1 Awo Yowaabu mutabani wa Zeruyiya n’ategeera nga omutima gwa kabaka gulumirwa Abusaalomu.
And he perceived Joab [the] son of Zeruiah that [the] heart of the king [was] towards Absalom.
2 Yowaabu n’atumya omukazi omugezigezi okuva e Tekowa, n’amugamba nti, “Weefuule akungubaga, oyambale engoye ez’okukungubaga, teweesiiga mafuta, obeere ng’omukyala amaze ennaku ennyingi ng’akungubagira omufu.
And he sent Joab Tekoa towards and he took from there a woman wise and he said to her play [the] mourner please and put on please garments of mourning and may not you anoint yourself oil and you will be like a woman this days many [who has been] mourning on a dead [person].
3 Genda eri kabaka, omugambe ebigambo bino.” Yowaabu n’amuwa ebigambo eby’okwogera.
And you will go to the king and you will speak to him according to the word this and he put Joab the words in mouth her.
4 Awo omukazi ow’e Tekowa n’agenda eri kabaka, n’avuunama amaaso ge ku ttaka, ne yeeyanza, n’ayogera nti, “Mbeera, ayi kabaka.”
And she said the woman Tekoite to the king and she fell on face her [the] ground towards and she bowed down and she said save! O king.
5 Kabaka n’amubuuza nti, “Nkubeere mu ki?” N’addamu nti, “Ndi nnamwandu baze yafa.
And he said to her the king what? [is] to you and she said indeed [am] a woman a widow I and he has died husband my.
6 Nalina batabani bange babiri. Bombi baalwanira ku ttale ne wataba n’omu abataasa, omu n’atta munne.
And [belonged] to maidservant your two sons and they struggled together [the] two of them in the field and there not [was] a deliverer between them and he struck him the one the one and he killed him.
7 Kaakano ekika kyonna kiyimukidde omuweereza wo, nga boogera nti, ‘Tuwe omusajja oyo asse muganda we, tumutte olw’obulamu bwa muganda we gwe yatta, tutte n’omusika.’ Mu ngeri eyo banaaba bazikizza etabaaza yokka gye nsigazza, obutalekaawo linnya lya baze wange newaakubadde obusika bwe ku nsi yonna.”
And there! it has risen up all the clan on maidservant your and they have said deliver up - [the] [one who] struck down brother his so we may put to death him for [the] life of brother his whom he killed and let us destroy also the heir and they will extinguish coal my which it is left to not (to establish *Q(K)*) for husband my a name and a remnant on [the] surface of the ground.
8 Awo kabaka n’agamba omukazi nti, “Ddayo eka, nzija kukola ku nsonga yo.”
And he said the king to the woman go to house your and I I will command on you.
9 Naye omukazi ow’e Tekowa n’agamba kabaka nti, “Mukama wange kabaka, omusango ka gubeere ku nze, n’ennyumba ya kitange; kabaka n’obwakabaka bwe buleme kubeerako musango.”
And she said the woman Tekoite to the king [be] on me O lord my the king the iniquity and on [the] house of father my and the king and throne his [be] innocent.
10 Kabaka n’addamu nti, “Bwe wanaabeerawo omuntu yenna abaako kya kugamba, mundeetere, taddeyo nate kukutawanya.”
And he said the king the [one who] speaks to you and you will bring him to me and not he will repeat again to touch you.
11 Omukazi n’ayogera nti, “Nkwegayiridde, kabaka, ondayirire eri Mukama Katonda wo, awalana eggwanga olw’omusaayi era aziyiza obubi okweyongera ku bubi, mutabani wange aleme okuzikirizibwa.” N’amuddamu nti, “Mukama nga bw’ali omulamu, tewaliba luviiri olwa mutabani wo olulimuva ku mutwe.”
And she said let him remember please the king Yahweh God your (from increasing *Q(k)*) [the] avenger of blood to destroy and not they will destroy son my and he said [by] [the] life of Yahweh if it will fall one of [the] hair[s] of son your [the] ground towards.
12 Awo omukazi n’agamba kabaka nti, “Nkwegayiridde, ka mbeeko ekigambo kye ŋŋamba mukama wange kabaka.” N’amuddamu nti, “Yogera.”
And she said the woman let her speak please maidservant your to lord my the king a word and he said speak.
13 Omukazi n’ayogera nti, “Kiki ekikukoza ekigambo bwe kityo abantu ba Katonda? Kabaka aba teyeesalira yekka omusango kubanga takomezaawo omwana we eyagobebwa?
And she said the woman and why? have you planned like this on [the] people of God and because has spoken the king the word this like a guilty [person] to not to bring back the king banished [son] his.
14 Ffenna tuli baakufa, ng’amazzi bwe gayiibwa ku ttaka, ne gatayinzika kuyooleka nate. Naye Katonda taggyawo bulamu, anoonya engeri gy’anaayinza okukomyawo omuntu abuze.
For certainly we will die and [we are] like waters which are spilled [the] ground towards which not they will be gathered and not he takes away God life and he plans plans to not he will be cast out from him a banished [one].
15 “Kale nno ekyo kye kyandeese eri kabaka, kubanga abantu bantiisizza, ne baleetera omuweereza wo okulowooza nti, ‘Bwe nnaayogera ne kabaka, mpozzi aliddamu omuweereza we ky’amusaba.
And now when I have come to speak to the king lord my the word this that they have made afraid me the people and she said maidservant your let me speak please to the king perhaps he will do the king [the] word of maidservant his.
16 Oboolyawo kabaka anaawulira ensonga yange, n’alokola omuzaana we mu mukono gw’omusajja agezaako okunzikiriza nze n’omwana wange okutuggyako obusika Katonda bwe yatuwa.’
For he will hear the king to deliver maidservant his from [the] hand of the man to destroy me and son my together from [the] inheritance of God.
17 “Era omuweereza wo yayogedde mu mutima gwe nti, ‘Ekigambo kya mukama wange kabaka kye kirimpummuza, kubanga mukama wange kabaka ali nga malayika wa Katonda mu kwawulamu ebirungi n’ebibi. Mukama Katonda wo abeere naawe.’”
And she said maidservant your may it become please [the] word of lord my the king rest for - like [the] angel of God [is] so lord my the king to hear good and bad and Yahweh God your may he be with you.
18 Awo kabaka n’agamba omukazi nti, “Tobaako n’ekimu ky’onkisa ku bye nnaakubuuza.” Omukazi n’addamu nti, “Mukama wange kabaka ambuuze.”
And he answered the king and he said to the woman may not please you hide from me anything which I [am] asking you and she said the woman let him speak please lord my the king.
19 Kabaka n’amubuuza nti, “Omukono gwa Yowaabu guli wamu naawe mu bigambo ebyo byonna?” Omukazi n’amuddamu nti, “Nga bw’oli omulamu mukama wange kabaka, tewali ayinza okukubuzaabuza ng’adda ku mukono ogwa ddyo oba ogwa kkono okukuggya ku ky’oyogera mukama wange kabaka. Weewaawo, omuddu wo Yowaabu yeyandagidde, n’ampa n’ebigambo ebyo byonna.
And he said the king ¿ [is] [the] hand of Joab with you in all this and she answered the woman and she said [by] [the] life of self your O lord my the king if there is - to go to [the] right and to go to [the] left from all that he has spoken lord my the king for servant your Joab he he commanded me and he he put in [the] mouth of maidservant your all the words these.
20 Omuddu wo Yowaabu, ekyo y’akikoze okukyusa embeera eriwo kaakano. Naye mukama wange mugezigezi nga malayika wa Katonda amanyi byonna ebifa ku nsi.”
In order to change [the] face of the matter he did servant your Joab the thing this and lord my [is] wise like [the] wisdom of [the] angel of God to know all that [is] in the land.
21 Awo kabaka n’agamba Yowaabu nti, “Kale, nzija kukikola. Genda okime omuvubuka Abusaalomu.”
And he said the king to Joab here! please I do the thing this and go bring back the young man Absalom.
22 Awo Yowaabu n’agwa bugazi ku ttaka ne yeeyanza, n’asabira kabaka omukisa, n’ayogera nti, “Leero, omuddu wo ategedde ng’alabye ekisa mu maaso go, mukama wange kabaka, kubanga kabaka azeemu okwegayirira okw’omuddu we.”
And he fell Joab to face his [the] ground towards and he bowed down and he blessed the king and he said Joab this day he knows servant your that I have found favor in view your O lord my the king that he has done the king [the] word of (servant your. *Q(K)*)
23 Yowaabu n’agenda e Gesuli n’akima Abusaalomu n’amukomyawo e Yerusaalemi.
And he arose Joab and he went Geshur towards and he brought Absalom Jerusalem.
24 Naye kabaka n’awa ekiragiro nti, “Ateekwa kugenda mu nnyumba eyiye ku bubwe, tateekwa kulaba maaso gange.” Awo Abusaalomu n’abeera mu nnyumba eyiye ku bubwe, n’atalaba maaso ga kabaka.
And he said the king he will turn to house his and face my not he will see and he turned Absalom to house his and [the] face of the king not he saw.
25 Mu Isirayiri yonna temwali n’omu eyatenderezebwa nga Abusaalomu olw’endabika ye ennungi, kubanga okuviira ddala ku mutwe okutuuka ku bigere teyaliiko kamogo.
And like Absalom not he was a man handsome in all Israel to praise exceedingly from [the] sole of foot his and to scalp his not it was in him a blemish.
26 Buli lwe yasalanga enviiri ze, lwe zali ng’ennyingi ku mutwe gwe, obuzito bw’azo bw’ali nga kilo bbiri ne desimoolo ssatu ng’ebipimo bya kabaka bwe byali.
And when shaved he head his and it was from [the] end of days - to the days when he shaved for [it was] heavy on him and he shaved it and he weighed [the] hair of head his two hundred shekels by [the] weight of the king.
27 Abusaalomu n’azaalirwa abaana basatu aboobulenzi n’owoobuwala omu. Omuwala ye yali Tamali nga mukyala mulungi nnyo ku maaso.
And they were born to Absalom three sons and a daughter one and name her [was] Tamar she she was a woman beautiful of appearance.
28 Abusaalomu n’abeera mu Yerusaalemi okumala emyaka ebiri nga talaba maaso ga kabaka.
And he dwelt Absalom in Jerusalem two years days and [the] face of the king not he saw.
29 Awo Abusaalomu n’atumya Yowaabu amutume eri kabaka, naye Yowaabu n’atagendayo. N’amutumya omulundi ogwokubiri, naye era n’agaana okugenda yo.
And he sent Absalom to Joab to send him to the king and not he was willing to come to him and he sent again a second [time] and not he was willing to come.
30 Abusaalomu n’agamba abaddu be nti, “Ennimiro ya Yowaabu eriraanye eyange, era alinamu sayiri. Mugende mugikumeko omuliro.” Awo abaddu ba Abusaalomu ne bagikumako omuliro ne bagyokya.
And he said to servants his see [the] portion of land of Joab [is] to hand my and [belongs] to him there barley go (and set on fire it *Q(K)*) with fire and they set on fire [the] servants of Absalom the portion of land with fire.
31 Yowaabu n’agolokoka n’agenda eri Abusaalomu mu nnyumba ye n’amubuuza nti, “Lwaki abaddu bo bookezza ennimiro yange?”
And he arose Joab and he went to Absalom the house towards and he said to him why? have they set on fire servants your the portion of land which [belongs] to me with fire.
32 Abusaalomu n’agamba Yowaabu nti, “Laba, nakutumya, nga ŋŋamba ojje wano nkutume eri kabaka okumubuuza nti, ‘Lwaki nava e Gesuli? Kyandisinze singa nasigala eyo.’ Kaakano njagala kugenda mu maaso ga kabaka, obanga nnina omusango, anzite.”
And he said Absalom to Joab here! I sent to you - saying come here so let me send you to the king saying why? have I come from Geshur [was] good for me still I [was] there and therefore let me see [the] face of the king and if there in me [is] iniquity and he will kill me.
33 Awo Yowaabu n’agenda eri kabaka, n’amutegeeza ebigambo ebyo. Kabaka n’atumya Abusaalomu, n’ajja, n’avuunama amaaso ge wansi mu maaso ga kabaka. Kabaka n’amunywegera.
And he went Joab to the king and he told to him and he summoned Absalom and he came to the king and he bowed down to him on face his [the] ground towards before the king and he kissed the king Absalom.
