1 Akazi yali wa myaka amakumi abiri we yaliira obwakabaka, n’afugira emyaka kkumi na mukaaga mu Yerusaalemi. Naye obutafaanana nga jjajjaawe Dawudi, yakola ebitali bya butuukirivu mu maaso ga Mukama.
Ahaz was twentie yeere old when he began to reigne, and reigned sixteene yeere in Ierusalem, and did not vprightly in the sight of the Lord, like Dauid his father.
2 N’atambulira mu makubo ga bassekabaka ba Isirayiri, n’okukola n’akola ebifaananyi ebisaanuuse ebyakozesebwanga mu kusinza Baali.
But he walked in the wayes of ye Kings of Israel, and made euen molten images for Baalim.
3 N’ayoterezanga obubaane mu kiwonvu kya mutabani wa Kinomu, n’awaayo batabani be okuba ebiweebwayo ebyokebwa, ng’agoberera emizizo gy’abannaggwanga, Mukama be yagoba mu maaso g’Abayisirayiri.
Moreouer he burnt incense in the valley of Ben-hinnom, and burnt his sonnes with fire, after the abominations of the heathen whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.
4 N’awangayo ssaddaaka wamu n’okwoterezanga obubaane mu bifo ebigulumivu, ne ku ntikko z’ensozi, ne wansi wa buli muti omubisi.
He sacrificed also and burnt incense in the hie places, and on hilles, and vnder euery greene tree.
5 Mukama Katonda we kyeyava amuwaayo mu mukono gwa kabaka w’e Busuuli, eyamuwangula n’atwala abantu ba Yuda bangi nga basibe, n’abaleeta e Ddamasiko. Ate era yaweebwayo ne mu mukono gwa kabaka wa Isirayiri, eyaleeta ku bantu ba Yuda ebisago ebinene.
Wherefore the Lord his God deliuered him into the hand of the King of the Aramites, and they smote him, and tooke of his, many prisoners, and brought them to Damascus: and he was also deliuered into the hande of the King of Israel, which smote him with a great slaughter.
6 Peka mutabani wa Lemaliya yatta abaserikale ba Yuda emitwalo kkumi n’ebiri mu lunaku lumu, kubanga baali bavudde ku Mukama Katonda wa bajjajjaabwe.
For Pekah the sonne of Remaliah slewe in Iudah sixe score thousand in one day, all valiant men, because they had forsaken the Lord God of their fathers.
7 Ne Zikuli, omusajja omulwanyi omuzira owa Efulayimu n’atta Maaseya mutabani wa kabaka, ne Azulikamu omukulu w’olubiri ne Erukaana omukungu, addirira kabaka.
And Zichri a mighty man of Ephraim slew Maaseiah the Kings sonne, and Azrikam the gouernour of the house, and Elkanah the second after the King.
8 Abayisirayiri ne bawamba abakyala, n’abaana aboobulenzi, n’aboobuwala, emitwalo amakumi abiri ku baganda baabwe, ne babatwala nga basibe e Samaliya, ate ne babatwalako n’omunyago mungi.
And the children of Israel tooke prisoners of their brethren, two hudreth thousand of women, sonnes and daughters, and caried away much spoyle of them, and brought the spoyle to Samaria.
9 Awo Odedi nnabbi wa Mukama eyali eyo n’agenda okusisinkana eggye eryali lijja e Samaliya, n’abagamba nti, “Laba, kubanga Mukama Katonda wa bajjajjammwe yasunguwalira Yuda, kyeyava abawaayo mu mukono gwammwe, kyokka mubasse n’ekiruyi n’okutuuka ne kituuka mu ggulu.
But there was a Prophet of the Lordes, (whose name was Oded) and he went out before the hoste that came to Samaria, and said vnto them, Behold, because the Lord God of your fathers is wroth with Iudah, he hath deliuered them into your hand, and ye haue slaine them in a rage, that reacheth vp to heauen.
10 Kaakano, abasajja n’abakazi aba Yuda ne Yerusaalemi mumaliridde, okubafuula abaddu bammwe. Naye bwe mmwekebera, temulina kye mwali musobezza Mukama Katonda wammwe?
And nowe ye purpose to keepe vnder the children of Iudah and Ierusalem, as seruants and handmaides vnto you: but are not you such, that sinnes are with you before the Lord your God?
11 Kale nno, mumpulirize, muleke baganda bammwe be muwambye baddeyo ewaabwe, kubanga Mukama abasunguwalidde mmwe.”
Nowe therefore heare me, and deliuer the captiues againe, which ye haue taken prisoners of your brethren: for the fierce wrath of the Lord is toward you.
12 Awo abamu ku bakadde ba Efulayimu, Azaliya mutabani wa Yokanaani, ne Berakiya mutabani wa Mesiremosi, ne Yekizukiya mutabani wa Sallumu, ne Amasa mutabani wa Kadalayi, ne bayimirira okuziyiza abo abaali bava mu lutalo.
Wherefore certaine of the chiefe of the children of Ephraim, Azariah the sonne of Iehohanan, Berechiah the sonne of Meshillemoth, and Iehizkiah the sonne of Shallum, and Amasa the sonne of Hadlai, stood vp against them that came from the warre,
13 Ne babagamba nti, “Temujja kuleeta basibe abo wano, kubanga mujja kutuleetako omusango eri Mukama nga mwongereza ku kibi ne ku musango bye tulina. Omusango gwaffe munene, n’obusungu bwe buli ku Isirayiri.”
And said vnto them, Bring not in the captiues hither: for this shalbe a sinne vpon vs against the Lord: ye entende to adde more to our sinnes and to our trespasse, though our trespasse be great, and the fierce wrath of God is against Israel.
14 Awo abaserikale ne basumulula abasibe, n’omunyago ne baguwaayo mu maaso g’abakungu n’ekibiina kyonna.
So the armie left the captiues and the spoyle before the princes and all the Congregation.
15 Ne balonda abasajja abaatwala abasibe ne baggya engoye mu munyago ne bambaza abo bonna abaali obwereere, ne babawa engoye endala, n’engatto, ne babawa emmere n’ekyokunywa, ne babanyiga n’ebiwundu. N’abaali abanafu ennyo bonna ne babasitulira ku ndogoyi, ne babazzaayo eri baganda baabwe e Yeriko, ekibuga eky’enkindu, bo ne bakomawo e Samaliya.
And the men that were named by name, rose vp and tooke the prisoners, and with the spoyle clothed all that were naked among them, and arayed them, and shod them, and gaue them meate, and gaue them drinke, and anoynted them, and caryed all that were feeble of them vpon asses, and brought them to Iericho the citie of Palme trees to their brethren: so they returned to Samaria.
16 Awo mu biro ebyo kabaka Akazi n’asaba kabaka w’e Bwasuli amuyambe,
At that time did King Ahaz sende vnto the Kings of Asshur, to helpe him.
17 kubanga Abayedomu baali bazeemu okulumba Yuda, ne batwala abantu mu busibe.
(For the Edomites came moreouer, and slew of Iudah, and caryed away captiues.
18 Mu kiseera kyekimu Abafirisuuti baali balumbye ebibuga eby’omu nsenyi n’eby’omu bukiikaddyo obwa Yuda, nga bawambye Besusemesi, ne Ayalooni, ne Gederosi, ne Soko, ne Timuna, ne Gimuzo n’ebyalo ebyali byetoolodde ebibuga ebyo, era ng’omwo mwe babeera.
The Philistims also inuaded the cities in the low countrey, and toward the South of Iudah, and tooke Bethshemesh, and Aialon, and Gederoth and Shocho, with the villages thereof, and Timnah, with her villages, and Gimzo, with her villages, and they dwelt there.
19 Mukama yakkakkanya nnyo Yuda olw’ebibi n’obutali bwesigwa bwa Akazi kabaka wa Isirayiri eri Mukama, Akazi bye yakola mu Yuda.
For the Lord had humbled Iudah, because of Ahaz King of Israel: for he had brought vengeance vpon Iudah, and had grieuously transgressed against the Lord)
20 Tirugazupiruneseri kabaka w’e Bwasuli n’ajja gy’ali, n’amucocca mu kifo eky’okumuyamba.
And Tilgath Pilneeser king of Asshur came vnto him, who troubled him and did not strengthen him.
21 Akazi n’aggya ebimu ku bintu ebyali mu yeekaalu ya Mukama, ne ku ebyo ebyali mu lubiri lwa kabaka, ne ku bya balangira n’abiwa kabaka w’e Bwasuli; naye ekyo ne kitamuyamba.
For Ahaz tooke a portion out of the house of the Lord and out of the Kings house and of the Princes, and gaue vnto the king of Asshur: yet it helped him not.
22 Mu kiseera ekyo kabaka Akazi we yalabira ennyo ennaku, yeeyongera obutaba mwesigwa eri Mukama.
And in ye time of his tribulation did he yet trespasse more against ye Lord, (this is King Ahaz)
23 N’awangayo ssaddaaka eri bakatonda b’e Ddamasiko, abaali bamuwangudde, kubanga yalowooza nti, “Engeri bakatonda ba bakabaka b’e Busuuli bwe babayambye, nnaawaayo ssaddaaka gye bali, nange bannyambe.” Naye okwo kwe kwali okuzikirira kwe n’okwa Isirayiri yenna.
For he sacrificed vnto the gods of Damascus, which plagued him, and he sayd, Because the gods of the Kings of Aram helped them, I wil sacrifice vnto them, and they will helpe me: yet they were his ruine, and of all Israel.
24 Akazi n’akuŋŋaanya ebintu eby’omu yeekaalu ya Katonda, n’abiggyamu, n’aggalawo enzigi za yeekaalu ya Mukama, ne yeezimbira ebyoto mu buli nsonda mu Yerusaalemi.
And Ahaz gathered the vessels of ye house of God, and brake the vessels of the house of God, and shut vp the doores of the house of the Lord, and made him altars in euery corner of Ierusalem.
25 Mu buli kibuga kya Yuda n’azimbamu ebifo ebigulumivu okuwerangayo ssaddaaka eri bakatonda abalala, n’asunguwaza Mukama Katonda wa bajjajjaabe.
And in euery citie of Iudah hee made hie places, to burne incense vnto other gods, and prouoked to anger the Lord God of his fathers.
26 Ebyafaayo ebirala eby’omu mulembe gwe n’empisa ze zonna, okuva ku ntandikwa okutuusa ku nkomerero, byawandiikibwa mu kitabo kya bassekabaka ba Yuda ne Isirayiri.
Concerning the rest of his actes, and all his wayes first and last, beholde, they are written in the booke of the Kings of Iudah, and Israel.
27 Akazi n’afa n’aziikibwa mu kibuga kya Yerusaalemi, naye si mu masiro ga bassekabaka ba Isirayiri. Keezeekiya mutabani we n’amusikira.
And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the citie of Ierusalem, but brought him not vnto the sepulchres of the Kings of Israel: and Hezekiah his sonne reigned in his stead.
