2 Bassekabaka 21

1 Manase yatandika okufuga ng’alina emyaka kkumi n’ebiri, era n’afugira emyaka amakumi ataano mu etaano mu Yerusaalemi. Nnyina ye yali Kefuziba.

Twelve years old, was Manasseh when he began to reign, and, fifty-five years, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and the name of his mother was Hephzibah.

2 N’akola ebibi mu maaso ga Mukama, ng’atambulira mu makubo amabi ag’amawanga Mukama ge yali agobye mu maaso g’Abayisirayiri.

And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —after the abominable practices of the nations, whom Yahweh had dispossessed from before the sons of Israel.

3 Yaddamu n’azimba ebifo ebigulumivu eby’okusamira, Keezeekiya kitaawe bye yali amenye: era yazimba n’ebyoto ebya Baali, n’asimba n’empagi kya Asera, nga Akabu kabaka wa Isirayiri bwe yakola, n’okusinza n’asinza eggye ery’omu ggulu.

He again built the high places, which Hezekiah his father had destroyed, —and reared altars to Baal, and made a Sacred Stem, as did Ahab, king of Israel, and bowed down to all the army of the heavens, and served them.

4 Yazimba n’ebyoto mu yeekaalu ya Mukama, Mukama gye yali ayogeddeko nti, “Mu Yerusaalemi mwe mulibeera Erinnya lyange.”

And he used to build altars in the house of Yahweh, —concerning which Yahweh had said, —In Jerusalem, will I put my Name.

5 Era yazimbira eggye lyonna ery’omu ggulu ebyoto mu mpya zombi eza yeekaalu ya Mukama.

And he built altars to all the army of the heavens, —in the two courts of the house of Yahweh;

6 N’awaayo mutabani we okuba ekyokebwa, ng’akola eby’obufumu n’eby’obulogo, ate ng’alagulwa n’abaliko emizimu, n’abalogo. N’akola ebibi bingi mu maaso ga Mukama, era n’amusunguwaza.

and caused his son to pass through the fire, and practised hidden arts and used divination, and dealt with a familiar spirit and wizards, —he exceeded in doing the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, provoking [him] to anger;

7 Yaddira ekifaananyi ekyole ekya Asera n’akiteeka mu yeekaalu, Mukama gye yali ayogeddeko ng’agamba Dawudi ne mutabani we Sulemaani nti, “Mu Yeekaalu eno ne mu Yerusaalemi, bye nneeroboza mu bika byonna ebya Isirayiri, mwe munaabeeranga erinnya lyange emirembe gyonna.

and he set the image of the Sacred Stem which he had made, —in the house, of which Yahweh had said unto David, and unto Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put my Name, unto times age-abiding;

8 Siriddayo nate kujja bigere eby’Abayisirayiri mu nsi gye nawa bajjajjaabwe, bwe baneekuumanga okukola bye nabalagira byonna wamu n’amateeka omuddu wange Musa ge yabawa.”

and I will not again let the foot of Israel wander away from the soil which I gave unto their fathers. Only if they take heed to do according to all that I have commanded them, even to the extent of all the law which, my servant Moses, commanded them.

9 Naye abantu tebaawuliriza, era Manase n’abasendasenda okukola ebibi okusinga n’ebyo amawanga Mukama ge yazikiririza mu maaso g’Abayisirayiri bye gaakola.

But they hearkened not, —and Manasseh led them astray to do the thing that was wicked, more than the nations which Yahweh destroyed from before the sons of Israel.

10 Awo Mukama n’ayogerera mu baddu be bannabbi

Yahweh therefore spake through his servants the prophets saying—

11 nti, “Olw’emizizo gino Manase kabaka wa Yuda gy’akoze, ng’ayonoona okusinga Abamoli abaamusooka bye baakola, n’ayonoonyesa Yuda n’ebifaananyi bye,

Because Manasseh king of Judah hath made these abominations—hath done that which is wicked, more than all which the Amorites did who were before him, and hath caused, even Judah, to sin with his manufactured gods,

12 bw’ati bw’ayogera Mukama, Katonda wa Isirayiri nti, ‘Ndireeta ku Yerusaalemi ne ku Yuda obubi obusingirayo ddala, era na buli muntu alikiwulira, alisasamala.

therefore—Thus, saith Yahweh, God of Israel, Behold me! bringing in calamity upon Jerusalem and Judah, —that, whosoever heareth thereof, both his ears, will tingle;

13 Ndigolola omuguwa ogwakozesebwa ku Samaliya n’ejjinja erigera eryakozesebwa ku nnyumba ya Akabu eri Yerusaalemi, era ne mmalirawo ddala Yerusaalemi ng’omuntu bw’akomba esowaani okumalirako ddala emmere, n’okugifuula n’agifuula.

And I will stretch over Jerusalem, the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab, —and will wipe out Jerusalem, as one wipeth out a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down;

14 Era ndyabulira ekitundu ekyafikkawo eky’obusika bwange, ne nkigabula mu mukono gw’abalabe baabwe, ne bababbako buli kantu,

And will abandon the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies, —and they shall become a prey and a plunder, to all their enemies:

15 kubanga baakola ebibi mu maaso gange, ne bansunguwaza nnyo okuviira ddala ku lunaku bajjajjaabwe kwe baaviirako mu Misiri n’okutuusa ku lunaku lwa leero.’”

Because they have done the thing that is wicked in mine eyes, and have become such as to provoke me to anger, —from the day when their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even until this day.

16 Ate, era Manase yayiwa omusaayi mungi gw’abo abataaliko musango, n’agujjuza Yerusaalemi, obutasaako ebibi ebirala bye yayonoonyesa Yuda, ne bakola ebibi mu maaso ga Mukama.

Moreover also, innocent blood, did Manasseh shed in great abundance, till he had filled Jerusalem, from one end to the other, besides his committing the sins which he caused, Judah, to commit, in doing the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh.

17 Ebyafaayo ebirala ebyabaawo mu mirembe gya Manase, ne byonna bye yakola, okwo nga kwe kuli n’ebibi bye yakola, tebyawandiikibwa mu kitabo eky’ebyomumirembe gya bassekabaka ba Yuda?

Now, the rest of the story of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he committed, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

18 Awo Manase n’afa, n’aziikibwa mu nnimiro ey’olubiri lwe, ye nnimiro ya Uzza, ne mutabani we Amoni n’amusikira okuba kabaka.

And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza, —and, Amon his son, reigned, in his stead.

19 Amoni lwe yatandika okufuga, yali awezezza emyaka amakumi abiri mu ebiri, era n’afugira mu Yerusaalemi okumala emyaka ebiri. Nnyina ye yali Mesullemesi muwala wa Kaluzi ow’e Yotuba.

Twenty-two years old, was Amon when he began to reign, and, two years, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and, his mother’s name, was Meshullemeth daughter of Haruz, of Jotbah.

20 N’akola ebibi mu maaso ga Mukama, nga kitaawe bwe yakola.

And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —as did Manasseh his father;

21 N’atambulira mu ngeri za kitaawe, n’asinzanga ebifaananyi kitaawe bye yasinzanga.

yea he walked in all the way wherein, his father, had walked, —and served the manufactured gods that, his father, had served, and bowed down to them;

22 Yava ku Mukama, Katonda wa bajjajjaabe, n’atatambulira mu kkubo lya Mukama.

and forsook Yahweh the God of his fathers, —and walked not in the way of Yahweh.

23 Awo abakungu ba Amoni ne bamusalira olukwe, ne bamuttira mu lubiri lwe.

And the servants of Amon, conspired against him, —and slew the king in his own house.

24 Awo olwatuuka, abantu mu nsi ne beekobaana, ne batta abo bonna abaali mu lukwe olw’okumutta, era ne bafuula Yosiya mutabani we kabaka.

Then the people of the land smote all who had conspired against King Amon, —and the people of the land made, Josiah his son, king, in his stead.

25 Ebyafaayo ebirala ebyabaawo mu mirembe gya Amoni, tebyawandiikibwa mu kitabo eky’ebyomumirembe gya bassekabaka ba Yuda?

Now, the rest of the story of Amon, what he did, is, it, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

26 Kabaka n’aziikibwa mu ntaana ye mu nnimiro ya Uzza, mutabani we Yosiya n’amusikira okuba kabaka.

And he was buried in his grave, in the garden of Uzza, —and, Josiah his son, reigned, in his stead.
