1 Awo akasasamalo bwe kakkakkana, Pawulo n’atumya abayigirizwa, ne bakuŋŋaana, n’ababuulira ekigambo kya Katonda ng’abasiibula n’okubagumya, n’alyoka asitula n’alaga mu Makedoniya.
When the uproar had ceased, Paul sent for the disciples, and, with encouraging words, said goodbye to them, and started on his journey to Macedonia.
2 N’agenda ng’ayitaayita mu bitundu ebyo ng’ayogera n’abantu ebigambo bingi eby’okubagumya n’okubanyiikiza mu kukkiriza kwabwe. Oluvannyuma n’atuuka mu Buyonaani,
After going through those districts and speaking many encouraging words to the disciples, he went into Greece, where he stayed three months.
3 n’amalamu emyezi esatu. Bwe yali ateekateeka okusaabala ku nnyanja okulaga mu Siriya, n’avumbula olukwe Abayudaaya lwe baali basaze okumutta, kyeyava asalawo okuddayo mu Makedoniya gy’aba ayita.
He was about to sail to Syria, when he learned that a plot had been laid against him by several of the Jewish leaders; so he decided to return by way of Macedonia.
4 Abaamuwerekerako mu lugendo olwo okutuuka mu Asiya, be bano: Sopateri Omuberoya mutabani wa Puulo, ne Alisutaluuko ne Sekundo Abasessaloniika, ne Gaayo Omuderube, ne Timoseewo, n’Abasiya, Tukiko ne Tulofiimo.
He was accompanied by Sopater the son of Pyrrhus, of Beroea, Aristarchus and Secundus from Thessalonica, Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy, as well as by Tychicus and Trophimus of Roman Asia.
5 Oluvannyuma bano bonna ne batukulembera ne batulinda e Tulowa.
These people went to Troas and waited for us there;
6 Ne tusaabala ku nnyanja okuva e Firipi nga tumaze embaga ey’Emigaati Egitazimbulukuswa, ne tumala ku nnyanja ennaku ttaano, bannaffe ne tubatuukako mu Tulowa ne tumalawo ennaku musanvu.
while we ourselves sailed from Philippi after the Passover, and joined them five days later at Troas, where we stayed for a week.
7 Awo olumu ku nnaku za ssabbiiti, bwe twali tukuŋŋaanye okumenya omugaati, Pawulo n’abaako bye yali abayigiriza. Naye olwokubanga enkeera yali asitula, n’ayogerera ebbanga ddene nnyo, n’atuusa mu ttumbi ng’akyayogera!
On the first day of the week, when we had met for the breaking of bread, Paul, who was intending to leave the next day, began to address those who were present, and prolonged his address until midnight.
8 Mu kisenge ekya waggulu mwe twali tukuŋŋaanidde mwalimu ettaala nnyingi nga zaaka.
There were a good many lamps in the upstairs room, where we had met;
9 Waaliwo omuvubuka erinnya lye Yutuko, eyali atudde mu ddirisa, otulo ne tumukwata. Pawulo bwe yalwawo ng’akyayogera, omuvubuka ne yeebakira ddala, okutuusa lwe yasimattuka mu ddirisa ku mwaliiro ogwokusatu n’agwa ebweru n’afiirawo.
and a young man named Eutychus, sitting at the window, was gradually overcome with great drowsiness, as Paul continued his address. At last, quite overpowered by his drowsiness, he fell from the third story to the ground, and was picked up for dead.
10 Pawulo n’akka wansi n’amusitula n’amuwambaatira mu mikono gye. N’agamba nti, “Temweraliikirira, mulamu!”
But Paul went down, threw himself on him, and put his arms around him. “Do not be alarmed,” he said, “he is still alive.”
11 Awo bonna ne baddayo waggulu ne bamenya omugaati ne balya. Pawulo ne yeyongera okwogera okutuusiza ddala obudde okukya, n’alyoka asitula n’agenda.
Then he went upstairs; and, after breaking and partaking of the bread, he talked with them at great length until daybreak, and then left.
12 Ne baddamu amaanyi, n’omuvubuka ne bamutwala eka nga mulamu.
Meanwhile they had taken the boy away alive, and were greatly comforted.
13 Awo Pawulo ne tumukulembera ne tusaabala ku nnyanja okulaga mu Aso, Pawulo nga bwe yali ateeseteese, kubanga ye yali ateeseteese kuyita ku lukalu.
We started first, went on board ship, and sailed for Assos, intending to take Paul on board there. This was by his own arrangement, as he intended to go by land himself.
14 Bwe yatusisinkana mu Aso, ne tutuuka e Mituleene.
So, when he met us at Assos, we took him on board and went on to Mitylene.
15 Bwe twava eyo ne tuwunguka olunaku olwaddirira ne tutuuka mu kifo ekyolekedde Kiyo. Ne ku lunaku olwaddirira ne tusala ne tudda e Samo, ne ku lunaku olwaddirira ne tutuuka e Mireeto.
The day after we had sailed from there, we arrived off Chios, touched at Samos the following day, and the next day reached Miletus;
16 Pawulo yali asazeewo obutayimirira mu Efeso nga yeewala okumala ekiseera ekinene mu Asiya, kubanga yali yeeyuna nti ssinga asobola, atuuke mu Yerusaalemi ng’olunaku lwa Pentekoote terunnatuuka.
for Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus, so as to avoid spending much time in Roman Asia. He was making haste to reach Jerusalem, if possible, by the Festival at the close of the Harvest.
17 Bwe yatuuka e Mireeto, n’atumira abakadde b’Ekkanisa ya Efeso bajje bamulabe.
From Miletus, however, he sent to Ephesus and invited the church elders to meet him;
18 Awo bwe baatuuka Pawulo n’agamba nti, “Mumanyi bulungi ng’okuva ku lunaku lwe natuukirako mu Asiya n’okutuusa leero,
and, when they came, he said to them, “You know well the life that I always led among you from the very first day that I set foot in Roman Asia,
19 nkoze omulimu gwa Mukama mmuweereza n’obuwombeefu n’amaziga n’okugezesebwa ebyantukako olw’enkwe z’Abayudaaya.
serving the Lord, as I did, in all humility, amid the tears and trials which fell to my lot through the plots of some of the Jewish leaders.
20 Naye saalekayo kubabuulira bituufu eby’okubayamba, bwe twabanga tukuŋŋaanye oba bwe najjanga mu maka gammwe,
I never shrank from telling you anything that could be helpful to you, or from teaching you both in public and in private.
21 nga ntegeeza Abayudaaya n’Abayonaani okwenenya badde eri Katonda, n’okuba n’okukkiriza mu Mukama waffe Yesu.
I earnestly pointed both Jews and Greeks to the repentance that leads to God, and to faith in Jesus, our Lord.
22 “Ne kaakano laba nsibiddwa Mwoyo Mutukuvu, ŋŋenda e Yerusaalemi nga simanyi binaantukako nga ndi eyo.
And now, under spiritual constraint, I am here on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there,
23 Wabula Mwoyo Mutukuvu antegeeza nti okusibibwa n’okubonyaabonyezebwa binnindiridde mu buli kibuga.
except that in town after town the Holy Spirit plainly declares to me that imprisonment and troubles await me.
24 Naye obulamu bwange sibutwala kuba nga kya muwendo gye ndi, ndyoke ntuukirize omulimu gwange, n’obuweereza bwe nnaweebwa Mukama waffe Yesu, okutegeezanga Enjiri ey’ekisa kya Katonda.
But I count my life of no value to myself, if only I may complete the course marked out for me, and the task that was allotted me by the Lord Jesus – which was to declare the good news of the love of God.
25 “Ne kaakano mmanyi nga temukyaddayo kundaba nate, mwenna be natambulamu nga mbuulira obwakabaka.
And now, I tell you, I know that none of you will ever see my face again – you among whom I have gone about proclaiming the kingdom.
26 Noolwekyo mbategeeza leero nti sirina kyenvunaanwa olw’omusaayi gwa bonna,
Therefore I declare to you this day, that my conscience is clear in regard to the fate of any of you,
27 kubanga sirina na kimu kye nalekayo nga mbabuulira okwagala kwa Katonda.
for I have not shrunk from announcing the whole purpose of God regarding you.
28 Mwekumenga era mukuumenga n’ekisibo kyonna Mwoyo Mutukuvu mwe yabateeka okuba abalabirizi okulabiriranga Ekkanisa ya Katonda gye yeegulira n’omusaayi gwe.
Be watchful over yourselves, and over the whole flock, of which the Holy Spirit has placed you in charge, to shepherd the church of God, which he won for himself at the cost of his life.
29 Mmanyi nga bwe ndigenda, emisege emikambwe giribayingiramu, era tegirisaasira kisibo.
I know that, after my departure, merciless wolves will get in among you, who will not spare the flock;
30 Ne mu mmwe bennyini mulivaamu abasajja aboogera ebintu ebikyamu, okwefunira abayigirizwa abanaabagobereranga.
and from among yourselves, too, people will arise, who will teach perversions of truth, so as to draw away the disciples after them.
31 Noolwekyo mwekuume. Mujjukire nga bwe nababuulirira nga nkaaba amaziga okumala emyaka esatu, emisana n’ekiro, ne mundeeta n’amaziga.
Therefore, be on your guard, remembering how for three years, night and day, I never ceased, even with tears, to warn each one of you.
32 “Kaakano mbasigira Katonda n’ekigambo eky’ekisa kye ebiyinza okubazimba n’okubawa omugabo mu abo bonna abaatukuzibwa.
And now I commend you to the Lord and to the message of his love – a message which has the power to build up your characters, and to give you your place among all those who have become Christ’s people.
33 Siyaayaaniranga ffeeza newaakubadde zaabu wadde engoye eby’omuntu n’omu.
I have never coveted anyone’s gold or silver or clothing.
34 Mmwe bennyini mumanyi nti neetuusizaako ebyetaago byange n’eby’abo bendi nabo.
You, yourselves, know that these hands of mine provided not only for my own wants, but for my companions also.
35 Mbalaze mu buli kintu nga mu kukola n’amaanyi, kibagwanira okuyamba abanafu, ate n’okujjukira ebigambo bya Mukama waffe Yesu bye yayogera nti, ‘Okugaba kwa mukisa okusinga okuweebwa.’”
I left nothing undone to show you that, laboring as I labored, you ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said himself – ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
36 Awo Pawulo bwe yamala okwogera ebyo, n’afukamira n’asaba nabo bonna.
When Paul had finished speaking, he knelt down and prayed with them all.
37 Buli omu n’akaaba nnyo amaziga, ne bamugwa mu kifuba okumusiibula,
All were in tears; and throwing their arms around Paul’s neck, they kissed him again and again,
38 nga banakuwavu, naye okusinga byonna olw’ekigambo kye yayogera nti, Tebakyaddayo kumulaba. Ne bamuwerekerako ne bamutuusa ku kyombo.
grieving most of all over what he had said – that they would never see his face again. Then they escorted him to the ship.
