< 1 Abakkolinso 14 >

1 Mugobererenga okwagala era muluubirirenga ebirabo eby’Omwoyo, na ddala ekirabo eky’okwogera eby’obunnabbi.
Follow after divine love; and seek the spiritual gifts, but rather that you may prophesy.
2 Kubanga ayogera mu nnimi tayogera n’abantu, wabula ayogera na Katonda. Kubanga tewali n’omu ategeera by’agamba. Aba ayogera bya kyama mu Mwoyo.
For the one speaking with a tongue speaks not to men, but to God; for no one hears him; but he speaks mysteries in the spirit:
3 Naye oyo ategeeza abantu eby’obunnabbi ayogera ebibazimba, ebibagumya era n’okubazzaamu amaanyi.
but the one prophesying speaks to men edification, exhortation, and comfort.
4 Ayogera ennimi yeezimba yekka, naye oyo ayogera eby’obunnabbi azimba ekibiina kyonna eky’abakkiriza.
The one speaking with a tongue edifies himself; but the one prophesying edifies the church.
5 Nandyagadde mwenna mwogere mu nnimi, naye ekisingira ddala nandyagadde mwenna mwogere eby’obunnabbi, kubanga ayogera eby’obunnabbi akira oyo ayogera mu nnimi, okuggyako nga waliwo avvuunula, Ekkanisa eryoke egasibwe.
But I wish you all to speak with tongues, but rather that you may prophesy: but greater is the one prophesying, than the one speaking with tongues, unless he may interpret, in order that the church may receive edification.
6 Kale kaakano, abooluganda, bwe nzija gye muli ne njogera mu nnimi mbagasa ntya? Naye bwe mbategeeza ebyo Katonda by’ambikulidde oba bye njize mu kutegeera, oba eby’obunnabbi, oba bye njigiriza, olwo mmanyi nga mbagasa.
But now, brethren, if I may come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, unless I shall speak to you either in revelation, or knowledge, or prophecy, or in instruction?
7 Era n’ebivuga ebitalina bulamu, ng’endere oba ennanga, bwe bitavuga mu maloboozi gategeerekeka, omuntu ayinza atya okutegeera oluyimba olufuuyibwa oba olukubibwa?
Nevertheless things without life, giving forth a voice, whether pipe or harp, if it may not give a distinction to the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped, or what is harped?
8 Era singa omufuuyi w’eŋŋombe tafuuwa ddoboozi Iitegeerekeka, ani ayinza okweteekerateekera olutalo?
For if indeed the trumpet may give an uncertain sound, who will prepare himself for the war?
9 Mu ngeri y’emu, bwe mwogera n’omuntu mu lulimi lw’atamanyi, asobola atya okutegeera kye mugamba? Muba mwogeredde bwereere.
Thus also if you through the tongue may give an indistinct word, how will that which is spoken be known? for you will be speaking into the air.
10 Weewaawo waliwo ennimi nnyingi mu nsi, era zonna zirina amakulu.
If it so happens that there are so many kinds of voices in the world, and nothing without a voice;
11 Naye omuntu bw’ayogera olulimi lwe simanyi, aba ng’omugwira gye ndi, nange mba ng’omugwira gy’ali.
if then I do not understand the power of the voice, I will be a barbarian to the one speaking, and the one speaking will be a barbarian to me.
12 Bwe mutyo nga bwe mwegomba okufuna ebirabo eby’Omwoyo, mufubenga nnyo mulyoke musobole okuzimba Ekkanisa ya Kristo.
So also you, since you are zealots of spirits, seek that you may abound unto the edification of the church.
13 Kale buli ayogera mu lulimi asabe Katonda amusobozese okuluvvuunula.
Therefore let the one speaking with a tongue, pray that one may interpret.
14 Kubanga bwe nsaba Katonda mu lulimi lwe sitegeera, omwoyo gwange gusaba, naye sibaako kye nganyulwa.
For if I pray with a tongue, my spirit is praying, but my mind is not fruitful.
15 Kale kino ki? Nnaasinzanga Katonda n’omwoyo gwange awamu n’amagezi gange era nnaayimbanga mu mwoyo gwange awamu n’amagezi gange.
Then what is it? I will pray with my spirit, and I will pray with my mind also: I will sing with my spirit, and I will sing with my mind also.
16 Kubanga bw’otendereza Katonda mu mwoyo gwo, omuntu atategeera ky’ogamba ayinza atya okuddamu nti, “Amiina!” ng’omaliriza okwebaza, ng’ebigambo ebyebazizza tabitegedde?
Since if you may bless with the spirit, how will one occupying the place of the unlearned say Amen to your blessing? since he does not know what you are saying.
17 Weewaawo oyinza okuba nga weebazizza Katonda, naye omulala nga tagasibbwa.
For you indeed bless beautifully, but the other is not edified.
18 Neebaza Katonda kubanga njogera ennimi okubasinga mwenna.
I thank God, I speak with tongue more than you all:
19 Naye mu lukuŋŋaana njagala njogere n’amagezi gange ebigambo bitaano abalala bye bategeera nga mbayigiriza, okusinga okwogera ebigambo omutwalo mu nnimi, bye bataategeere.
but I would rather speak five words in the church with my understanding, so that I may indeed teach others, than ten thousand words in a tongue.
20 Abooluganda, temulowooza bya kito. Mube ng’abaana abato ku bikwata ku kukola ebibi, mube bakulu mu kulowooza kwammwe.
Brethren, be not children in intellect: but be infants in evil, but be perfect in intellect.
21 Era kyawandiikibwa mu mateeka nti, “Ndyogera n’abantu bano mu nnimi endala, n’emimwa egy’abalala, naye era tebalimpulira, bw’ayogera Mukama.”
It has been written in the law; I will speak to this people with other tongues and with the lips of others; and thus they will not hearken unto me, says the Lord.
22 Noolwekyo ennimi kyeziva ziba akabonero, si eri abo abakkiriza naye eri abo abatali bakkiriza, naye okutegeeza obunnabbi kw’abo abakkiriza so si abo abatali bakkiriza.
So tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to the unbelievers: and prophecy is not for the unbelievers, but for the believers.
23 Kale singa Ekkanisa ekuŋŋaana bonna ne boogera mu nnimi abatamanyi oba abatali bakkiriza ne bayingira, tebagamba nti mulaluse?
Then if the whole church may come together, and all may speak with tongues, and the unlearned or unbelievers may come in, will they not say that you are gone mad?
24 Naye singa bonna boogera eby’obunnabbi, atali mukkiriza oba atamanyi n’ayingira, ebyo ebyogerebwa byonna, bijja kumuleetera okulumirizibwa olw’ebibi bye, yeesalire omusango,
But if all may prophesy, and some unbeliever or unlearned person may come in, he is convicted by all, he is discerned by all;
25 ebyama by’omu mutima gwe bibikkulwe, alyoke afukamire asinze Katonda, nga bw’agamba nti, “Ddala Katonda ali mu mmwe.”
the secrets of his heart are made manifest; and thus falling upon his face he will worship God, proclaiming that God is truly in you.
26 Kale abooluganda tugambe tutya? Bwe mukuŋŋaana buli omu aba ne zabbuli, oba eky’okuyigiriza, oba ekyo Katonda ky’amubikkulidde, oba okwogera mu nnimi, oba okuvvuunula. Ebyo byonna bisaana bikolebwe olw’okuzimba Ekkanisa ya Katonda.
Then what is it, brethren? When you may come together, each one has a psalm, has a lesson, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done to edification.
27 Singa wabaawo aboogera mu nnimi bandyogedde babiri, oba obutasussa basatu, era nga boogera mu mpalo, ate wabeewo n’avvuunula.
If one speaks with a tongue, let it he by twos, or at most by threes, and separately; and let one interpret;
28 Naye bwe watabaawo avvuunula omwogezi w’ennimi asirike busirisi mu Kkanisa wabula ayogerere munda ye ne Katonda.
but if there may be no interpreter, let him keep silent in the church; but let him speak to himself, and to God.
29 Kyokka abo aboogera eby’obunnabbi boogerenga babiri oba basatu, ng’abalala bafumiitiriza ku ebyo ebyogerwa.
But let two or three prophets speak, and let the others give audience;
30 Naye singa omu ku batudde abikkulirwa ekigambo kya Katonda, oyo abadde ayogera asirikenga.
but if something may be revealed to another sitting down, let the first be silent.
31 Kubanga mwenna musobola okwogera eby’obunnabbi nga mwogera mu mpalo, bonna balyoke bayige era bongerwemu amaanyi.
For you are all able to prophesy one by one, in order that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
32 Abalina omwoyo ogw’obunnabbi bafugibwa bannabbi,
Truly the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets;
33 kubanga Katonda si wa luyoogaano, wabula wa mirembe. Kale nga bwe kiri mu Kkanisa z’abatukuvu zonna,
for he is not a God of confusion, but of peace. So in all the churches of the saints,
34 abakazi basirikenga busirisi mu kuŋŋaaniro, kubanga tebakkirizibwa kwogera, wabula okukulemberwa ng’amateeka bwe gagamba.
let the women be silent in the churches: for it is not permitted to them to talk; but let them be subordinate, as the law also says.
35 Bwe wabangawo kye baagala okubuuza babuuzenga ba bbaabwe eka, kubanga kya nsonyi omukazi okwogera mu Kkanisa.
But if they wish to learn something, let them ask their own husbands at home: for it is disgraceful for a woman to talk in church.
36 Kale mulowooza nti ekigambo kya Katonda kyatandikira mu mmwe oba nti mmwe be kyatuukako mwekka?
Whether did the word of God come out from you? or has it reached unto you alone?
37 Omuntu yenna alowooza okuba nnabbi oba omuntu ow’omwoyo, ategeere mu bujjuvu nti bino bye mbawandiikira kye kiragiro kya Mukama.
If any one seems to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him understand the things which I write to you, that they are of the Lord;
38 Naye omuntu yenna atabifaako naye si wa kufiibwako.
but if any one ignores, he is ignored.
39 Kale baganda bange muyaayaanirenga okwogera eby’obunnabbi, kyokka okwogera mu nnimi temukuziyiza.
So, my brethren, be zealous to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues;
40 Naye byonna bikolebwenga nga bwe kisaana era mu ntegeka entuufu.
but let all things be done decently and in order.
