< Ebikolwa by’Abatume 9 >
1 Mu kiseera ekyo Sawulo yali aswakidde ng’ayigganya abayigirizwa ba Mukama waffe ng’abatiisatiisa okwagala okubatta, n’atuukirira Kabona Asinga Obukulu,
But Saul, still breathing threats and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest
2 n’amusaba awandiikire ab’omu makuŋŋaaniro ag’omu Damasiko ebbaluwa, ng’ebasaba bakolagane naye mu kuyigganya abakkiriza bonna abasajja n’abakazi b’alisanga eyo, abasibe mu njegere, alyoke abaleete e Yerusaalemi.
and asked for letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
3 Awo Sawulo bwe yali atambula ng’anaatera okutuuka e Damasiko, amangwago ekitangaala eky’amaanyi ennyo okuva mu ggulu ne kimwakako okumwetooloola.
As he traveled, he got close to Damascus, and suddenly a light from the sky shone around him.
4 N’agwa wansi, n’awulira eddoboozi nga limugamba nti, “Sawulo! Sawulo! Onjigganyiza ki?”
He fell on the earth, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”
5 Sawulo n’abuuza nti, “Ggwe ani, Mukama wange?” Eddoboozi ne limuddamu nti, “Nze Yesu gw’oyigganya!
He said, “Who are you, Lord?” The Lord said, “I am Yeshua, whom you are persecuting.
6 Kale yimuka ogende mu kibuga onootegeezebwa ky’osaanidde okukola.”
But rise up and enter into the city, then you will be told what you must do.”
7 Abasajja abaali ne Sawulo ne bayimirira nga basobeddwa n’ekyokwogera nga kibabuze kubanga baawulira eddoboozi ng’ery’omuntu naye nga tebalaba ayogera.
The men who traveled with him stood speechless, hearing the sound, but seeing no one.
8 Sawulo bwe yayimuka wansi n’agezaako okutunula naye ng’amaaso ge tegalaba. Era baamukwata bukwasi ku mukono okumuyingiza mu Damasiko.
Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were opened, he saw no one. They led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus.
9 N’amalayo ennaku ssatu nga talaba era nga talya mmere wadde okunywa amazzi okumala ebbanga eryo lyonna.
He was without sight for three days, and neither ate nor drank.
10 Mu Damasiko mwalimu omuyigirizwa ng’ayitibwa Ananiya. Mukama n’ayogera naye mu kwolesebwa n’amuyita nti, “Ananiya!” N’addamu nti, “Nze nzuuno, Mukama wange.”
Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Hananiah. The Lord said to him in a vision, “Hananiah!” He said, “Behold, it’s me, Lord.”
11 Mukama n’amugamba nti, “Genda ku luguudo oluyitibwa Olutereevu, onoonye ennyumba y’omuntu omu erinnya lye Yuda, omubuuze Sawulo ow’e Taluso. Ali eyo kaakano ng’asaba, kubanga
The Lord said to him, “Arise and go to the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judah for one named Saul, a man of Tarsus. For behold, he is praying,
12 mmulaze mu kwolesebwa omuntu ayitibwa Ananiya ng’ajja gy’ali era ng’amussaako emikono okumusabira amaaso ge galabe.”
and in a vision he has seen a man named Hananiah coming in and laying his hands on him, that he might receive his sight.”
13 Ananiya n’agamba nti, “Naye Mukama wange, nga mpulidde ebintu ebitali birungi bingi nnyo omuntu oyo by’akoze abakkiriza abali mu Yerusaalemi.
But Hananiah answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he did to your holy ones at Jerusalem.
14 Era tuwulira nti yafuna n’ebbaluwa okuva eri Kabona Asinga Obukulu, ng’emuwa obuyinza okukwata buli mukkiriza yenna ali mu Damasiko!”
Here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on your name.”
15 Naye Mukama n’amugamba nti, “Ggwe genda okole kye ŋŋambye. Kubanga Sawulo mmulonze okutwala erinnya lyange eri Abaamawanga ne bakabaka, era n’eri abaana ba Isirayiri.”
But the Lord said to him, “Go your way, for he is my chosen vessel to bear my name before the nations and kings, and the children of Israel.
16 Era nnaamulaga nga bw’ateekwa okubonaabona ku lw’erinnya lyange.
For I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name’s sake.”
17 Bw’atyo Ananiya n’agenda n’ayingira mu nnyumba Sawulo mwe yali n’amussaako emikono n’amugamba nti, “Owooluganda Sawulo, Mukama waffe Yesu eyakulabikira mu kkubo ng’ojja antumye gy’oli, oddemu okulaba era ojjuzibwe Mwoyo Mutukuvu.”
Hananiah departed and entered into the house. Laying his hands on him, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord, who appeared to you on the road by which you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
18 Amangwago ebintu ebyali ng’amagamba ne bigwa okuva ku maaso ga Sawulo n’asobola okulaba, n’ayimirira n’abatizibwa.
Immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he received his sight. He arose and was immersed.
19 N’alya emmere n’afuna amaanyi. N’abeera wamu n’abakkiriza mu Damasiko okumala ennaku eziwerako.
He took food and was strengthened. Saul stayed several days with the disciples who were at Damascus.
20 Amangwago Sawulo n’atandika okubuulira mu makuŋŋaaniro ku Yesu nti Yesu Mwana wa Katonda.
Immediately in the synagogues he proclaimed the Messiah, that he is the Son of God.
21 Bonna abaamuwulira ne beewuunya, ne beebuuza nti, “Si y’ono eyayigganyanga ennyo abagoberezi ba Yesu mu Yerusaalemi? Ate twawulira nga yeesonga eyamuleeta abakwate abatwale eri bakabona abakulu.”
All who heard him were amazed, and said, “Isn’t this he who in Jerusalem made havoc of those who called on this name? And he had come here intending to bring them bound before the chief priests!”
22 Sawulo ne yeeyongera okubuulira n’amaanyi n’asirisa Abayudaaya abaali mu Damasiko ng’akakasa nti Yesu ye Kristo.
But Saul increased more in strength, and confounded the Jews who lived at Damascus, proving that this is the Messiah.
23 Bwe waayitawo ebbanga, abakulembeze b’Abayudaaya ne basala olukwe okumutta.
When many days were fulfilled, the Jews conspired together to kill him,
24 Sawulo n’abaako amubuulira ku lukwe lwabwe nga bwe baali bamuteega ku miryango gy’ekibuga emisana n’ekiro bamutemule.
but their plot became known to Saul. They watched the gates both day and night that they might kill him,
25 Awo abayigirizwa ne bamufulumya ebweru w’ekibuga mu kiro nga bamuyisa mu bbugwe, nga bamusizza mu kisero.
but his disciples took him by night and let him down through the wall, lowering him in a basket.
26 Bwe yatuuka e Yerusaalemi n’agezaako okwegatta ku bayigirizwa naye bonna nga bamutya, nga tebakkiriza nti mukkiriza.
When Saul had come to Jerusalem, he tried to join himself to the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.
27 Naye Balunabba n’amuleeta eri abatume n’abategeeza nga Sawulo bwe yalaba Mukama mu kkubo era n’ayogera nga bwe yabuulira n’obuvumu mu Damasiko mu linnya lya Yesu.
But Barnabas took him and brought him to the emissaries, and declared to them how he had seen the Lord on the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how at Damascus he had preached boldly in the name of Yeshua.
28 Ne balyoka bamukkiriza n’abeeranga nabo, n’ayitanga nabo era ng’alya nabo mu Yerusaalemi. N’abuuliranga n’obuvumu erinnya lya Mukama waffe.
He was with them entering into Jerusalem,
29 Naye ne wabaawo okuwakana n’okukubaganya ebirowoozo wakati we n’Abakerenisiti, ne bagezaako okumutta.
proclaiming boldly in the name of the Lord Yeshua. He spoke and disputed against the Hellenists, but they were seeking to kill him.
30 Kyokka abooluganda bwe baawulira nga Sawulo ali mu kabi bwe katyo ne bamutwala e Kayisaliya ne bamuweereza e Taluso.
When the brothers knew it, they brought him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.
31 Mu kiseera ekyo Ekkanisa n’eba n’emirembe mu Buyudaaya, ne mu Ggaliraaya ne mu Samaliya; ne yeeyongera mu maanyi ne mu muwendo gw’abantu abakkiriza. Ne bayiga okutya Mukama, era Mwoyo Mutukuvu n’abasanyusanga.
So the assemblies throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were built up. They were multiplied, walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit.
32 Peetero n’atambulanga mu bifo bingi; era bwe yali ng’atambula n’asanga abakkiriza mu kibuga ekiyitibwa Luda.
As Peter went throughout all those parts, he came down also to the holy ones who lived at Lydda.
33 Eyo yasangayo omuntu erinnya lye Ayineya eyali akoozimbye ng’amaze ku kitanda emyaka munaana nga mulwadde.
There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden for eight years because he was paralyzed.
34 Peetero n’amugamba nti, “Ayineya! Yesu Kristo akuwonya. Golokoka weeyalire!” Amangwago n’awonyezebwa.
Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Yeshua the Messiah heals you. Get up and make your bed!” Immediately he arose.
35 Awo abantu bonna abaabeeranga mu Luda ne mu Saloni ne bakyukira Mukama, bwe baalaba nga Ayineya atambula.
All who lived at Lydda and in Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord.
36 Mu kibuga Yopa mwalimu omuyigirizwa ayitibwa Tabbiisa, mu Luyonaani ng’ayitibwa Doluka. Yali mukkiriza, bulijjo eyakoleranga abalala ebyekisa n’okusingira ddala abaavu.
Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tavita, which when translated means Dorcas. This woman was full of good works and acts of mercy which she did.
37 Mu kiseera ekyo n’alwala nnyo era n’afa. Ne bateekateeka omulambo gwe ne bagugalamiza mu kisenge ekya waggulu.
In those days, she became sick and died. When they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room.
38 Naye bwe baawulira nga Peetero ali kumpi awo mu kibuga Luda ne bamutumira abasajja babiri ne bamwegayirira ajje e Yopa.
As Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, imploring him not to delay in coming to them.
39 N’akkiriza. Amangu ddala nga yaakatuuka ne bamutwala mu kisenge ekya waggulu omulambo gwa Doluka gye gwali gugalamizibbwa. Ekisenge kyali kijjudde bannamwandu abaali bakaaba nga bwe balagaŋŋana ebyambalo Doluka bye yali abakoledde.
Peter got up and went with them. When he had come, they brought him into the upper room. All the widows stood by him weeping, and showing the tunics and other garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.
40 Peetero n’abasaba bonna bafulume, n’afukamira n’asaba. N’akyukira omulambo n’ayogera nti, “Tabbiisa golokoka.” Tabbiisa n’azibula amaaso, era bwe yalaba Peetero n’atuula.
Peter sent them all out, and knelt down and prayed. Turning to the body, he said, “Tavita, get up!” She opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
41 Peetero n’amukwata ku mukono amuyambe okuyimuka, n’alyoka ayita abakkiriza ne bannamwandu, n’abamukwasa nga mulamu.
He gave her his hand and raised her up. Calling the holy ones and widows, he presented her alive.
42 Amawulire ago ne gayitiŋŋana mu kibuga Yopa kyonna era bangi ne bakkiriza Mukama.
This became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.
43 Peetero n’abeera e Yopa okumala ebbanga ddene, ng’asula ewa Simooni omuwazi w’amaliba.
He stayed many days in Joppa with a tanner named Simon.
