1 Abantu ab’omu Yerusaalemi ne bafuula Akaziya, mutabani wa Yekolaamu omuggalanda, kabaka, kubanga abasajja abanyazi abajja n’Abawalabu baali bamaze okutta abaana be bonna abakulu. Awo Akaziya mutabani wa Yekolaamu n’atandika okufuga Yuda.
And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ochozias his youngest son king in his stead: for the band of robbers that came against them, even the Arabians and the Alimazonians, had slain all the elder ones. So Ochozias son of Joram king of Juda reigned.
2 Akaziya yalina emyaka amakumi ana mu ebiri bwe yatandika okufuga, era n’afugira omwaka gumu mu Yerusaalemi. Erinnya lya nnyina yali Asaliya, muzzukulu wa Omuli.
Ochozias began to reign when he was twenty years old, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Gotholia, the daughter of Ambri.
3 Ne Akaziya n’atambulira mu makubo ag’ennyumba ya Akabu, kubanga nnyina yamupikirizanga okukola ebibi.
And he walked in the way of the house of Achaab; for his mother was his counsellor to do evil.
4 N’akola ebibi mu maaso ga Mukama, ng’ennyumba ya Akabu bwe yakola, kubanga oluvannyuma olw’okufa kwa kitaawe be baamuwabyanga, okukola ebikyamu.
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord as the house of Achaab [had done]: for they were his counsellors after the death of his father to his destruction.
5 Era naye yagobereranga ebirowoozo byabwe, era n’agenda ne Yekolaamu, mutabani wa Akabu kabaka wa Isirayiri okutabaala Kazayeeri kabaka w’e Busuuli e Lamosugireyaadi. Abasuuli ne bafumita Yolaamu ebiwundu
And he walked in their counsels, and he went with Joram son of Achaab king of Israel to war against Azael king of Syria to Ramoth Galaad: and the archers struck Joram.
6 era n’addayo e Yezuleeri okujjanjabibwa ebiwundu bye yali afunidde e Laama, bwe yali ng’alwana ne Kazayeeri kabaka w’e Busuuli. Awo Akaziya mutabani wa Yekolaamu kabaka wa Yuda n’agenda okulaba ku Yolaamu mutabani wa Akabu olw’ebisago ebyali bimutuusibbwako.
And Joram returned to Jezrael to be healed of the wounds wherewith the Syrians struck him in Ramoth, when he fought against Azael king of Syria. And Ochozias son of Joram, king of Juda, went down to see Joram the son of Achaab at Jezrael because he was sick.
7 Naye kyali kyategekebwa Katonda, nti okugwa kwa Akaziya kulimutuukako ng’akyalidde Yolaamu. Awo Akaziya bwe yatuuka eyo, n’agenda ne Yolaamu okusisinkana Yeeku mutabani wa Nimusu, Mukama gwe yali afuseeko amafuta okuzikiriza ennyumba ya Akabu.
And destruction from God came upon Ochozias in [his] coming to Joram; for when he had come, Joram went out with him against Jeu the son of Namessei, the anointed of the Lord against the house of Achaab.
8 Awo Yeeku bwe yali ng’asalira ennyumba ya Akabu omusango, n’asanga abakungu ba Yuda, ne batabani ba baganda ba Akaziya, abaaweerezanga Akaziya, n’abatta.
And it came to pass, when Jeu was taking vengeance on the house of Achaab, that he found the princes of Juda and the brethren of Ochozias ministering to Ochozias, and he killed them.
9 N’oluvannyuma n’anoonya Akaziya, era abasajja be ne bamuwambira e Samaliya gye yali yeekwese, n’aleetebwa ewa Yeeku n’attibwa. Ne bamuziika nga boogera nti, “Ono ye muzzukulu wa Yekosafaati, eyanoonya Mukama, n’omutima gwe gwonna.” Era mu nnyumba ya Akaziya ne wataba n’omu eyayinza okusikira obwakabaka.
And he gave orders to seek Ochozias: and they took him while he was healing his wounds in Samaria, and they brought him to Jeu, and he killed him; and they buried him, for they said, He is the son of Josaphat, who sought the Lord with all his heart. So there was none in the house of Ochozias to secure their power in the kingdom.
10 Awo Asaliya, nnyina Akaziya bwe yalaba nga mutabani we afudde, n’asitula olutalo era n’azikiriza ennyumba yonna ey’obwakabaka bwa Yuda.
And Gotholia the mother of Ochozias saw that her son was dead, and she arose and destroyed all the seed royal in the house of Juda.
11 Naye Yekosabeyaasi, muwala wa kabaka Yekolaamu, n’abba Yowaasi mutabani wa Akaziya okuva mu balangira abaali bagenda okuttibwa, n’amukweka ye n’omukozi we mu kimu ku bisenge. Awo Yekosabeyaasi muwala wa kabaka Yekolaamu, ate nga ye yali mukyala wa Yekoyaada kabona, n’akweka omwana, Asaliya aleme okumutta. Yekosabeyaasi, yali mwannyina Akaziya.
But Josabeeth, the daughter of the king, took Joas the son of Ochozias and rescued him secretly out of the midst of the sons of the king that were put to death, and she placed him and his nurse in a bedchamber. So Josabeeth daughter of king Joram, sister of Ochozias, wife of Jodae the priest, hid him, and she [even] hid him from Gotholia, and she did not kill him.
12 Omwana n’akwekebwa okumala emyaka mukaaga mu nnyumba ya Katonda, nga Asaliya y’afuga ensi.
And he was with him hid in the house of God six years; and Gotholia reigned over the land.
