1 Luno lwe lukalala lw’Abayisirayiri emitwe gy’ennyumba, abaduumizi b’olukumi, n’abaduumizi b’ekikumi abaaweerezanga kabaka nga bamutegeeza buli nsonga eyakwatanga ku bibinja eby’eggye, ebyabeeranga ku mpalo buli mwezi mu mwaka. Buli kibinja kyalimu abasajja emitwalo ebiri mu enkumi nnya.

Now the number of the children of Israel, that is, the heads of families, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and the men in authority who were servants of the king in anything to do with the divisions which came in and went out month by month through all the months of the year, in every division were twenty-four thousand.

2 Yasobeyamu mutabani wa Zabudyeri ye yavunaanyizibwanga ekibinja ekisooka, era kyalimu abasajja emitwalo ebiri mu enkumi nnya.

Over the first division for the first month was Ishbaal, the son of Zabdiel; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

3 Yali muzzukulu wa Perezi, ate nga mukulu w’abaami b’eggye mu mwezi ogwasooka

He was of the sons of Perez, and the chief of all the captains of the army for the first month.

4 Dodayi Omwakowa ye yavunaanyizibwanga ekibinja eky’omwezi ogwokubiri nga Mikuloosi ye mukulu ow’ekibinja ekyo. Mwalimu abasajja emitwalo ebiri mu enkumi nnya mu kibinja ekyo.

And over the division for the second month was Eleazar, the son of Dodai the Ahohite, the ruler; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

5 Benaya mutabani wa Yekoyaada kabona ye yali omuduumizi ow’eggye owookusatu mu mwezi gwokusatu, era yali mwami. Kyalimu abasajja emitwalo ebiri mu enkumi nnya.

The third captain of the army for the third month was Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada the priest; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

6 Oyo ye Benaya eyali omusajja ow’amaanyi mu bali amakumi asatu, era nga ye mukulu mu bo. Mutabani we Ammizabaadi yavunaanyizibwanga ekibinja ekyo.

This is the same Benaiah who was the great man of the thirty, chief of the thirty; and in his division was Ammizabad his son.

7 Asakeri muganda wa Yowaabu ye yavunaanyizibwanga ekibinja ekyokuna mu mwezi ogwokuna, era mutabani we Zebadiya ye yamusikira. Ekibinja ekyo kyalimu abasajja emitwalo ebiri mu enkumi nnya.

The fourth captain for the fourth month was Asahel, the brother of Joab, and Zebadiah his son after him; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

8 Samukusi Omuyizula ye yali omuduumizi ow’ekibinja ekyokutaano mu mwezi ogwokutaano, era kyalimu abasajja emitwalo ebiri mu enkumi nnya.

The fifth captain for the fifth month was Shamhuth the Izrahite; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

9 Ira mutabani wa Ikkesi Omutekowa ye yali omukulu ow’ekibinja eky’omukaaga mu mwezi ogw’omukaaga, era kyalimu abasajja emitwalo ebiri mu enkumi nnya.

The sixth captain for the sixth month was Ira, the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

10 Kerezi Omuperoni, ate nga muzzukulu wa Efulayimu ye yali omukulu ow’ekibinja eky’omusanvu mu mwezi ogw’omusanvu, era kyalimu abasajja emitwalo ebiri mu enkumi nnya.

The seventh captain for the seventh month was Helez the Pelonite, of the sons of Ephraim; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

11 Seibbekayi Omukusasi, ate nga wa ku Bazera ye yali omukulu ow’ekibinja eky’omunaana mu mwezi ogw’omunaana, era kyalimu abasajja emitwalo ebiri mu enkumi nnya.

The eighth captain for the eighth month was Sibbecai the Hushathite, of the Zerahites; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

12 Abiyezeeri Omwanasosi, ate nga wa ku Babenyamini ye yali omukulu ow’ekibinja eky’omwenda mu mwezi ogw’omwenda, era kyalimu abasajja emitwalo ebiri mu enkumi nnya.

The ninth captain for the ninth month was Abiezer the Anathothite, of the Benjamites; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

13 Makalayi Omunetofa, ate nga wa ku Bazera ye yali omukulu ow’ekibinja eky’ekkumi mu mwezi ogw’ekkumi, era kyalimu abasajja emitwalo ebiri mu enkumi nnya.

The tenth captain for the tenth month was Maharai the Netophathite, of the Zerahites; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

14 Benaya Omupirasoni, ate nga muzzukulu wa Efulayimu ye yali omukulu ow’ekibinja eky’ekkumi n’omu mu mwezi ogw’ekkumi n’ogumu, era kyalimu abasajja emitwalo ebiri mu enkumi nnya.

The eleventh captain for the eleventh month was Benaiah the Pirathonite, of the sons of Ephraim; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

15 Kerudayi Omwetofa, ow’omu nnyumba ya Osuniyeri, ye yali omukulu ow’ekibinja eky’ekkumi n’ababiri mu mwezi ogw’ekkumi n’ebiri, era kyalimu abasajja emitwalo ebiri mu enkumi nnya.

The twelfth captain for the twelfth month was Heldai the Netophathite, of Othniel; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

16 Abataka ab’ebika bya Isirayiri baali: eyafuganga Abalewubeeni yali Eryeza mutabani wa Zikuli; eyafuganga Abasimyoni yali Sefatiya mutabani wa Maaka;

And over the tribes of Israel: the ruler of the Reubenites was Eliezer, the son of Zichri; of the Simeonites, Shephatiah, the son of Maacah;

20 eyafuganga Abefulayimu yali Koseya mutabani wa Azaziya; eyafuganga ekitundu ky’ekika kya Manase yali Yoweeri mutabani wa Pedaya;

Of the children of Ephraim, Hoshea, the son of Azaziah; of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joel, the son of Pedaiah;

21 eyafuganga ekitundu ky’ekika kya Manase ekirala ekyabeeranga mu Gireyaadi yali Iddo mutabani wa Zekkaliya; eyafuganga Benyamini yali Yaasiyeri mutabani wa abuneeri;

Of the half-tribe of Manasseh in Gilead, Iddo, the son of Zechariah; of Benjamin, Jaasiel, the son of Abner;

22 n’eyafuganga Ddaani yali Azaleri mutabani wa Yerokamu. Abo be baali abataka abaakuliranga ebika bya Isirayiri.

Of Dan, Azarel, the son of Jeroham. These were the captains of the tribes of Israel.

23 Dawudi teyabala muwendo ogw’abasajja abaali abaakamaze emyaka abiri n’abaali tebanaba kugituusa, kubanga Mukama yali asuubiza okufuula Abayisirayiri abangi ng’emmunyeenye ez’omu ggulu.

But David did not take the number of those who were under twenty years old, for the Lord had said that he would make Israel like the stars of heaven in number.

And Azmaveth, the son of Adiel, was controller of the king's property; Jonathan, the son of Uzziah, had control of all store-houses in country places and in the towns and little towns and strong places;

28 Baalukanani Omugedera ye yavunaanyizibwanga emizeeyituuni n’emisukomooli egyali mu nsenyi ez’ebugwanjuba; ne Yowaasi ye n’avunaanyizibwanga amawanika g’amafuta.

Baal-hanan the Gederite was responsible for the olive-trees and the sycamore-trees in the lowlands; and Joash for the stores of oil;

29 Situlayi Omusaloni ye yavunaanyizibwanga ebisibo mu Saloni, ne Safati mutabani wa Adulayi n’avunaanyizibwanga ebisibo ebyali mu biwonvu.

And Shitrai the Sharonite was responsible for the herds in the grass-lands of Sharon, and Shaphat, the son of Adlai, for those in the valleys;

30 Obiri Omuyisimayiri ye yavunaanyizibwanga eŋŋamira, ne Yedeya Omumeronoosi ye n’avunaanyizibwanga endogoyi.

Obil the Ishmaelite had control of the camels and Jehdeiah the Meronothite of the she-asses;

31 Yazizi Omukaguli ye yavunaanyizibwanga ebisibo eby’endiga. Abo bonna be baali abakungu ba kabaka Dawudi abaavunaanyizibwanga ebintu bye.

The flocks were in the care of Jaziz the Hagarite. All these were the controllers of King David's property.

32 Yonasaani, kitaawe wa Dawudi omuto yali muteesa wa bigambo, era nga musajja mutegeevu omuwandiisi, ne Yekyeri mutabani wa Kakumoni ye yali mukuza w’abalangira.

Now Jonathan, David's father's brother, expert in discussion, and a man of good sense, was a scribe; and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni, had the care of the king's sons;

33 Akisoferi naye yali muteesa wa kabaka, ate nga Kusaayi Omwaluki ye mukwano gwa kabaka nnyo.

And Ahithophel was the king's expert in discussion and Hushai the Archite was the king's friend.

34 Yekoyaada mutabani wa Benaya ne Abiyasaali be badda mu bigere bya Akisoferi. Yowaabu ye yali muduumizi w’eggye lya kabaka.

After Ahithophel was Jehoiada, the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar; and the captain of the king's army was Joab.
