2 Ebyomumirembe 17
1 Yekosafaati mutabani wa Asa n’asikira Asa bw’atyo n’afuuka kabaka, n’okwenyweza ne yeenyweza eri Isirayiri.
And Jehoshaphat his son reigneth in his stead, and he strengtheneth himself against Israel,
2 N’ateeka abaserikale mu bibuga ebiriko bbugwe ebya Yuda, n’ateeka n’eggye mu Yuda, ne mu bibuga ebya Efulayimu, kitaawe Asa bye yali awambye.
and putteth a force in all the fenced cities of Judah, and putteth garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim that Asa his father had captured.
3 Mukama n’abeera wamu ne Yekosafaati kubanga mu buto bwe yatambuliranga mu makubo ga jjajjaawe Dawudi ge yatambulirangamu. Teyeebuuza ku Babaali,
And Jehovah is with Jehoshaphat, for he hath walked in the first ways of David his father, and hath not sought to Baalim,
4 naye yanoonya Katonda wa kitaawe, era n’agoberera amateeka ge okusinga engeri za Isirayiri.
for to the God of his father he hath sought, and in His commands he hath walked, and not according to the work of Israel.
5 Mukama n’anyweza obwakabaka mu mukono gwe, era Yuda yenna ne baleetera Yekosafaati ebirabo, n’aba n’obugagga bungi n’ekitiibwa kinene.
And Jehovah doth establish the kingdom in his hand, and all Judah give a present to Jehoshaphat, and he hath riches and honour in abundance,
6 Omutima gwe ne gunywerera mu kkubo lya Mukama, n’okuggyawo n’aggyawo ebifo ebigulumivu n’ebifaananyi bya Baasera mu Yuda.
and his heart is high in the ways of Jehovah, and again he hath turned aside the high places and the shrines out of Judah.
7 Mu mwaka ogwokusatu ogw’obufuzi bwe, n’atuma abakungu be bano: Benikayiri, ne Obadiya, ne Zekkaliya, ne Nesaneeri, ne Mikaaya okugenda nga bayigiriza mu bibuga bya Yuda.
And in the third year of his reign he hath sent for his heads, for Ben-Hail, and for Obadiah, and for Zechariah, and for Nethaneel, and for Michaiah, to teach in cities of Judah,
8 Ne wabaawo n’Abaleevi abagenda nabo: Semaaya, ne Nesaniya, ne Zebadiya, ne Asakeri, ne Semiramoosi, ne Yekonasaani, ne Adoniya, ne Tobbiya, ne Tobadoniya, wamu ne Erisaama ne Yekolaamu.
and with them the Levites, Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijath, and Tob-Adonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.
9 Ne bayigiriza mu Yuda yonna, nga bakozesa Ekitabo ekya Mateeka ga Mukama; ne babuna mu bibuga byonna ebya Yuda ne bayigiriza abantu.
And they teach in Judah, and with them [is] the Book of the Law of Jehovah, and they go round about into all cities of Judah, and teach among the people.
10 Awo entiisa ya Mukama n’egwa ku bwakabaka obw’amawanga agaali geetoolodde Yuda, ne batakola ntalo na Yekosafaati.
And here is a fear of Jehovah on all kingdoms of the lands that [are] round about Judah, and they have not fought with Jehoshaphat;
11 Abamu ku Bafirisuuti ne baleetera Yekosafaati ebirabo, ne ffeeza ng’omusolo, ate Abawalabu ne bamuleetera ebisibo eby’endiga ennume kasanvu mu lusanvu, n’embuzi kasanvu mu lusanvu.
and of the Philistines they are bringing in to Jehoshaphat a present, and tribute silver; also, the Arabians are bringing to him a flock, rams seven thousand an seven hundred, and he-goats seven thousand and seven hundred.
12 Yekosafaati ne yeeyongeranga amaanyi, n’azimba ebigo n’ebibuga eby’amaterekero mu Yuda,
And Jehoshaphat is going on and becoming very great, and he buildeth in Judah palaces and cities of store,
13 n’abeera n’ebyamaguzi bingi ddala mu bibuga bya Yuda. Yalina n’abaserikale abatendeke mu Yerusaalemi nga bazira.
and he hath much work in cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty of valour, [are] in Jerusalem.
14 Okubalibwa ng’enju za bakitaabwe bwe zaali kwali bwe kuti: Okuva mu Yuda, abaduumizi ab’ebibinja eby’olukumi baali: Aduna omuduumizi ow’abasajja abalwanyi emitwalo amakumi asatu,
And these [are] their numbers, for the house of their fathers: Of Judah, heads of thousands, Adnah the head, and with him mighty ones of valour, three hundred chiefs.
15 n’eyamuddiriranga yali Yekokanani omuduumizi ow’abasajja emitwalo amakumi abiri mu munaana;
And at his hand [is] Jehohanan the head, and with him two hundred and eighty chiefs.
16 n’eyamuddiriranga yali Amasiya mutabani wa Zikuli, eyeewaayo obwebange okuweerezanga Mukama, omuduumizi ow’abasajja emitwalo amakumi abiri.
And at his hand [is] Amasiah son of Zichri, who is willingly offering himself to Jehovah, and with him two hundred chiefs, mighty of valour.
17 Okuva mu Benyamini: Eriyada, omuserikale omuzira, eyaduumiranga abasajja ab’obusaale n’engabo emitwalo amakumi abiri,
And of Benjamin: mighty of valour, Eliada, and with him, armed with bow and shield, two hundred chiefs.
18 n’eyamuddiriranga ye yali Yekozabadi eyaduumiranga abasajja emitwalo kkumi na munaana abaali beeteeseteese okulwana.
And at his hand [is] Jehozabad, and with him a hundred and eighty chiefs, armed ones of the host.
19 Abo be basajja abaaweerezanga kabaka, obutassaako abo abaali mu bibuga ebyaliko bbugwe n’ebigo okubuna Yuda yonna.
These [are] those serving the king, apart from those whom the king put in the cities of fortress, in all Judah.
