH who has brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of a house of servants.
13 “Otyanga Mukama Katonda wo. Ye gw’obanga oweereza yekka, era mu linnya lye lyokka mw’obanga olayiriranga.
You fear your God YHWH, and you serve Him, and you swear by His Name.
14 Temuweerezanga bakatonda balala, bakatonda b’amawanga aganaabanga gabeetoolodde;
You do not go after other gods, of the gods of the peoples who [are] around you,
15 kubanga Mukama Katonda wo, ali wakati mu mmwe, Katonda wa buggya; obusungu bwe bugenda kukubuubuukirangako, akuzikirize, akumalewo ku nsi.
for your God YHWH [is] a zealous God in your midst—lest the anger of your God YHWH burns against you, and He has destroyed you from off the face of the ground.
16 Temugezesanga Mukama Katonda wammwe, nga bwe mwakola nga muli e Masa.
You do not try your God YHWH as you tried [Him] in Massah.
17 Munyiikirenga okukuumanga n’okugonderanga amateeka n’ebiragiro Mukama Katonda wammwe by’akuwadde.
You diligently keep the commands of your God YHWH, and His testimonies and His statutes which He has commanded you,
18 Okolanga ebyo Mukama by’akkiriza ebituufu era ebirungi; olwo olyoke obe bulungi ng’oyingidde mu nsi eyo ennungi Mukama gye yalayirira bajjajjaabo okugibawa,
and you have done that which is right and good in the eyes of YHWH, so that it is well with you, and you have gone in and possessed the good land which YHWH has sworn to your fathers,
19 ng’agobyemu abalabe bo bonna, nga Mukama Katonda bwe yasuubiza.
to drive away all your enemies from your presence, as YHWH has spoken.
20 “Mu biseera ebirijja, omwana wo bw’akubuuzanga nti, Ebyo byonna ebinnyonnyola buli kalonda, n’amateeka, n’ebiragiro Mukama Katonda waffe bye yabalagira, bitegeeza ki?
When your son asks you hereafter, saying, What [are] the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments which our God YHWH has commanded you?
21 Omuddangamu nti, ‘Twali baddu ba Falaawo mu nsi ey’e Misiri, naye Mukama Katonda n’atuggya mu Misiri n’omukono gwe ogw’amaanyi.
Then you have said to your son, We have been servants of Pharaoh in Egypt, and YHWH brings us out of Egypt by a high hand;
22 Mukama Katonda n’alaga obubonero obw’ekitalo, n’akola ebyamagero ebinene era ebitatendeka ku Misiri ne ku Falaawo n’ab’omu maka ge bonna, nga naffe tulaba.
and YHWH gives signs and wonders, great and severe, on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on all his house, before our eyes;
23 N’atuggyayo n’atuyingiza muno alyoke atuwe ensi eno gye yalayirira bajjajjaffe okugibawa.
and He has brought us out from there, in order to bring us in, to give to us the land which He had sworn to our fathers.
24 Mukama n’atulagira okukwatanga amateeka gano gonna n’okugagonderanga, n’okutyanga Mukama Katonda waffe ennaku zonna, alyoke atukuumenga nga tuli mu mbeera ennungi, era nga tuli balamu, nga bwe tuli leero.
And YHWH commands us to do all these statutes, to fear our God YHWH, for good to ourselves [for] all the days, to keep us alive, as [at] this day;
25 Era singa tuneegenderezanga ne tukwata amateeka gano gonna ne tugagonderanga, mu maaso ga Mukama Katonda waffe, nga bwe yatulagira, tunaabanga tutuukirizza ebyo by’ayagala.’”
and it is righteousness for us when we observe to do all this command before our God YHWH, as He has commanded us.”
