1 Eggwanga lyonna erya Isirayiri lyabalibwa ng’okuzaalibwa kwabwe bwe kwali era ne bawandiikibwa mu kitabo ky’ebyafaayo bya bassekabaka ba Isirayiri. Olw’okukola ebibi mu maaso ga Mukama, abantu ba Yuda nabo baatwalibwa mu buwaŋŋanguse.

And, all Israel, registered themselves, and lo! they are written, in the Book of the Kings of Israel, and, Judah, was carried away captive to Babylon, for their faithlessness.

2 Abaasooka okubeera ewaabwe mu bibuga byabwe be baali Abayisirayiri abamu, ne bakabona, n’Abaleevi, n’abalala abaaweerezanga mu yeekaalu.

Now, the first inhabitants, who were in their possessions, in their cities, were Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the Nethinim.

3 Abamu ku abo abaabeeranga mu Yerusaalemi nga bava mu Yuda, ne Benyamini, ne Efulayimu ne Manase baali:

And, in Jerusalem, there dwelt, of the sons of Judah, and of the sons of Benjamin, —and of the sons of Ephraim, and Manasseh:

4 Usayi mutabani wa Ammikudi, muzzukulu wa Omuli, muzzukulu wa Imuli, muzzukulu wa Bani, muzzukulu wa Pereezi, mutabani wa Yuda.

Uthai son of Ammihud, son of Omri, son of Imri, son of Bani, of the sons of Perez, son of Judah.

5 Ku Basiiro, Asaya omuggulanda mu nnyumba ye, wamu ne batabani be.

And, of the Shilonites, Asaiah the firstborn, and his sons.

6 Ku bazzukulu ba Zeera, Yeweri n’ab’omu kika kye okuva mu Yuda abantu lukaaga mu kyenda.

And, of the sons of Zerah, Jeuel, —and their brethren, six hundred and ninety.

7 Ku bazzukulu ba Benyamini, Sallu mutabani wa Mesullamu, muzzukulu wa Kodaviya, muzzukulu wa Kassenuwa,

And, of the sons of Benjamin, Sallu, son of Meshullam, son of Hodaviah, son of Hassenuah;

8 ne Ibuneya mutabani wa Yerokamu, ne Era mutabani wa Uzzi, muzzukulu wa Mikuli, ne Mesullamu mutabani wa Sefatiya, muzzukulu wa Leweri, muzzukulu wa Ibuniya.

and Ibneiah, son of Jeroham, and Elah, son of Uzzi, son of Michri, —and Meshullam, son of Shephatiah, son of Reuel, son of Ibnijah;

9 Abantu b’omu kika kya Benyamini, baali bawera lwenda mu ataano mu mukaaga, ate nga bonna bakulu ba nda zaabwe.

and their brethren, by their generations, nine hundred and fifty-six, —all these men, were ancestral chiefs, to their ancestral house.

10 Ku bakabona abaakomawo kwaliko Yedaya, ne Yekoyalibu, ne Yakini,

And, of the priests, Jedaiah, and Jehoiarib, and Jachin, —

11 ne Azaliya mutabani wa Kirukiya, muzzukulu wa Mesullamu, muzzukulu wa Zadooki, muzzukulu wa Merayoosi, muzzukulu wa Akituubu, omukulu eyavunaanyizibwanga ennyumba ya Katonda;

and Azariah son of Hilkiah, son of Meshullam, son of Zadok, son of Meraioth, son of Ahitub, chief ruler of the house of God;

12 ne Adaaya mutabani wa Yerokamu, muzzukulu wa Pasukuli, muzzukulu wa Malukiya, ne Maasayi mutabani wa Adyeri, muzzukulu wa Yazera, muzzukulu wa Mesullamu, muzzukulu wa Mesiremisi, muzzukulu wa Immeri.

and Adaiah, son of Jeroham, son of Pashhur, son of Malchijah, —and Maasai son of Adiel, son of Jahzerah, son of Meshullam, son of Meshillemith, son of Immer;

13 Bakabona abaali abakulu b’enda zaabwe baali lukumi mu lusanvu mu nkaaga. Baali basajja babuvunaanyizibwa mu buweereza bwabwe mu nnyumba ya Katonda.

and their brethren, chief men of their ancestral house, a thousand and seven hundred and sixty, —able men, for the business of the service of the house of God.

14 Ku baleevi kwaliko: Semaaya mutabani wa Kassubu, muzzukulu wa Azulikamu, muzzukulu wa Kasabiya, omu ku b’enda ya Merali,

And, of the Levites, Shemaiah, son of Hasshub, son of Azrikam, son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari;

15 ne Bakubakkali, ne Keresi, ne Galali ne Mattaniya mutabani wa Mikka, muzzukulu wa Zikuli, muzzukulu wa Asafu,

and Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal, —and Mattaniah, son of Mica, son of Zichri, son of Asaph;

16 ne Obadiya mutabani wa Semaaya, muzzukulu wa Galali, muzzukulu wa Yedusuni; ne Berekiya mutabani wa Asa, muzzukulu wa Erukaana, eyabeeranga mu byalo eby’Abanetofa.

and Obadiah, son of Shemaiah, son of Galal, son of Jeduthun, —and Berechiah son of Asa, son of Elkanah, who dwelt in the villages of the Netophathites.

17 Abaggazi ba wankaaki baali, Sallumu, ne Akabu, ne Talumoni, ne Akimaani ne baganda baabwe abalala, era mukulu waabwe ye yali Sallumu;

And, the keepers of the gates, were Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, —and their brethren—Shallum the chief;

18 be baayimiriranga ku ludda olw’ebuvanjuba olwa wankaaki ya Kabaka, era gwe mulimu gwabwe n’okutuusa leero. Abo be baali abaggazi ab’omu kika ky’Abaleevi.

and, hitherto, they were in the gate of the king, eastward, —the same, were the keepers of the gate, for the camps of the sons of Levi.

19 Sallumu yali mutabani wa Koole, muzzukulu wa Ebiyasaafu, muzzukulu wa Koola, ne ab’omu nnyumba ya kitaawe be baavunaanyizibwanga okukuuma enzigi za yeekaalu nga bajjajjaabwe nabo bwe baavunaanyizibwanga omulyango gw’ekifo Mukama gy’abeera.

And, Shallum, son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah and his brethren of his ancestral house—the Korahites, were over the business of the service, watchers at the vestibule of the tent, —and, their fathers, had been over the camp of Yahweh, watchers at the entrance.

20 Finekaasi mutabani wa Eriyazaali ye yakuliranga abaggazi mu biro eby’edda, era Mukama n’abeeranga wamu naye.

And, Phinehas son of Eleazar, was, chief ruler, over them aforetime, Yahweh, being with him.

21 Zekkaliya mutabani wa Meseremiya ye yali omuggazi ku mulyango gw’Eweema ey’Okukuŋŋaanirangamu.

Zechariah son of Meshelemiah, was door-keeper at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

22 Bonna awamu, abaalondebwa okuba abaggazi b’emiryango baali bibiri mu kkumi na babiri, era baali baawandiikibwa mu byalo byabwe ng’okuzaalibwa kwabwe bwe kwali. Dawudi ne nnabbi Samwiri be bayawula emirimu gy’abaggazi nga bwe gyali.

All those who were chosen for door-keepers in the vestibule, were two hundred and twelve, —the same, in their villages, had registered themselves, the same, did David and Samuel the seer establish in their trust.

23 Bo ne bazzukulu baabwe, be baavunaanyizibwanga okukuuma enzigi z’ennyumba ya Mukama, ennyumba eyayitibwanga Eweema.

So, they and their sons, were over the gates of the house of Yahweh, of the house of the tent, by watches.

24 Abaggazi baabeeranga ku njuyi ennya, olw’ebuvanjuba, olw’ebugwanjuba, olw’obukiikakkono, n’olwobukiikaddyo,

Towards the four winds, were the keepers of the gates, —eastward, westward, northward, and southward.

25 era baganda baabwe okuva mu byalo byabwe, bajjanga mu mpalo ne bakumanga okumala ebbanga kya nnaku musanvu.

And, their brethren in their villages, had to come in, every seven days, from time to time, along with these.

26 Abaggazi abana, abaali Abaleevi, be baaweebwa obuvunaanyizibwa okulabiriranga ebisenge eby’omunda n’amawanika ag’omu nnyumba ya Katonda.

For, in trust, were four mighty men of the keepers of the gates, the same, were Levites, —and they were over the chambers, and over the treasuries of the house of God.

27 Baasulanga okuliraana ne nnyumba ya Katonda kubanga be baagikuumanga, era nga buli nkya be bavunaanyizibwa okugiggalawo.

And, round about the house of God, used they to lodge, —for, upon them, was the charge, and they were over the setting open, morning by morning.

28 Abamu ku bo baavunaanyizibwanga okukuuma ebintu ebyakozesebwanga mu kuweereza mu yeekaalu, era nga be babala ennyingiza yaabyo ne nfulumya yaabyo.

And, some from among them, were over the utensils of the service, —for, by number, used they to bring them in, and, by number, used they to take them forth.

29 Abalala baavunaanyizibwanga okulabirira ebikozesebwa mu mirimu n’ebintu byonna eby’omu watukuvu, era nga be bavunaanyizibwa okulabirira obutta obulungi, n’omwenge, n’amafuta, n’omugavu, n’ebyakaloosa.

And, some from among them, were appointed over the utensils, yea over all the vessels of the holy place, —and over the fine meal, and the wine, and the oil, and the frankincense, and the spices.

30 Wabula abamu ku bakabona baategekanga byakaloosa.

And, some from among the sons of the priests, were compounders of perfumes, with the spices.

31 Mattisiya mutabani wa Sallumu Omukoola, ate nga y’omu ku Baleevi, ye yavunaanyizibwanga okufumba emigaati gy’ebiweebwayo,

And, Mattithiah, from among the Levites, —the same, was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite—was in trust over the making of the flat cakes.

32 era abamu ku baganda b’Abakokasi baavunaanyizibwanga okussanga emigaati egya buli ssabbiiti ku mmeeza.

And, some from among the Kohathites, of their brethren, were over the Bread that was set in Array, —to place it sabbath by sabbath.

33 Abayimbi, abakulu b’ekika ky’Abaleevi baasulanga mu bisenge eby’omunda wa Yeekaalu, era nga tebakola mulimu mulala gwonna emisana n’ekiro okuggyako ogwo ogwabwe omutongole.

These, also were the singers, ancestral chiefs of the Levites, in the chambers, free, —for, by day and by night, was there [a charge] upon them, in the business.

34 Abo bonna baali bakulu b’enda ez’Abaleevi, nga bwe baawandiikibwa mu kuzaalibwa kwabwe, era baabeeranga mu Yerusaalemi.

These, were the ancestral chiefs, of the Levites, by their generations, chief men, —these, dwelt in Jerusalem.

35 Yeyeri kitaawe wa Gibyoni era yatulanga mu Gibyoni, n’erinnya lya mukyala we nga ye Maaka,

And, in Gibeon, dwelt the father of Gibeon, Jeiel, —the name of whose wife, was Maacah:

36 ne mutabani waabwe omuggulanda yali Abudoni, Zuuli n’amuddirira, Kiisi n’addako, Baali n’addako, Neeri n’addako, Nadabu n’addako,

and, his firstborn son, Abdon, —and Zur, and Kish, and Baal and Ner, and Nadab;

37 ne Gedoli n’addako, Akiyo n’addako, Zekkaliya n’addako, Mikuloosi n’asembayo.

and Gedor, and Ahio, and Zechariah, and Mikloh.

38 Mikuloosi yazaala Simyamu, era nabo baabeeranga kumpi ne baganda baabwe mu Yerusaalemi.

And, Mikloth, begat Shimeam—and, they also, over against their brethren, did dwell in Jerusalem, along with their brethren.

39 Neeri n’azaala Kiisi, Kiisi n’azaala Sawulo. Sawulo n’azaala Yonasaani, ne Malukisuwa, ne Abinadaabu ne Esubaali.

And, Ner, begat Kith, and, Kish, begat Saul, —and, Saul, begat Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Eshbaal;

40 Mutabani wa Yonasaani ye yali Meribubaali, ne Meribubaali n’azaala Mikka.

and, the son of Jonathan, was Merib-baal, —and, Merib-baal, begat Micah;

41 Batabani ba Mikka baali Pisoni, ne Mereki, ne Taleya ne Akazi.

and, the sons of Micah, were Pithon, and Melech, and Tahrea [and Ahaz];

42 Akazi n’azaala Yala, Yala n’azaala Alemesi, ne Azumavesi ne Zimuli, ate Zimuli n’azaala Moza.

and, Ahaz, begat Jarah, and, Jarah begat Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri, —and Zimri, begat Moza;

43 Moza n’azaala Bineya, Bineya n’azaala Lefaya, Lefaya n’azaala Ereyaasa, Ereyaasa n’azaala Azeri.

and, Moza, begat Binea, —and Raphaiah his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son;

44 Azeri yalina batabani be mukaaga, era gano ge gaali amannya gaabwe: Azulikamu, ne Bokeru, ne Isimayiri, ne Seyaliya, ne Obadiya, ne Kanani.

and, Azel, had six sons, and these are their names—Azrikam, [his firstborn], and Ishmael, and Sheariah and Obadiah, and Hanan, [and Asah]. These, were the sons of Azel.
