1 Awo oluvannyuma lw’ebyo, Dawudi n’awangula Abafirisuuti, era n’awamba ne Gaasi n’ebyalo ebyali bikyetoolodde okuva mu mukono gw’Abafirisuuti.
And it canto to pass, after this, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, —and took Gath and her villages, out of the hand of the Philistines.
2 Dawudi n’awangula n’Abamowaabu, ne bafuuka baddu be, ne bamuwanga obusuulu.
And he smote Moab, —and the Moabites became servants to David, bearers of a present.
3 Ate era Dawudi yalwanagana ne Kadalezeri kabaka w’e Zoba okutuukira ddala e Kamasi, bwe yali ng’anyweza okufuga kwe ku nsalo ey’Omugga Fulaati.
And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah, towards Hamath, —as he went to establish his hold of the river Euphrates.
4 Dawudi n’amuwambako amagaali lukumi, n’abeebagala embalaasi abasajja kasanvu, n’abasajja abeebigere emitwalo ebiri. Embalaasi endala zonna ez’amagaali n’azitema enteega, ne yeerekerawo kikumi.
And David captured from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen, —and David destroyed all the chariots, saving that he reserved from them a hundred chariots.
5 Awo Abasuuli ab’e Ddamasiko bwe bajja okudduukirira Kadalezeri kabaka w’e Zoba, Dawudi n’abattamu abantu emitwalo ebiri mu enkumi bbiri.
And, when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadarezer king of Zobah, David smote of the Syrians, twenty-two thousand men.
6 N’ateeka olusiisira lw’eggye lye mu Busuuli e Ddamasiko, era Abasuuli baafuuka baweereza be, ne bamutonera ebirabo. Mukama n’awa Dawudi obuwanguzi buli gye yatabaalanga.
And David put [garrisons] in Syria of Damascus, and so it was that the Syrians became, David’s, servants, bearers of a present, —so Yahweh gave victory to David, whithersoever he went.
7 Dawudi n’atwala engabo eza zaabu abaserikale ba Kadalezeri ze baasitulanga, n’azireeta e Yerusaalemi.
And David took the shields of gold, that were upon the servants of Hadarezer, —and brought them to Jerusalem;
8 Mu Tibukasi ne mu Kuni, ebibuga ebyali ebya Kadadezeri n’aggyayo ebikomo bingi nnyo, era ebyo Sulemaani bye yakolamu ennyanja ey’ekikomo, n’empagi, n’ebintu eby’ebikomo ebirala.
also, from Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadarezer, David took very much bronze, —therewith, did Solomon make the sea of bronze, and the pillars, and the vessels of bronze.
9 Awo kabaka Toowu ow’e Kamasi bwe yawulira nga Dawudi awangudde eggye lyonna erya Kadadezeri, kabaka w’e Zoba
And, when Tou, king of Hamath, heard that David had smitten all the force of Hadarezer king of Zobah,
10 n’atuma mutabani we Kadolaamu eri kabaka Dawudi okumulamusaako n’okumuyozaayoza okuwangula olutalo wakati we ne Kadadezeri, kubanga Kadadezeri yalwananga ne Toowu. Kadolaamu yaleeta zaabu, n’effeeza, n’ebikomo, nga bya ngeri za ngyawulo.
he sent Hadoram his son unto King David, to ask after his welfare, and to bless him, because he had made war against Hadarezer and had smitten him, for, a man making wars against Tou, had been Hadarezer, —and [he had with him] all manner of vessels of gold and silver and bronze;
11 Ebintu byonna ebyaleetebwa, kabaka Dawudi yabiwonga eri Mukama, nga bwe yakola effeeza ne zaabu gye yawamba ku mawanga amalala nga Edomu ne Mowaabu, n’Abamoni, n’Abafirisuuti, ne Amaleki.
them also, did King David hallow unto Yahweh, with the silver and the gold, that he bare away from all the nations, —from Edom, and from Moab, and from the sons of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.
12 Ye Abisaayi mutabani wa Zeruyiya yattira abasajja ba Edomu omutwalo gumu mu kanaana mu Kiwonvu eky’Omunnyo.
Moreover, Abishai, son of Zeruiah, smote Edom, in the Valley of Salt, —eighteen thousand;
13 Era yateeka olusiisira lw’abaserikale mu Edomu, era aba Edomu bonna ne bafuuka baweereza ba Dawudi. Mukama n’awa Dawudi obuwanguzi mu bifo byonna gye yatabaalanga.
and set, in Edom, garrisons, and all Edom became servants unto David, —and Yahweh gave David the victory, whithersoever he went.
14 Dawudi n’afuga Isirayiri yenna, mu bwenkanya ne mu butuukirivu abantu be bonna.
So David reigned over all Israel, —and he was executing justice and righteousness for all his people;
15 Yowaabu mutabani wa Seruyiya ye yali omuduumizi w’eggye; Yekosafaati mutabani wa Akirudi nga ye mujjukiza;
and, Joab, son of Zeruiah, was over the army, —and, Jehoshaphat, son of Elihud, was recorder;
16 Zadooki mutabani wa Akitubu ne Abimereki mutabani wa Abiyasaali be baali bakabona; Savusa ye yali muwandiisi;
and, Zadok, son of Ahitub, and Abimelech son of Abiathar, were priests, —and, Shavsha, was scribe;
17 Benaya mutabani wa Yekoyaada ye yakuliranga Abakeresi n’Abaperesi; ate batabani ba Dawudi baali bakungu bakulu ddala era nga babeera ku lusegere lwa kabaka.
and, Benaiah, son of Jehoiada, was over the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, —and, the sons of David, were first, in attendance on the king.
